Why Arne SLOT is the Right Man for Liverpool!
Liverpool finally have a new coach to replace Jurgen Klopp! In this video, Vamosito channel will tell you about Arne Slot, his coaching approach, why the Reds chose him and what to expect from the Dutch manager!

Who is Arne Slot
Arne Slot is a representative of the new generation of Dutch coaches. He is 45 years old and started his coaching career less than 10 years ago.
There are several milestones in Arne's career that show very well that this manager has something special. With his first club Cambuur Slot, playing in the second Dutch league - Eerste Divisie - reached the Cup semifinals. In addition to being the best result in the history of this small club, Cambuur knocked Ajax out of the competition along the way.
Interestingly, in that season Cambuur were eliminated in the semifinals only in a penalty shootout, losing to AZ Alkmaar, which became Slot's future club. In 2017, Arne joined AZ as an assistant, and in 2019, he got a chance to lead the team.
And here we come to another great achievement of our hero. To put it in perspective, AZ in the Netherlands is like Tottenham in England. A team that is considered a big name, but is almost always overshadowed by other top teams like Ajax, Feyenoord or PSV.
Arne's work at AZ was so impressive that he almost won the team's first league title since 2009. Actually, he neither won nor lost it. The fact is that we are talking about the 2019/20 season, which was interrupted due to Covid. In the Netherlands, they decided not to finish the season, and therefore no champion was determined. At the time of the suspension, AZ shared the first place with Ajax, being behind the Amsterdam side only by goal difference.
Despite the fact that we never saw the end of the season, Slot's talent did not go unnoticed, and before the start of the 2021/22 campaign, Arne became Feyenoord's head coach.
In his very first season, Slot reached the Conference League final with the team, which was Feyenoord's first European final in 20 years. It is worth reminding that the Dutch lost in the final to Jose Mourinho's Roma. The following season, Arne comfortably won the Eredivisie with his team, outperforming their closest opponent PSV by 7 points and losing only two matches out of 34. Moreover, this season Feyenoord won the Dutch Cup.
It is quite logical that all these results did not go unnoticed, and big European clubs began to take an interest in Slot. Perhaps not everyone thought that this coach was worthy to replace Jurgen Klopp in Liverpool, but there are actually more reasons to believe in this manager than you think.
Why Liverpool chose Slot
Many reputable journalists, including David Ornstein, Fabrizio Romano and Paul Joyce, have written about the negotiations between Liverpool and Arne Slot.
It is currently known that Liverpool and Feyenoord have not reached an agreement on the release clause for the coach, but there is no doubt that the deal will be done.

So why did the Reds decide to reject Ruben Amorim and switch to Slot? Actually, the answer lies in the style of play that Arne advocates.
We will show you two metrics and you will understand everything. Since Slot took over at Feyenoord in 2021, in the top 7 leagues, Liverpool is the second best team in terms of possession won in the final third with 706.
Do you know the only team that surpassed Klopp's men? That's right, Slot's Feyenoord with 722!
And one more thing: since 2021, the two teams that have gained the most points from losing positions are Liverpool and Feyenoord - 62 points each. Any other questions?
Liverpool's sporting director Michael Edwards, who is in charge of the recruitment process, is prioritizing the club's identity. Liverpool must play intense attacking football with lots of goals and attacks even after Jurgen Klopp's departure.
Edwards is known for being willing to make unpopular decisions and take risks. He would rather make a bold bet on Slot, who is exactly in line with the club's vision and values, than choose a more star-studded manager who won't guarantee rocknroll on the pitch.
Slot ticks all the boxes for Liverpool. And it's not just about style. In particular, he won the Dutch league with the third biggest budget after Ajax and PSV. For Liverpool, the coach's ability to squeeze the most out of the available resources is key to success. The Reds can't spend as much as Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, or Manchester United, so they have to win through other means.
This other includes trust in young players, which of course includes promoting players from the academy.
The 45-year-old puts emphasis on youth development. Feyenoord's average age is 23.9, fifth-youngest in Eredivisie.

My whole life I am a Feyenoord supporter. So that is now close to 54 years. Arne is one of our best coaches we ever had. He is loved and respected by supporters, players, staff, opponents, media and will be surely missed. You will get a great coach, give him love and support and you will love him too. Liverpool is getting a very modern coach, who knows how to develop players as no one else. He’s a good person in every way and knows how to make people really admire him for his tactical ability and general positive attitude towards football and live. Feyenoord will miss him very much, but we understand that this chance is unique for him and we really are grateful and wish him and Liverpool all the best, with love from the Feyenoord-supporters!

Tbh with you the only 2 players from feyenoord i consider liverpool worthy players (for now than) are mats wieffer and the best of the team David Hanco. I dont think anyone else should be a candidate. And i think slot things the same way about it. Really love to see David Hanco at liverpool, left leg centre back can also play left back. For 3 years verry stable with a growth to his play every game, i am telling you this man is a beast

Excellent informational video
Arne is a norse name originally meaning "eagle", arn. In norwegian today the name for eagle is ørn.
You couldnt be more wrong about the transfers. Hartman is injured for at least 9 months and would need all of nexr season to reach his old level. Gimenez is NOT ready for the PL and can definitely not carry such an important position at Liverpool. Wieffer might be a good option but i cannot imagine as a starting player. It would be more logical for Wieffer to try a club like Atletico or Dortmund, but who knows? Wieffer has shown an ability to adapt to higher levels quickly. The only players I see making an immediate impact at Liverpool are Hancko, who is a great LCB and could play PL level and is the right age (26) and Geertruida, who is 1 of the most talented and versatile players in Europe. Geertruida can play RB, midfield and center back and has a ton of experience for his young age. Another interesting player would be Quinten Timber who is showing tremendous promise on midfield, but i think 1 more year at Feyenoord would be needed to really ripen. And of course, Turkish international Orkun Kokcu, who played his best football on the midfield under Slot and has played last season at Benfica.

Agree. I have followed him for years in the Netherlands. I think he will surprise you. He is a great communicator, he can convict players in his style of playing and they go through the fire for him because they see that he makes them better. With less quality players and less money they where better dan PSV and Ajax lost year. This year they crushed Ajax with gallery play and a historic 6-0. In the champions league they were better then Atletico Madrid and Lazio Roma (only less efficient but with a very small budget in comparing) A perfect match for Liverpool. I wish Liverpool all the best. My favorite English club. We're gonna miss Slot as a coach of Feyenoord but what better club he can go then Liverpool!

I dont think the high pressing will work with the current players. Since Sadio and the others left out pressing is really bad and not working. Younger players are not ready to work as hard as for example Sadio Mane.

That was exactly what i tought when 10 new young players arrived each year at our club (feyenoord). But every year he transformed them all to the biggest workingmachines in the whole competition, every trainer has good tacktics, the hardest part is to let the players play how you want too, and you need to be able to reach young players and let them walk an extra mile every game. "Slot is known for using youth players, that's why we think he's going to buy 4 new players". It doesn't account for Salah potentially leaving either. Gakpo is a left winger, Klopp tried him in midfield and it was a disaster. Elliott is a midfielder nowadays. If he's changed position might aswell consider a position change for Trent who is really bad defensively. Gomez is also a CB not a RB, he was played there because of the lack of depth due to injuries but Bradley has broken through. Kelleher is pretty much guaranteed to leave for a starting job at another club.
I can't wait to see how he transforms Liverpool in the (Slot Machine) Loool 😅 All jokes, a side as a Liverpool fan, I'm excited to see what happens next season, I'm backing him because I got a feeling he is going to do bits. 💯👍🙏🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆

Alot of senior players have let him down this season particularly Salah, Nunez, Szobozlai, Robertson, Trent etc. They stopped giving 100% because they know he's going. Very sad.

Klopp was unlucky not to win at least one more title, but he won every trophy. Premier League, Champions League, Club World Cup, FA Cup, League Cup. To get 97 points and not win the title was crazy. He will forever be a Liverpool legend.

Unfortunately Klopp will be remembered for coming up short on numerous occasions. He’s been great in fixing a sleeping giant but, he’s not won what he should’ve. He should have at least 2 CL’s and 2 PL’s. 1 of each is not good enough

Given with a short experience as manager in the Dutch league and little experience in the European cups is a very concern. On top of it the level of football at the Dutch league and EPL is different. There is also the pressure and the media as the top EPL manager that if he can evwn handle. Do not have a real good feeling with that..
Think for transfers there can be some better options: - Kerkez from Bournemouth at LB - Willian Pacho from Frankfurt has also been heavily linked as the long term LCB successor - Robert Andrich from Leverkusen could be a solid rotation with Endo for CDM. He’s a different profile, more of a destroyer than Endo. - Bakayoko from PSV as the LT Salah successor; I see Gakpo retaining the LW spot should Diaz leave

Hopefully Slot can work on him and getting his finishing to what we are looking for. Nunez problem is that he is trying too hard to score. He just needs to place them in instead of trying to break the net.
Slot is the best Dutch trainer coach ever. I've watched most every press conference and interview of him and enjoyed every sec. Very smart, funny and eloquent guy, a world class football expert, workaholic, communicator, leader and human. Has performed miracles for Feyenoord last 3 years generating hundreds of millions of transfer value and taking the title from Ajax with just half of their budget. Beat the also richer PSV for the first time in a year in Holland to eventually win the Dutch FA Cup. And he was on his way to win the title with AZ for the first time in over a decade (before covid stopped him). Ten Hag winning the title with Ajax in a time their budget was bigger than all their competitors combined was nothing special. Comparing him to Slot is like Sheffield Utd to Real Madrid. 15 million for him and his staff will prove to be a steal. Would have never allowed him to leave for less than 30 million which still would have been a present. And as for Liverpool's supposed superiority: you didn't even play CL. And got beaten by the Italian nr 6 Atalanta while the nr 5 Roma couldn't beat Feyenoord (except by penalties). Hancko, Geertruida, Hartman (after recovery from his injury in 2025), Wieffer, Q.Timber, Stengs (if 100% fit, he's only 80% now) and Gimenez (in his old shape) would all be assets for Liverpool.

is having gained the most points from a losing position impressive though? yes, you could call them mentality monsters and comeback kings but doesn’t that also mean they concede too often. I’d prefer winning a game comfortably by 2-0 Like City does over going 0-1 behind and winning 3-1 which requires way more energy from the players.

I recommend selling the following players for two reasons. The players in question are either getting on in years or their performances of late do not meet the grade where it counts. So, which players do I have in mind? I believe that the following players should be sold, and certain replacements be brought in instead: Virgil Van-Dijk; Robertson, Tsimikas, Salah, and Darwin Nunez. I am also wondering about Luis Diaz and Gakpo.

@@charlesfriel5570 I am assuming you meant to talk to me. As far as Endo is concerned, he was brought in to meet a need, which, I would argue, he has done a very good job of meeting. However, he was brought in as a stopgap solution to the problem that needed to be addressed, which has not been fully addressed. There is still a need for a holding DM, so invariably someone will be added. Mac Allister was not originally brought in to fulfil that role. He initially stood in the gap to meet the need because Endo was not ready to step into the role. He did eventually begin to meet the criteria that Klop was looking for in A DM, and so he started to play instead of Mac Allister. Moreover, when Endo is not around to play, Mac Allister is able to step in and fulfil the role. When Bajcetic is fully reintegrated into the team, then perhaps he will be able to likewise be someone who could play as a DM, which will mean that Mac Allister will be released to play the position/role best suited for him. However, since Endo is 30 years of age, he like Robertson and Van-Dijk will need to eventually be replaced. They can all still fulfil their respective roles, but I would argue that someone younger should be brought in to compete with them and eventually take over - perhaps sooner than later. I neglected to mention Endo because the main problem, as evidenced by our form of late, is in defense and in attack. We have been rather vulnerable in defense, letting in too many avoidable goals and not ruthless or clinical enough in attack, not scoring them when we should have done. I don't know why you mentioned Jones and Gravenberch. They have both played an integral part in the team/midfield. They both bring something different.
Wieffer, Hartman and Gimenez are not Liverpool level. Only Hancko (LCV/LB) is good enough

Don’t take too many Dutch players. Just fill in the gaps with what is available at Liverpool already, so the youngsters see they have a chance ⚽️⚽️⚽️
Van Dijk and Hancko is the centre? Nice. He'll be fine. Slot is in many ways the same as Klopp. He is a good communicator with players, fans and press. He is prossessed by the game and asks the same from the players. Liverpool is like Feyenoord, only way bigger.
As an African, am so many disappointed in Salah. Never confront a hand that raised you no matter what they have said about you. I guess that was his downfall 😢😢

Imo only let salah go for 100m to saudi, but i dont see a replacement for robertson yet. Also an upgrade for endo, who has done really good for his price tag, but just isnt the level we need for competing for the title.

The saddest part is Slot can't be involved in the transfer decisions and it's up to Edwards and Richard Hughes.. Wiffer would be a good addition and you forget to mention orkun kokcu.. he is not satisfied with benifica now..

The premier league has much higher standards and quiality, Arne Slot is NOT on that level yet. And Liverpool has to use the young players we have, like DANNS, This player get even big or bigger then Mo Salah, according his perfomance where he scored 2 goals, its a technical player, and he can read a game, thats something a lot players can,t, so let Danns play, mark my words, he is gonna be a verry important player for liverpool., and please, Do NOT take Slot as a coach.

@@mrwin3511 Mourinho will recruit winners. He has an eye for quality players.Not players that cannot pass, cross or shoot. These players will cost a bit of money. Not cheap. As for liverpool's play. It is trash. Forcing teams into mistakes isnt quality football. I would much rather see us create our own chances through open play. That is quality football. One league in nine. That isnt how we became such a great.
He will follow in the footsteps of Van Gaal, Ruud Koeman and Tin Haag in achieving titles in the English Premier League😏
