I'm sure it's been said a few times in the comments, but C. S. Lewis's The Space Trilogy (esp That Hideous Strength) very clearly warns about this. It's also easy to read and entertaining. Worth getting!

In the Bible, a "prophet" is not characterized as someone who predicts the future. In the Old Testament many of the them did do so, but a "prophet" is simply someone who proclaimis what God has said to the people. Sometimes in the Bible that entails prediction of the future, but often it is a call to repent. Thus, C.S. Lewis, with his particular insight into Scripture and ability to apply it to daily life that is still relevant 60 years after his passing, could legitimately be called a "prophet" in the biblical sense of the word.

“The Tao, which others may call Natural Law or Traditional Morality or the First Principles of Practical Reason or the First Platitudes, is not one among a series of possible systems of value. It is the sole source of all value judgments. If it is rejected, all value is rejected. If any value is retained, it is retained. The effort to refute it and raise a new system of value in its place is self-contradictory. There has never been, and never will be, a radically new judgment of value in the history of the world. What purport to be new systems or…ideologies…all consist of fragments from the Tao itself, arbitrarily wrenched from their context in the whole and then swollen to madness in their isolation, yet still owing to the Tao and to it alone such validity as they posses.”-C.S. Lewis

The 20th century concept of the "autonomous self" is unknown to Biblical writers, who said we were created in God's image. In the Biblical world, either the true God or false gods are the reference point for human beings. This is why Biblical writers often connected the understanding of God (worship) with how humans understood or expressed themselves (identity/sex). (Note the connection between Leviticus 17 [false worship] and Leviticus 18 [false sexual practice]. When the Church Council in Acts 15 said that the only part of the law the Gentiles should keep, they referenced issues related to blood and sexuality...purity of worship and purity of sex...the Holiness Code! Acts 15:29]) It is also why Paul says in Romans 1 that if you loose the Creator/creation distinction, you lose the distinctions between men and women. Pan-theism leads to pan-sexuality. We become what we worship...and, as the great theologian Bob Dylan sang: "Your gonna have to serve somebody..."

People don't realize how long they have been blindly doing this. All religions have been filled with saints and prophets and all sorts of idols that people pray to and say their names and ask them for stuff instead of the true creator. Don't give thanks or ask from any one but GOD

The Last Battle is also highly prophetic. Particularly the wilful mixing of the (pagan) Calormene religion of Tash with belief in Aslan to give "Tashlan". The individuals deliberately doing this believe in neither. They have a very nasty surprise when the monster Tash turns out to be real and claims them for its own. Yet how often do we see politicians and even some church leaders claiming that all religions are the same, wilfully mixing God/Yahweh with the deity of a certain other religion?

Please understand!!! That Satan is NOT a person!!!! Satan is a way of thinking… The “adversary” is our own hearts, rebelling against Gods word and will. That is why Jesus told petter, get behind me Satan….! Because you do not put your will, eyes and soul in Gods will… “Satan” can be manifested by all created beings! Humans, angels, underworld entities. And those that are condemn are “satans”. Adversaries to Gods will because of hate.

I'm not so sure. Whatever it is, it is evil, it is intelligent and it targets and tempts people away from the truth. I think CS Lewis got it fairly right in the Screwtape Letters. Once you see through it, it is pathetic, even comical just like Screwtape and Wormwood. But then it always finds new temptations and new ways to attack, so you can't let your guard down.

Not! CS Lewis was aware of God from within the words in the Bible. He followed Catholicism not the Bible. Following the Bible IS ALL WE HAVE! There are no other writings that harmonize what the Bible says, means, implies, expects or explains! No denominational doctrines are to be used when reading the Bible. The Bible speaks for itself. The Bible rests with all other scriptures from within itself. It never contradicts itself (within context). God wrote the Bible through the souls and minds of the men that HE chose for HIS purpose. Yes, he is Sovereign-No, Calvinism is not God's Word nor did HE "Inspire" any of the Reformed leaders that created a new form of religion in the 1500's which has nothing to do with the Bible but IS The Doctrines of Men that the Apostle Paul vehemently warned us would come before he was executed. The Bible is the only way anyone will go to heaven. The Bible is cheap and available to most on this planet. Those that can read and study the Bible but do not, do so because they choose not to. The traditions and history of Catholicism and Reformed Theology are not found in the Bible. The Bible is easy to read. It is impossible to read the Bible and get any ideas that it means anything other than what it says. Opinion and commentary and Satan have invented denominations and commentary. The Bible is true. The doctrines of men are not from God or the Bible. Flee from all denominations but read God's word and repent.
