@@JH_Jamil wdym "digital music"? CS Pakistan has pulled off western and eastern instruments and fusions amazingly. In season 9, "paar channaa de" they showed a Pakistani plucked string instrument, in season 14 they had a harp, in earlier seasons Ahad Nayani killed it on the drums, they've incorporated different national musical instruments e.g. rabab, just to mention a few examples. It's not a competition of who is better than the other tbh, but CS Pakistan take the cake here after giving us 14 seasons of amazing music

Yes! Though vasudev bhai is absolutely correct autotune is used On Atif Aslam Sir's Voice in Dil Diya Gallan...."Das Laina ki Nakhra dikha ke" the word "laina" is totally autotuned....But I disagree with the point that vasudev bhai mentioned about that shakiness and rounding of notes...I would like to share a that The Unconventional Vibratos And Shakiness Was An X-factor along with his Vocal Texture that Made atif Aslam famous During his early days....Though nowadays he has Improved alot as a Singer "main agar" from Tubelight is a perfect example of his vocal abilities..the Falsettos he sung and the vocal dynamics he used There Are brilliant. But that doesn't mean that atif can't sing it live... checkout his live performance of dil Diya Gallan and you will get even more shakiness there

Agree to most of your points mate ! Although i dont feel that all the songs should have 'autotuned(or pitch corrected)' vocals ...some songs are great for their rawness ...for eg. the taqdeer song has that folk element and folk is supposed to be raw ..and if you need an example from the past CS India songs there is Chaudhary ..you can tell Mame Khan's voice is untouched there ... and to be honest the Bhoomi song Chorus sounds somewhat robotic because it is tuned and takes that rawness away from the song ..But again taste taste ki baat hai 😊. But haan overall mixing and production does need an improvement this season that i totally agree !

You’re right buddy. But the point is that Mame Khan has a better voice control overall, hence even without tuning it feels great. Same applies to some of the old classical songs - they’re evergreen kyunki unki vocal performance raw hi itni khubsurat thi. Tuning till an “extent” sounds natural but over-tuning can definitely spoil such tracks. Oh and, love your videos 🙏🏻🔥

Definitely some vocals sounds great without much processing nd tuning. Maintaining the rawness of the song is really important but as vasudev mentioned that nowadays electronic music is on trend that is why mixing and tuning has become very important aspect of music.

also i don't feel the "taqdeer banayo fakeer" line is not totally off the metronome, though the guitar (bass i think) which is being played with the line "taqdeer banayo faqeer" has some weird delay effect which makes it feel out of sinc . i may be totally wrong but that's what i felt when I heard it.

Kudos to you for bringing this fact to light that even the biggest artists use pitch correction and how it's crucial to blend vocals into the mix with perfection. People mostly have 0 clue about it and they've stigmatised it so much that its influence is being seen in something as high budget as Coke Studio! 🙌

So many friends of mine with zero clue regarding production always baselessly boast around how Indian artists like Sonu Nigam and Arijit Singh don't require any autotune and all, and call me stupid and get all offended when I try reasoning with them as a music producer that what autotune or pitch correction even is and how no artist is quite an exception to this, and how there's nothing really wrong with it (they've no idea about music production whatsoever and for the fact, don't even know what autotune really is or how is it supposed to work)

Bro i am trying to understand this with an open mind... so with todays music and instruments, auto tune is a must... which includes the likes of Rahat saab as well? Ok maybe thats why the production quality and overall sound of todays songs are better to ear then compared to say Rafi saab and others. Can you please explain the timing factor as well? Does it mean older performances like that of Jagjit singh, Nusrat saab acrually had to prepare the performance to whole new level or that genre allows little bit of error?

@@GurpreetSingh-zj9nh bro i came to know only htrough thid video or comment... may be only for mix and mastring autotune is used in voices of these great singer, like he said about arijit and sonu sir....actually now in music, acoustic music is getting less importance in songs....and I don't think these singer actually need autuotune to to sing because in there lives perform well...and that Atif's part shown in this video can be easily sing...its not that difficult thing..

I personally love Pakistan Coke Studio and Nescafe Basement. The music is at another level.. Unique and of variety.

Thank you for pointing it out to us. I did not know anything about this before but one thing was evident that CS Pak is doing much better. Very well pointed and very well said.. Happy to hear, at least someone with me on this.. I feel this too Coke Studio India can never match to Coke Studio Pakistan.. Somehow it was loosely handled.. There are few songs which I love- "Zariya-AR Sir" "Chhad de-Master Sleem" "Madaari-Vishal Dadlani" "Ki banu- Gurdasman saab & Diljit" but later on we lost it... Hope these little little mistakes are taken care of in future CS Bharat episods. Cheerz all.

Well said 🙌 I also felt that lack of tightness and pitch correction the day I heard coke studio Bharat. At first I thought that they will gonna match the level and format of the last coke studio pakistan with amazing songs like Kana Yaari, Thagyan and many others but it is no where near to that. There is also a way to blend the mix and still make it sound Raw. And also I felt somewhere the compositions are a little tricky to grab hold attention of audience.

This season is simply lacking in melody....no melodic hooks that will keep you coming back. I cannot even get through a whole track without skipping ahead to see if it improves, and then never see myself listening to it ever again. And, when you compound that with the fact that even the performance itself isn't live to begin with, it is inexcusable.

The set design, the production, the melodies - everything is so mid, so tacky!!! Doesn't even come close to the tracks composed by Ram Sampath or Rahman or Salim-Sulaiman! Bro I agree with all the facts u said about autotuning but when you played "Tu jina hai meraa..." That little fluctuations of vocal texture is very often for classical singers , this is one their basic practice ❤️

Taqdeer's rawness is the reason why I love that song and it's in my playlist. I feel sometimes rawness in the music makes it more natural if used correctly. And in case of Holi song of coke studio, they didn't use rawness perfectly and sounds absurd.
