He desires a normal life because he never had one but when he finally finds it he is not content with it, when he finally touches boobs he isn't happy I think you misunderstood the story, he desired normal living conditions because he lacked them growing up, once he got them he had no goal, no purpose, and even by inventing new goals for himself, that did not bring him happiness Sadly Denji life trauma just runs too deep, and he views the world differently than any person with a "normal" upbringing

He is happy most of the time though. Denjis journey is kind of about fulfilling ones basic needs and self discovery. So naturally he slowly moves upwards to more complex goals. He touches moves, it isn't that great and slowly he realises he wants intimacy.

I think it's important to consider, in Denji's case, that when he achieved that goal of touching boobs, he wasn't satisfied. When he kissed a girl (and granted, despite the uhh... circumstance) he wasn't satisfied. He chased his hedonistic desire, unburdened by social acceptance, everywhere it took him, even to desiring 10 women and wanting to be chainsaw man because people were chanting the name. I don't think he was just chasing a desire, I think he never knew what he wanted but was too passionate not to want something- so he decided to desire after everything.

Jean-Paul Sartre stated that "existence precedes essence." Thus, with there being no pre-set meaning to existence, man is "condemned to be free" since individual freedom brings with it a personal responsibility for all our actions. Since most people do not want to accept such responsibility onto themselves, we are condemned by this freedom. It would be easier to put blame on a higher power (like a god) and forfeit our freedoms over to such an entity in order to relieve the burden of this responsibility. This theme of an existential existence plays a major role when it comes to Makima in the manga, who takes freedoms from others by taking responsibility for them, much like how a dog serves a master, which is a relationship her and Denji share. Dog symbolism is pretty big in the manga, as is Aesop's fable of the town and country mouse. With that said, great video, good sir! ^_^

The source material/manga actually rivals some of the best anime you’ve probably ever seen, but there’s rumors that the anime is going to be CG. Studio Mappa did another CG anime before and from what I’ve heard it’s actually pretty good. I have no problem with CG anime, but some of the imagery that Fujimoto draws... Holy fuck... I started it literally 4 days ago and finished it yesterday, and can proudly say that if Studio Mappa pulls this off, wether they give it the Jujutsu Kaisen treatment or CG, it might be one of the biggest shows ever.

Ironically, one aspect of absudism that many people forget when talking about Camus is that it inherently necessitates alienation from normal society. Like Meursault from the Stranger by Camus, Denji is an absurdist destined to be alienated by the "normal society". Even if he wishes to be a part of it unlike Meursault. People who idealize Camus' concept of absurdism completely miss the point of his work. Idealizing Absurdism as a philosophy is committing philosophical 'Suicune' per Camus' own words. Absurdism was never meant to be a "based" belief system

Actually, as a Christian myself, the first thing I would say is that we accept the bizarre nature of the world. not that anyone asked but I think a big part of Christianity is the realization that the world is way too big to palate by yourself. No part of it is denying the nature of the world, but its also accepting that there's a transcending goal in a life that is otherwise meaningless.

I like to imagine Sisyphus is just happy knowing he's happy and that makes the Gods unhappy. That's why I'd be happy in that situation.
