Is there any room for purely 2d artists anymore? People who draw and paint? or would it be in my best interest to learn some 3d like Blender and Daz studio? I'm interested in characters and creatures. I also wouldn't mind working in video games and movies. I know concept art is about design and ideas rather than pretty pictures like illustration so I was just wondering.

honestly i personally am not an expert on this like most guests i bring on the podcast but that being said i think if you can make yourself stand out from the crowd in any field theres a chance you can make your own personal brand with your art even tho lets say wont make it in the industry big time like a lot of people in the past 2 decades. sorry if my response was a bit general but all in all dont lose hope and good luck out there!
