I have found that humans have no issue in idolizing celebrities and sports figures however as Catholic I'm judged for saying the Hail Mary and having statues in my home. I pray to Mary because I do not have a mother to talk to and I feel so lucky that Mary had always been there. She has filled me with grace more than times than I can count.

So beautiful! I am a Catholic who converted from Protestanism, and "discovered" Mary. Her intercession is incredibly real, and I have experienced her love for me in my life so many times, in different circumstances. I am so thankful to Jesus that I had a wonderful life as a Protestant, but Mary indeed makes a DIFFERENCE. She crushed the head of Satan and helps us get closer to God. Yes, Jesus is the only mediator but Mary is the only Mother of God! And it's completely not idolatry to ask for her help (Wedding at Cana, visiting Elizabeth, etc.). We are so blessed by her presence in our lives!

Please be praying for me. I am protestant. Recently I miscarried and as I cried and prayed, in pain over not having a mother to call and comfort me..I had an unexplainable experience...not a vision but a glimpse, a sweeping blanket of comfort over my heart and God speaking into my soul that I DO have a mother and In my mind Mother Mary appeared. I will admit, I was not just shocked but almost afraid...I haven't known what to do with this, but ever since I have been watching videos like this to make sense of it.

Like Mary you know the pain of losing a child. The cry of your heart is something you share in common with Mary. Her love has no bounds and she knows what your broken heart feels like for she has lived your pain. And through her pain Christ also understands the human loss of your child. The king of king and the queen of queens both weep for you. And one day of you stay on the narrow path, when the time has come you will open your eyes in heaven and little arms will be waiting for you. And your lifetime of tears of sadness will be replaced with tears of joy and you are reunited in front of the royal family when more love than your heart can bear will fill your soul to bursting. To honor the mother is to honor the son, for she is part of him and he is part of her. She was an essential part of God’s plan, all of humanities salvation depended on her freely accepting to be a part of God’s plan. Where Eve fell into temptation and disobedience… Mary a mother … one of us but better than any of us for she always obeyed. Mary who sits on a throne beside her son, like all Davidic kings since Solomon who ruled their kingdom with their mother beside them.

I am so sorry for the loss of your precious baby. How beautiful that you experienced comfort from our dear mother, Mary. We know that our savior was perfect in doing God's will, so He would have been perfect in honouring His mother, as the commandments ask us to do. Therefore, do not be afraid to honour Mary, for in honoring Mary, you imitate Christ in honouring His mother. Mary does not want glory for herself, she desires the glory of God, and will always point you to her Son, our savior. God bless you. I will pray for you.

So sorry about your baby

I am a Protestant who loves Mary. It would take many pages to relate all she has done for me. At a time in my life that I. Felt unworthy to approach the throne of Christ, I found Mary. Her unconditional love was the love of my earthly Mother. I do not have the words to express how much she has come to mean to me. It is a real relationship. I feel her and see her working to help me and bless me. I just cannot begin to tell all of you all that she has done for me. I love her so much it almost hurts. The miracles of my Blessed Mother have been real, bigger than life. Please believe that she can and wants to love and help us all. Everything taught about Mary I have found to be true.

I am a recovering alcoholic who was too ashamed to approach Jesus for forgiveness. Mary was my “higher power” in the beginning until I could inculcate Christ’s forgiveness and resume my relationship as Savior to the saved. My post said this. You may not believe that my spiritual experience was real. I do. Thank you for your concern. But, I believe that Jesus is the Way. My relationship with Mary is like and mother child. I had a great mother but she is dead. Mary helps me and reminds me that despite my sin, Jesus forgives and I can be a good person and a good Christian. I don’t really understand why you felt the need to comment on my post. If you have different beliefs, why even watch this video. Were you doing it for Christ’s glory or to condemn others? If you did, I believe you did so for your own glory, not that of Christ. But, I personally believe that you felt you had something that could help another person, for that I am grateful. I do not understand how Mary can be aware of anything about humans presently living on earth. She is fully human, not God. God has closed the eyes of those humans who have died and now reside with God in heaven to protect them from the sadness and evil that exists on earth. So unless God altered Mary’s essential being and gave her attributes different from other human beings, how can she see what is happening on earth? Thank you for your answers.

This really helped me understand Mary more than i did. I have a very strong desire to convert but I have no priest no parish and no current way to travel. So I have taken it upon my own to teach myself as much as I can. thank you for this. Hopefully one day soon I will have the means but until then this really helps.

You know as Catholics we can only direct others to the Water. And even take some there. But if one chooses not to drink then, how sad. Like any Kingdom we've known the King rules, but we do not withdraw from the rest of his family. We'd honor his mother as well. Normally the Queen gives out good gifts to the her peasants as favors to those who are loyal. Should not the mother he gave us do the same? Especially when she has so much love to give? ❤

When I hear someone insult Mary, our Mother, I tell them if someone insulted my mother like that, they would not be invited to come into my home. I wonder if Jesus doesn't feel the same way. After all, the commandment says, "honor thy father and thy mother".

Rachel Rachel I am not quoting from the Bible, dear one. I am just stating that Mary stirs something in my heart in which directs me to her Son. What a special woman to have had the closeness of her Savior in her womb. When I was pregnant for my two children, I knew they were a miracles. I cannot imagine how she must have felt with Baby Jesus.

I was raised by athiest parents. But God bless my mom, she did her best. Anytime I messed up bad, anytime I was so sad, she pointed to Christ. She’s Christian now, but I find it so beautiful that even back then she knew in her heart what we all needed. Despite everything our society says. How lucky we are to live after the birth of Christ. Nothing compares to you my lord.

Great comment. One of the reasons that your atheist mom could point to Jesus is because this nation originated in Christian law and principles, with a majority of people being Christians, and the Truth of Christianity/Jesus being part of society at large. So even tho she did not know or believe everything about Jesus, she knew enough to help you. Unfortunately, that is not the case in America any more -- what is prominent are all of the things that contradict Christianity -- what is pushed by our government are the things that contradict Christianity -- and society is pushing to make any mention of the Bible and the principles of Christianity a Hate Crime. Future atheists will not have any knowledge of Jesus to fall back on. You are blessed indeed.

I am not Catholic but I’ve been going through major spiritual warfare. All of it leading me to our Heavenly Father… one day I was being tormented so bad I ended up in a Catholic Church. No one was inside so I was able to have a meltdown and cry in front of Jesus… when I was done crying I got up and wandered around the church looking at the beautiful stained class and I saw a statue of Mary in the corner with the kneeling bar. I knelt in front of her and I said I don’t know you and you don’t know me but can you please help me? Shortly after that I started feeling like she was my mother ❤

It’s like a peace that you never want to let go of ❤️ I have such a long way to go but I thank God everyday that he woke me up

It is so wonderful that you are interested in the Catholic faith keep investigating and learning about it as I am sure that Jesus has great plans for your future I was a Protestant who had no personal relationship with Jesus but was led to the Catholic church I became a Catholic in 1996 and have to say that I truly love my Catholic faith I am blessed to have an amazing personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ Mother Mary was quite instrumental in my conversion as because I was a mother of several young children I found that I could really identify with her and Mother Mary gently drew me into such a deep relationship with her beloved son Jesus Christ I pray that Mary will journey with you and lead you into a deep and meaningful relationship with herself and her precious son Jesus Christ God bless you you will be in my prayers x

That was necromancy, because they intended to summon the dead, to conjure it back to the realm of the living, but asking the virgin mary and the saints is different, YOU ASK THEM TO PRAY FOR YOU, and look at the difference, that time was the old testament, the time BEFORE Jesus, no one was saved yet, but during the time of the Saints which was AFTER the resurrection, they were ALREADY saved, and they are now more alive than us for they are with God.

Quite sad to say, but you were just not taught correctly and you let others interpretations of the Bible get to you. Actually Saturday is God's seventh day read Genesis 2:3 And God BLESSED the seventh day, and SANCTIFIED it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and MADE. Marcus Chung Exactly! Mary was the first of all believers; and in devotion to Jesus’ blessed mother, we are delivered to Him and grow in our relationship with Him. Even the holy angel, Gabriel, showed us how loved Mary is by God: “Hail, thou that art highly favored, the lord is with thee: Blessed are you among woman!” (Luke 1:28 KJV) Another excellent illustration of how mother Mary brings us closer to Jesus is found in Luke when Mary visits her cousin, Elisebeth, who is pregnant with John. When Mary arrived, pregnant with Jesus, Elizabeth greeted her elatedly: “Blessed are you among woman! Remember that Jesus lived for 33yrs, but started his public ministry at 30. So Mary knew him for 33 yrs, that is 11times more than people knew him.

Amen. This is my body... this is my blood. Do this in memory of me. John 20:23 who's sin you forgive they are forgiven who's sins you don't forgive they are not forgiven. Order given to his apostles. Growing up Protestant, I was raised to be suspicious of Catholics for their worship of Mary. But I have done some thinking of my own since then. I have had a great deal of respect for Mary for her willingness to go along with God's plan. Lately, I have been exploring Catholicism. May I just clarify one thing for you? We Catholics never adore the Blessed Virgin Mary. Adoration, called “latria” in Latin is reserved for the triune God alone. We do not worship or adore Mary because she is not God. Instead, all of the angels and saints are given “dulia” which is veneration or respect. In Mary’s case, because she is the Mother of Our Lord, she is given “hyperdulia” which is the highest respect of all of the saints. I am a certified diocesan Catechist with many years of experience in teaching catechesis and the status of the Blessed Virgin is a very common topic for discussion. Ciao.

SAME terminology used to describe the realtionship between Adam and Eve --(Knew her) Mary was the mother of Jesus as a man, but being God, He already existed before Mary was born. So she could not be the Mother of God. Mary should be loved and respected but none in Scriptures to make statues of her to remind you to worship God, and to pray to her to pray for you. Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man.

If the Greek words used in this passage connote only siblings, then the Catholic dogma of Mary’s perpetual virginity is false. However, the word adelphoi has a much broader meaning. It may refer to male relatives that one is not a descendant of and that are not descendant from one (such as a blood brother, step-brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, etc.) or non-relatives such as neighbors, fellow workers, co-religionists, and friends. Because of this broad usage, we can be sure that the 120 “brothers” in Acts 1:15 did not have the same mother. Neither did Lot and his uncle Abraham, who were called “brothers” (Gen. 11:26-28, 29:15). The reason relatives were called brothers or sisters was because in Hebrew, there was no word for cousin, nephew, or uncle. So the person was referred to as simply a “brother.” Linguistically, this was far easier than calling the person the son of a mother’s sister. Since the New Testament was written in a dialect of Greek that was heavily influenced by the Semitic culture, many of the Hebrew idioms (like “brother” having multiple meanings) intrude into the Greek text. chissstardestroyer you know I’m not going to argue this one. You folks obviously believe this and are pretty set in your ways. What I guess I don’t understand is how clear scripture is, yet so many cannot see it. I always would get so upset and question how so many people could be so blind to the Gospel and believe nonsense like this, until I came across a verse that was like God speaking through His scriptures “And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:3-4‬ So I’m done folks. The scriptures are not locked away anymore by any “churches” nor are they chained to anyone so you can’t read them. There are apps to download for free, there is a plethora of websites that explain things and there really is no reason anymore to not understand this, unless of course the god of this world is your father and he is whispering sweet nothings to you to keep you comforted until your time.

When Paul called Timothy as my son, when David calls Jonathan as my brother, wher is direct common sense ? Where is the plain Bible ? Does it not mean Paul fathered Timothy ? Doesn't it mean Jonathan was DAVID'S brother ? Don't be so convenient and partial when you want to take things literally. Why don't you cut off your hands and eyes like Jesus told coz it's making you sin ? But there you will say Jesus meant symbolically. But when Jesus has brothers, he has brothers. Makes sense ? If I agree with what you say, brother and sister can be elder or younger. So if Jesus could have had elder brother and sister too. In that case, Jesus wouldn't be a virgin's son and therefore can't be God, can't be Messiah. Right ? Answer me now

Let's see what Jesus thinks of his mother: {While Jesus was still speaking to the crowds, His mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to Him. Someone told Him, “Look, Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to You.” But Jesus replied, *“Who is My mother, and who are My brothers?”* Pointing to His disciples, He said, *“Here are My mother and My brothers. salvation4all You are throwing so many things out right now. First of all did you give birth to GOD? Did you raise GOD? Did you teach GOD how to pray? Did you nurse GOD? Were you at the foot of the cross of Christ who is GOD? Did you witness GOD who was your son being beaten? Did you lay your son who was GOD in linens? Do you share dna with GOD? There is no point of you answering these questions, because hopefully if you open your eyes and ears you will see that you did none of these things. Jesus Christ in unity of the most Holy Trinity our one God chose the Blessed Virgin Mary to not only give birth and bring forth the salvation to the world but also to raise the salvation of all men and be beside him during his life. I know you want to make Mary look like some normal insignificant human being because that is apart of your Protestant doctrine, but that sadly is not how God views his most beautiful creation. Think about what I’ve asked you and truly ask your self, “How can Mary not be special is she played such and integral part of the salvation of all men?” God will reveal to you wisdom my friend, Christ loves mother and so should you because she cooperated with God and helped us receive eternal life. Also like I said I can talk about so many of your points, but I just want you to think about what I’ve asked you.

Mary lived 2,000 years ago. Therefore, if you were not alive 2,000 years ago to see Mary, then you would not know what Mary look like. Therefore, if you thought someone appeared to you, you cannot say you saw Mary, because you were not living in the days of Mary, to know what Mary look like. To pray to Mary to get through to God, means that you have made Mary a Mediator, you are comming a Great Sin. And if you pray to all of the dead saints, they are also considered to be your mediator, which means you are committing additional sins. Because the Bible tells us 1 Timothy 2:5-6, that God only gave us one Mediator, and his name is Jesus. Which the man in this video did NOT tell you. You have a Bible, Read it for yourself, so that you will really know what is of God, and what is NOT!!!

@@fireandgrace9456 What you probably heard in your ignorance was the Exsultet during the lighting of the Easter candle indicating the coming of Christ, where it is sung, "May this flame be found still burning by the Morning Star: the one Morning star who never sets, Christ your Son...", which of course is a reference to 2 Peter 1:19 or Rev. 2:26, 28, and ultimately Rev. 22:16. In latin, Morning Star, or Day Star, is "lucifer", a compound word from lux(light) and ferre, (to bring). All you had to do was a quick google translate of the word, but instead you chose to wallow in your ignorance.

Recently i’ve felt myself drawn to the catholic church for the first time. But the status of Mary is probably the single biggest stumbling block. Thank you Father Mike for explaining some things here. Praying God will continue enlightening me on this topic.

She is always the biggest stumbling block, because she is the greatest treasure/gift of the faith, and the one the devil most wants you to stay away from. he will sow doubt as much as he can to stop people from turning to Our Lords own chosen and created Mother. It is by the heal of this Jewish girl’s yes/fiat that the devil will experience his ultimate humiliation and defeat. If the devil loses to God he can still hold on to his pride, but if he loses to a little human servant girl of Our Lord, well then he cannot even keep his pride.

Something that helped me with Mary was actually the passage where the Lord talks about blaspheming the Holy Spirit. He says that to the pharisees because they saw all of Jesus' miracles but still refused to believe. And the miracles they saw were healing miracles. The Lord said that a house divided can't stand, and so satan can't heal. In fact, from all the prophets, only Jesus could heal lepers. So, the fruit you can recognise as God's fruit is true, complete healing. Mary has more miracles of healing than i can count, but the hospital near the place of our lady of lourdes, who tested all the claims of healing and only accepted those who could prove with medical records previous illnesses, that had instant or near instant complete healing at lourdes and who's disease was inccurable by current medical expertise were accounted around 7000 confirmed cases. Satan can perform miracles, but not healing, as Jesus said. So, if our prayers to Mary don't go to demons as some denominations say, then God is healing, and Mary is passing the prayers she receives, and she can only do that by God's grace, since humans have no power apart from God given gifts of Heavenly grace. in scripture, when did Jesus ever refer to Mary as Mother ? when? Mary was born in sin like everyone else. Mary is a child of God (Holy Trinity). How can a Child of God be the Mother of God? Jesus has only a Father...

The big confusion here is Mary was Jesus earthly mother. He does not have a spiritual mother. In the verse in John when he says behold your mother he is obviously talking about earthly Mother. Not spiritual.

Thank you Jesus for your gift of our Blessed Mother Mary, who intercedes for us and helps us obtain what we need in this broken world. I praise and worship you Mother Mary.

I was raised to pray and honor our Blessed Mother, and I was blessed enough to see her crying statue, in 2005 outside of Sacramento Ca.. It was so awesome. One of the 5 special miracles she has shared with me. Mother Mary is so awesome and helps to get all our prayers to our Lord.

You are blessed to have witnessed this miracle! Our Blessed Mother is wonderful and loves us so much. I have a story about a sign I received from Our Lady. A few years ago, I discovered the Five First Saturdays devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. As part of it, I went to confession and Holy Communion one Saturday. It was Mother's Day weekend, and I went up with the other mothers at the end of mass to receive a carnation. After mass, to honor Mary, I placed my flower at the foot of her statue. I knelt down to pray, wished her a happy Mothers Day and consecrated my children to her care. The next day, Sunday, I went to mass again. I was singing in the choir loft and my husband was sitting downstairs with our two daughters in the pews. Our choir was singing during the flower distribution, and none of the choir went down. But afterward, unexpectedly, the ushers brought carnations up to choir loft for the moms, and I received one. Two of the ladies then gave me their flowers. Then my older daughter came up and gave me another one! She had gone up to receive one for me. Now I had four flowers ! I had given Mary my only flower yesterday. In return, Mary had given me four carnations...a bouquet! I knew this was a beautiful sign from our Lady!

My mother died when I was five years old. I just recently lost my father a few days ago. I don't think I've experienced what it is like to have a mother in that sense. Going to pray on it and see what comes from it. A part of my mental health prevents me from accepting love or that I am unworthy of love. At least that is what I think. Perhaps there is something in there that I am missing. Thank you for the clarification. It's been almost a month since I've renewed my faith. Now for some deep inner reflection. ❤😇💥

Mary lived 2,000 years ago. Therefore, if you were not alive 2,000 years ago to see Mary, then you would not know what Mary look like. Therefore, if you thought someone appeared to you, you cannot say you saw Mary, because you were not living in the days of Mary, to know what Mary look like. To pray to Mary to get through to God, means that you have made Mary a Mediator, you are comming a Great Sin. And if you pray to all of the dead saints, they are also considered to be your mediator, which means you are committing additional sins. Because the Bible tells us 1 Timothy 2:5-6, that God only gave us one Mediator, and his name is Jesus. Which the man in this video did NOT tell you. I don't spend much time worrying about sinning, I look for God's blessings. I try to do kind things and sometimes I succumb to sin. Do not seek redemption for the sins of others, instead, discern your sins and offer them up to God.@@marvinberry295

I was raised Pentecostal, and I'm new to Catholicism. (I went to Mass for the first time Sunday.) I couldn't make sense of thinking of Mary as my mom. But when he said what he did at 6:34 in the video, it clicked. It made me so happy just to think Jesus is willing to share his mom with us, with me!

Hello, I was raised Catholic all my life and attended mass but I always felt empty and wondered why God couldn't speak to me like He did to other people in the Bible. So I started to study the Bible and pray asking God to guide me. And I came to find the truth from God and that is only Jesus Christ is the only way to God. There is no such thing as Mary's intercessions or saints, purgatory or confession to priests. If you are searching for truth with your honest heart allow God to lead you and not man, because man errors many times Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jesus said, God is spirit and true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. John 4:23 Let the Lord lead you. Please don't follow religion. Follow Jesus Love in Christ. :)

This man is not talking biblically. No where does it say to pray to Mary or the saints. Nor does scripture call Mary the moon. He is putting 2 +2 together and getting 22 instead of 4 . 🤦🏾‍♀️

@@canaja37 Im in the middle of trying to understand this myself. Reality is we as believers intercede on each others behalf all the time with no issue. If you can pray to God yourself, then why ask anyone else to pray for you? I think rather than praying to mAry it may simply be speaking to her as an intercessor as we do for one another here. Just something I’m in the middle of thinking about.

I’ve been having such a hard time explaining to non Catholic Christians the importance of Mary to us. They always say we pray to her as if she is a God and I always tried to e plain that we don’t praise we ask to intercede for us and that you can’t fully know Christ without knowing his mother. However everything you said was such a concise why of answering this question about Mary and her role in my faith. I always felt so guilty for not always knowing how to defend our Mother Mary and although I may still not be able to say it the way you just did father Mike, I am super grateful for this message. You really are doing Gods work and it’s means so much to us. So thank you to everyone at Ascension Presents👏👏👏👏👏

Mary converted me, I cannot wait for Baptism and just the concept of having an actual Mother was amazing to me. I guess, Catholicism is the filled in hole of my life. It definitely fills in those holes of having a terrible mother and a father who abandoned me. Mary and Jesus seem to always at every second walk through life with me. It's real great because, the more and more I pray, the further I get from my parents. I asked to get closer to God though, not my "parents." God is a true Father who will never give up on me. And Mary I can always count on her praying for me. God bless you Fr. Mike, and thank you for this video.

Thank you for your videos! I've grown up a devout Protestant (Southern Baptist specifically), and while I still remain, for years I've felt a draw to the Catholic church as well. This is one of the issues I've had with Catholicism, the constant veneration of the Mother Mary, but you have explained it beautifully, and in a practical way. While I don't know that I can convert, as I would like (could possibly become the 2nd Great Schism between myself, my husband, and our families), I truly enjoy learning more about Catholic beliefs and teachings. I am 66 years old; have been a Christian for 50;... I have been mostly been influenced by Protestant doctrine; but I accepted Jesus as my Savior, mostly due to having been given a "Living Bible" paraphrase version, by my grand mother at age 15. I was rebellious; trouble; a rebel without a clue. But, while bored at my relatives' Christmas party, where my gift was the Living Bible, I was not interested in small talk or any other thing that was going on, so I read the Bible. This time the words seemed to jump off of the page and into my mind and soul!!! I prayed on my own about a week later, asking Him to forgive my sins. I repented, in that I didn't want to sin any more. I DID sin again, many times. But His Holy Spirit came into me that day and helped me grow in Christ and increased my desire not to sin. Anyway, HE'S graciously allowed me to walk with him and be one with Him through faith. I do believe we are saved by grace alone, not by works, lest any man shall boast. I'm a Reformed Protestant now, in the ilk of John MacArthur and the late Dr. RC Sproul. Until tonight, when I heard your very simple and effective communication of why Catholics emphasize and pray to Mary, in the context you explained it. "Behold your mother," I John was just a guy. But he was a guy whom Jesus chose. And Mary was just a woman. But she is the one who Jesus chose. And the fact that knowing her is like getting to know the mother of your brother in-law, into whose family I've been adopted. In that scenario, I could see looking at her as our mother. That version or context makes sense to me. Yes, some Catholics have taken it so far as to deify her, which is definitely not correct, in God's eyes. I'm still not convinced I should pray to her or any of the people the Catholic Church has designated as "saints." Paul wrote that all believers are His saints. So I'm not there regarding sainthood, etc. But thats ok; not a deal breaker. And as a Catholic, your explanation of Mary makes fine sense. If all Catholics believed this in this context, I'd have no trouble as seeing her as my mother or mother-in-law, kind of relationship. But then again, I don't know ow that dead believers can read my thoughts or prayers. So I am essentially in the same place regarding Mary and the Catholic definition of sainthood I d, and salvation be Sola gratia, grace alone, your video enlightened me and softened my stance on Mary, the mother of of our God on earth. Thanks. Grace to you and peace in the Name of our Savior Jesus Christ. 🙏 Amen.

Protestants are very prideful when it comes to Mary. We love and adore Mary not bc she's God but bc Jesus said behold your mother, if it wasn't for Mary there'd be no Savior, Mary said do what He tells you too and bc of her full cooperation with the Holy spirit. I love Mary.

Amen! Mary is also the Ark of the New Covenant. Compare Luke 1:39-56 with 2 Samuel Chapter 6. We are her offspring (children)! Rev. 12:17 God bless you!

There is some great stuff about Mary, that Fulton Sheen said back in the day (I think fr. Mike referenced some of his words here, he even wrote a book about seven words of Mary in the Bible and those seven words of Jesus on the cross). I highly recommend looking him up.

YOU: He said " honor, not worship" is due Mary *ME: Yet GOD didn't say that in His NT/Canon.* Not one of the guys/Apostles that KNEW Mary and wrote the NT for us, ever says to "honor" Mary or to "venerate" or that Mary is the queen of Heaven.

Reading St Faustina's diary, I'm just so captivated by the love she has for Jesus and Mary. Her love for them has me attracted to pray more whether it is the rosary or the chaplet of divine mercy. It did help me in my relationship with both of them (and obviously St Faustina as well)

A priest friend of mine shared this analogy in a homily a few months ago: We are all one body, the Church is one body; Christ is the head; Mary is the neck, he came to us through Mary, and we can encounter Jesus through Mary. She connects us to him ❤

Where exactly does it make me unbeliever?? Mary doesn’t lead us to Christ. John 6:44 says no one can come to Jesus unless the father draws him in” John 14:6 no one comes to the father but through me(Jesus Christ). It’s God/Jesus who sent us the Holy Spirit. I’m not asking for any sign as Mathew 16:4 states. Tell me if what I said is wrong? If so, as a family in Christ show me where I am wrong??

Is worship of saints/Mary biblical? The Bible is absolutely clear that we are to worship God alone. The only instances of anyone other than God receiving worship in the Bible are false gods, which are Satan and his demons. All followers of the Lord God refuse worship. Peter and the apostles refused to be worshipped (Acts 10:25-26;14:13-14). The holy angels refuse to be worshipped (Revelation 19:10; 22:9). The response is always the same, “Worship God!” Roman Catholics attempt to “bypass” these clear Scriptural principles by claiming they do not “worship” Mary or saints, but rather that they only “venerate” Mary and the saints. Using a different word does not change the essence of what is being done. A definition of “venerate” is “to regard with respect or reverence.” Nowhere in the Bible are we told to revere anyone but God alone. There is nothing wrong with respecting those faithful Christians who have gone before us (see Hebrews chapter 11). There is nothing wrong with honoring Mary as the earthly mother of Jesus. The Bible describes Mary as “highly favored” by God (Luke 1:28). At the same time, there is no instruction in the Bible to revere those who have gone to heaven. We are to follow their example, yes, but worship, revere, or venerate, no! When forced to admit that they do, in fact, worship Mary, Catholics will claim that they worship God through her, by praising the wonderful creation that God has made. Mary, in their minds, is the most beautiful and wonderful creation of God, and by praising her, they are praising her Creator. For Catholics, this is analogous to directing praise to an artist by praising his sculpture or painting. The problem with this is that God explicitly commands against worshipping Him through created things. We are not to bow down and worship the form of anything in heaven above or earth below (Exodus 20:4-5). Romans 1:25 could not be more clear: “They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator-who is forever praised. Amen.” Yes, God has created wonderful and amazing things. Yes, Mary was a godly woman who is worthy of our respect. No, we absolutely are not to worship God “vicariously” by praising things (or people) He has created. Doing so is blatant idolatry. The major way Catholics “venerate” Mary and the saints is by praying to them. But prayer to anyone other than God alone is anti-biblical. Whether Mary and/or the saints are prayed to, or whether they are petitioned for their prayers-neither practice is biblical. Prayer is an act of worship. When we pray to God, we are admitting that we need His help. Directing our prayers to anyone other than God is robbing God of the glory that is His alone. Another way Catholics “venerate” Mary and the saints is by creating statues and images of them. Many Catholics use images of Mary and/or the saints as “good luck charms.” Any cursory reading of the Bible will reveal this practice as blatant idolatry (Exodus 20:4-6; 1 Corinthians 12:1-2; 1 John 5:21). Rubbing rosary beads is idolatry. Lighting candles before a statue or portrayal of a saint is idolatry. Burying a Joseph statue in hopes of selling your home (and countless other Catholic practices) is idolatry. The terminology is not the issue. Whether the practice is described as “worship” or “veneration” or any other term, the problem is the same. Any time we ascribe something that belongs to God to someone else, it is idolatry. The Bible nowhere instructs us to revere, pray to, rely on, or “idolize” anyone other than God. We are to worship God alone. Glory, praise, and honor belong to God alone. Only God is worthy to “receive glory and honor and power” (Revelation 4:11). God alone is worthy to receive our worship, adoration, and praise (Nehemiah 9:6; Revelation 15:4).

Fr. Thank you for this. My mother does in 2020 which I struggle to come to terms with daily. After hearing a Mother Angelica sermon randomly one day, who said "you have a mother in heaven" it lifted so much from me. I still struggle with the loss of my natural mother but take comfort in knowing Mother Mary.

Mary lived 2,000 years ago. Therefore, if you were not alive 2,000 years ago to see Mary, then you would not know what Mary look like. Therefore, if you thought someone appeared to you, you cannot say you saw Mary, because you were not living in the days of Mary, to know what Mary look like. To pray to Mary to get through to God, means that you have made Mary a Mediator, you are comming a Great Sin. And if you pray to all of the dead saints, they are also considered to be your mediator, which means you are committing additional sins. Because the Bible tells us 1 Timothy 2:5-6, that God only gave us one Mediator, and his name is Jesus. Which the man in this video did NOT tell you. Hello, I was raised Catholic all my life and attended mass but I always felt empty and wondered why God couldn't speak to me like He did to other people in the Bible. So I started to study the Bible and pray asking God to guide me. And I came to find the truth from God and that is only Jesus Christ is the only way to God. There is no such thing as Mary's intercessions or saints, purgatory or confession to priests. If you are searching for truth with your honest heart allow God to lead you and not man, because man errors many times Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jesus said, God is spirit and true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. Let the Lord lead you. John 4:23 Please don't follow religion. Follow Jesus.. Love in Christ. :)

I liked the last message of being kind. Thank you dear God for giving us Fr. mike who helps us to be more closer to you.

If mama Mary was good enough for Jesus, mama Mary is good enough for me. She is by my side all the time. Ave Maria.

I meditated on these words Jesus said “it is finished”. I feel like Jesus was/is very detailed and he is not a God of mistakes, he did not leave anything out from his mission including handing Mary to John and vice versa. This is such a blessing and a reconciliation from the sin of Eve, given to us by the messiah. Jesus did not just mumble words, He completed his mission and that is why we cannot do without Mary. Thank you Jesus for being so kind, loving and detailed.

I remember on my pilgrimage to Israel two years ago, when I went into my hotel room in Jerusalem, there was a beautiful scent of roses. When I was 4 years old, I was allowed to see Mary picking roses, and she said they were prayers she delivered to her Son.

Firstly, thank you for your teaching on this. Secondly, your explanations/analogies are incredibly helpful. Lastly, how do you say this stuff without appearing overly emotional? I'm a normal bloke, in England, successful as the world sees it and not one to show emotions. I've re-found my faith, am converting to Catholicism and this stuff just floors me. It's incredibly emotional for me. I was never taught this as a young evangelical Christian before I lost my faith. What you're saying makes so much sense and is SO helpful. Keep going, Mike.

Brad Uphill Catholics do not follow sola scriptura. So to understand catholicism, you must study catholic theology, and history. Born and raised catholic and I have not even read 10% of all that can be read on history and theology. Before I jump to conclusions, I'll study. I advise the same. :)

Brad Uphill You don’t seem to have enough knowledge about the teaching of the Catholic Church. Also, I’m assuming you belong to one of those reformed churches? I can’t understand how you guys in the US and other places insult each other and call other churches than yours “false”. You should come and see how we live in the middle east with love and respect and pray in each other’s churches, and 90% of Christians here don’t even know the difference between all those churches! Each glorifies God in their own way, we gotta love all people, God’s the judge! Much love, brother.

Our example lies in the Wedding Feast at Cana: The servants went to Mary, Mary went to Jesus, Jesus said "My hour has not yet come", but a Mother knows her own Son so she said to the servants, "Do whatever He tells you." Her trust in Him was absolute. It was not misplaced. He responded to His Mother. Therefore we can also go to Mary and she will take our requests to Jesus, who will respond to His Mother just as He did at Cana. That's her role, to point us to Jesus!

Thank you. As a protestant and born again christian looking into the Church, this made sense. I was doing morning prayers with a video here online and the focus on Mary made me uncomfortable. I am so used to focusing on God and Christ alone. It felt like idolatry because the same isn't done for St. Joseph. But this helped. I'll keep looking into it....bc there is a piece of it where I was taught not to pray to those who have passed away as well so it kind of feels like that too.

Mary is a model for us, and she is always pointing up to the Holy Trinity. The reason she is good to pray too is by contemplating her love for Our Lord Jesus we better understand how we should love Him ourselves.

She will never take care of you because she can't hear you and she has no supernatural ability. She passed away centuries ago and she is not the fourth member of the holy trinity. She was a special woman, but she was mortal like everybody else and was in dire need of salvation herself.

YOU: Jesus Christ created His own mother. *ME: You contradict the BIble. Adam and Eve were directly created by GOD/Elohim -- but everyone else is just a product of female eggs being fertilized by the seed of men -- Genesis 1:28 -- Mary's father is listed in Luke 3:23-39.* The ONLY other person to be directly created by GOD was the "Second Adam/Jesus/Second Son of God", who was created using the egg/womb of a descendant of King David (Luke 1:32) *by the Holy Spirit creative process called "overshadowing" (Luke 1:35). which is the SAME Holy Spirit creative process used to create this physical world out of the Void in Genesis 1:1-2.* The Void nor Mary are important, it is the creative power of GOD that is important.(Luke 1:37)

This is one the most beautiful things about Christianity.

People tend to forget that it's from the Blessed Virgin Mary that Christ assumed His Human Nature from in which through her Christ is a descendant of Adam. The Church is the Body of Christ as such He is one of us through the Blessed Virgin Mary as Christ said to the crowd you are my brothers and sisters as the Blessed Virgin Mary is His Mother through Him she becomes our Mother which is what Christ meant when He said to the crowd that you are My Mother. In this way the Church is connected to the Blessed Virgin Mary. As Christians we should never disrespect the Blessed Virgin Mary because of her Christ was made of flesh and blood as such that flesh was offered upon the cross and that blood shed for the forgiveness of sins.

Should you just have walked into the Holy of Holies and proclaimed this is just some space God chose He could have chose any space, or disregarded the ark of the covenant because it’s just a box and God could have chosen any box. Mary lived 2,000 years ago. Therefore, if you were not alive 2,000 years ago to see Mary, then you would not know what Mary look like. Therefore, if you thought someone appeared to you, you cannot say you saw Mary, because you were not living in the days of Mary, to know what Mary look like. To pray to Mary to get through to God, means that you have made Mary a Mediator, you are comming a Great Sin. And if you pray to all of the dead saints, they are also considered to be your mediator, which means you are committing additional sins. Because the Bible tells us 1 Timothy 2:5-6, that God only gave us one Mediator, and his name is Jesus. Which the man in this video did NOT tell you. You have a Bible, Read it for yourself, so that you will really know what is of God, and what is NOT!!!

Very nice! I love to hear priests talk about Mary. Maybe it's because to me Mary is the ultimate symbol of Catholicism, or maybe it's because she loves our good and holy priests SO MUCH.

You are being tempted to those feelings so that You do not draw close to she who ALWAYS leads souls to her Son, no matter their condition or state of confusion. Reject that temptation. You don’t read the Bible, if you did you would know that Mary was a vessel used by god, nothing more, Jesus draws people by his spirit, Mary doesn’t lead anyone to Christ, and she has no power! You may believe that Jesus is the son of god but you reject the gospel and you will not inherit the kingdom of god, nowhere in the Bible does it say to worship her, to give her glory, or to pray to her! This has helped me see Mary more clearly. Thankyou. I've been ruminating fir a long time about several things and Mary is a part if it. I've wondered if all time has produced the remnant that would lead to getting Mary on the scene. Our Lord Jesus existed forever and he could have come into the world at Snr time. But with the development of the law, there had to also be the special woman to recieve Jesus and introduce most perfectly grace and mercy. Mary answered that beed for....us.

( Quran 03:45-49) "[Mention] when God said, "O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to God alone] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ." ( Quran 3:55 )
