Wow. I’m in Bali and just tried to use my clippers, big horrible racket. Spent some time trying to fix em in my hotel room. SO thankful to have found your video. I’ll go to an actual barber for three weeks instead ;-)
U posted this video 4 years ago and it is still useful to date 2019... I have a wahl clipper and the sound is annoying after watching your video i now understand why it sounds like that.. Thanks for posting.
O man this is exactly my issue right now. Expat living in Germany and bought some clippers to save money on haircuts. Reviews were great and specifically said they were quite but using them with a 50-60 hz transformer they are HORRIBLE. Thank you for this.
Very good.. I had the same problem a few days back and was thinking what was wrong.. now I get it. Thank 🙏🏼 you Sir!
There is also an adjustment screws on some models to correct the distance so there won't be a "bang" sound.
Thank you. Great explanation! Ive been trying to figure out why my wall clippers are soooo freakin annoyingly loud overseas plugged into my inverter box. Cheers.
So after spending about half an hour trying to fix my noise problem in myclippers, following all steps correctly that I could find (adjusting tuners, lining up blades, cleaning up my clippers etc), I ran into this video. I forgot to consider in the fact that I am trying to use US clippers in Europe (with a US->EU adapter no less) without that handy device you have in the video. Who would have thought?? Not me!! I’m glad I ran into this because I wouldn’t have quit till I somehow made them work or did something dumb!! Thank you!
Thank you!! I was trying to figure out what was wrong with my clippers
Thank you! We live overseas and have watched so many videos trying to troubleshoot our ultra-loud Wahl clippers. Now we finally know the reason!

I got q clipper fr9n saudi arabia and it says in the box 60hz. I Tried to use it here in the UK and it made the same noise in your video. Going to Boots now to purchase a new on and will look in thr box wheere it says 50hz 220v. Helpful vid and keep it up. CHEERS!!!
Thanks for this video. I live in Jamaica - where we run on 50Hz like the UK, but only 110v - closer to the US 120v. I hardly use my clipper (a Wahl) that I purchased in the US because of how loud it is. After trying many times to adjust it with no success, this video finally explained why. I won't bin the clippers again, but I'm wondering how many other appliances in my house are under-performing for the same reason.

I wonder if the difference are the tuning springs being 2 different tensions for the models so if you swap them it corrects this.
I bought a pair of oster fast feeds and used with both a standard 50hz converter as well as your 60hz converter which I bought from ebay. There's no noise difference but the clippers sound like they are moving considerably faster. Is this normal and what I should expect?
I have an Oster Fast Feed 12watt ...does it have more power than the new Fast Feeds at 9watt?

Thank you sir for this video learned a lot of things, but I had a question I have a converter I tested the wahl pilot works fine no noise, but on the corded wahl premium senior it does a huge noise as if it's the cordless senior a bit louder. I tried to adjust the power didn't do anything, tried to open it up and push on the moving arm next to the big screw saw a video on it the guy had the same noise as my corded senior. But still nothing, I also find yours a bit noisy compared to videos I'v seen I know how the legend sounds so when I saw somebody comparing his clippers (he had the same corded senior premium and it was almost the same as a corded legend). So I tried to contact some barbers that have the corded wahl senior and someone told me it was the spring, but when I opened it removed the blade, there was no spring only the cutting blade holder, with some sponge to hold the hair from entering the clipper. When I tried to put it on while there was no blade it made I crazy sound I was shocked, I don't dare to put it back on.

@@chicksboii Yeah I used to just turn it off for a couple of seconds to let the motor rest a little while moving to different parts of the head. But it wouldn't help much with the temperature though because once it gets hot, it stays hot for quite a while and I did not want to wait too long for it to cool down. As for the attachment, I used the lowest, the 1/16" guard. Basically any sizes, as long as it keeps the blade from direct contact with your scalp.
