My dad told me that once him and my mom were in the 4 year mark of their relationship he thought about planning a special proposal and for that WHOLE year he was planning. Officially once 5 years hit..he proposed. My mom still remembers that day. Sure, you don't have to do an over the top thing but PUT effort and make it speak love. show the person you TRULY want to stay with them. I felt so bad for her,,I don’t know if that’s me reading into things too much but the entire video it’s almost like she slowly realises what a person she’s truly been with for these 10 years. Proposing in a car (she didn’t even care about what kind of ring it was I think, she was just upset that he didn’t even try to do something romantic), filming her without her consent, refusing to accept her answer, not leaving her alone and starting to take her stuff from her cause “he payed for it”. Like holy shit, by the end of that video I was so disgusted by him, and I feel like she just didn’t see his true colours until that moment. I bet that she feels bad that she wasted 10 years on that guy, but to be honest, it’s good that she realised now and dumped him, before they went more serious. My parents waited 25 years to get married, but only because I have 2 mums, and the Australian laws prevented them from marriage. If they could choose, they would have gotten married within 5 years. But people out there actually have a choice and are able to get married, and they take that for granted, and end up like this.

OMG. That is one of the worst proposals I’ve ever seen, if someone proposed to me like that I would personally get out of that car and walk home to pack my things. There is no way I am staying in that car when this man has the audacity to put absolutely no thought into one of the biggest commitments in life, also after 10 years of having time to plan it, and has the nerve to film me. My parents love walking, so my dad proposed on a walk, in a nice holiday place, on my mums terms, that’s simple, but thoughtful, she has the absolute right to break it off with him, he can keep that cheap ring.

Even if weren't proposed to while driving a moving vehicle, you still have the right to say no. That's why it's a question, not a statement. After a decade she deserves - at the bare minimum - a thoughtful one. You can tell it's not the first time something like this has happened before.
