These are the same people who cry a river when they are scammed online or otherwise. If you treat people like commodities and tools, don't be surprised when they treat you the same. @hayat3428
Жыл бұрын
@@janellrr7395 Yes, some of them are appreciative and okay with the relationship, and depending on how big or small the age gap is, it works sometimes. However, many of them are doing it out of desperation to get out of poverty, often sacrificing their true happiness because it's not only about them, they have expectations from their families to get them out of poverty as well. There's a reason these tourists go to the poorest Asian and African countries for these sorts of relationships. It's because they know these desperate people will do anything for the promise of a better life. At least the "cougars" seem to go after 28-40 year old men. From what I've seen, the male tourists often go after 18-20 year old girls whose brains haven't fully developed, sometimes even younger than that.

Not entirely. While the flockers may, indeed, be on a desperate quest for love by those incapable of loving - their protohuman counter-party is looking for: 1. Shag objects; 2. White shag objects; 3. I think it was achieved this by showing us two middle-aged people who loved each other & who got married and their families were involved in the marriage, the family of the man who lived in that country was involved which is usually what they say marriage is about, although with older people it is less so.

Men are supposed to marry women younger than them because young women are easier to edify. You obviously picked the wrong man but relationships are reflective, were you the perfect wife? I think people need to stop blaming others for their misfortunes and start being more introspective.

This reminds me of the magazines my Mum would read when I was a kid. "65 yr old Gran heartbroken when her 21 yr old Greek lover scams her of life savings. 42 yr old son says he'll get revenge!". Funny how when it's older men going to S.E Asia or Latin countries though, they're creeps according to the media but when older women do it, they're lonely and seeking love.

I am a Gambian and this is a daily sight... Older tourists with very young Gambians. I see it as a transactional relationship with both parties knowing what the other wants. However, it is not only due to poverty but motivated by greed. People like showing off.

I really wish they had included the perspective of local Gambian women. Do they feel like the dating pool has been severely restricted or do they feel lucky that it now excludes a very specific type of man that they may not be interested in? In what other ways does this phenomenon impact the local dating pool? So interesting.

The British -- against the resistance of many African kings, indeed. (Including the "woman king".)
Met a 30 year old Gambian while in Texas. I asked him what his occupation was & he said he had 4 older British ladies taking care of him, why would he work. He was visiting his 20 year old girlfriend in Houston. I thought he was full of it. Gosh he was probably telling the truth.

First of all, l Thank You for doing this interview. My Heart is saddened and My Prayers go up for Gambia and the People of Gambia. The real damage that is being allowed to happen to Gambia is that the Beautiful Black Men who were Divinely Designed to Head up the Family and the Beatiful Black Women who were Divinely Designed to be a Helpmeet to them is Truly but sadly being destroyed. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🥰💞

I lived in The Gambia for a year and used to visit the beachfront stretch around the Bungalow Beach Hotel and The Kairaba Hotel in 1995. This issue of old women coming from Europe to sexually "feast" on desperately poor locals (aka bumsters), is not a recent matter. Kudos to Seyi Rhodes for doing a decent and balanced reportage on this ongoing subject. By and large, The Gambia is a great tourist destination for people who are desirous of escaping from the cold wintry days of Europe and the rest of the world.
