I grew up listening to John Michael. I am in Rcia and am planning on entering the church later this year. I grew up protestant. But my mother liked Michael Card and truly loved the Brother to brother album. Eventually, we had multiple JMT's albums. I would like to think God used him, through his music to soften my heart towards Catholics and the church as I became an adult I don't remember having the typical protestant attitude towards catholics which eventually led to me attending Catholic Mass and working towards not only myself, but bringing my children into the church as well.

How do you reconcile all the praying to Mary and dead people in the RCC when the bible tells us in Deuteronomy 5 not to make any graven image. How can the pope give you time of purgatory? Do you really believe that when the pipe sits excathedra - his words can overrule the Bible? Do you really believe that the bread of the mass turns into the body of Christ? Surely Jesus died once for repentant sinners. Beware of false christs.

My husband and I were married in 1979. He became a Christian right after we were married, he was raised Episcopalian. I was raised Assemblies of God and we attended first assembly of God in Memphis where I and where we lived. At the time. I grew up with a mother who was an opera singer and was paid to sing in various churches throughout the Memphis area. Her brother was also and opera singer but on a professional level. So I grew up around all the cultural arts and when we came upon. John Michael Talbot's music, I think it was around 1981 or 1982, we were both hooked! We would play his music every evening before we went to bed and would be on the couch together and just meditate on the words of the music. They are very scriptural and we love it! I still have most of his music that I have bought CDs now and back then we had them on cassette. We love the heart of God inJohn. Michael Talbot.

Catholics, Please do not take your Faith for granted. Time might never be on our hands again so now is the moment so let us dust ourselves, live lives most pleasing to God Most High, not worldly, and carry the torch of Christ and be sure we will receive our just and eternal reward. Like devout Bishop Fulton Sheen, deliberately delayed of Canonization by some corrupt clerics, said that in the end it will be eternal Heaven or hell.

I had the honor to be able to see John Michael and Terry at a charismatic conference at the fountain blue Hilton on Miami Beach back in the early 80s. Andre Crouch and The Pat Terry Group and a bunch more were playing for Jesus. Campus Life Youth for Christ had already gotten me out of the Catholic Church and I didn't like it. That was a priority for Bill Bright and Jim Green in South Florida. If you were a Catholic, you would be pulled out of the Catholic Church. Keith Green was a favorite of mine back in the day and I almost went to Last Days just before he died. Music has been such a huge part of my journey Home, but I can only play the radio 😅 John Michael, probably my favorite is Behold Now the Kingdom, and See with New Eyes ☝️🙏 I'm forever grateful for Steve Wood for taking the time to talk to me while he was writing his chapter of Surprised by Truth back in the early 90'. By the time I finished the second of four cassette tapes, I knew that I had to come back Home and I was going to lose many friends. I did, and I did. Praise God Almighty ☝️🙏 Viva Cristo Rey

Three of my favorite songs by John Michael are One Faith, Only in God, and I Am the Bread of Life, but I've never heard a John Michael Talbot song that I didn't like and I've been listening to his music for over forty years. I'll be seventy two in August. God bless.

I'm a protestant, or perhaps I should call us Bible believers. We use the Early Church so-called Fathers to show that the early, pre-Augustinian church did not believe in Calvinism. RCC automatically co-opts the whole history of Christianity, all the way back to Jesus, but Jesus said that Simon was _petros,_ (m), little rock or piece of gravel, and upon this _petra,_ (f) big, bedrock, I will build my church. We date RCC to the Edict of Toleration by Constantine, so we don't accept the RCC as the first church, but rather simple, biblical faith in Jesus.

Oh my goodness! John Michael's observations on the Church in the West...individualism and individuated...are right on! As well, as a nearly 80 yr. old who just celebrated 55 yrs in the Church what he says about the condition of the Church and the loss of the contemplative in our culture speaks directly to the longing in my heart and reflects my fears for the future. This is going out to all my Catholic friends, young and old, to hear these prophetic utterances from this iconic Christian elder! Blessings on you both!

I was introduced to Talbot at SCRC (So CA Charismatic Renewal) in 1980. He’s been my favorite Catholic musician. Still love to listen to my CD Come to the Quiet. In my Bible I put 🎵 notes & can sing the Psalms as I read. His music & talks have deepened my faith, as JM says, gives me the spark that draws me to Jesus & Mary.💝

JMT and his brother Terry made 2 records in the 80s that are huge for me: “The Painter” and “No Longer Strangers.” Anyone who’s remotely interested in “Christian contemporary music” should listen to them both, but especially “The Painter.” I hope to shake his hand someday, in thanks for what those records have done for me spiritually and musically.

Thank you for the video. After 3 years in the Army I became a convert during early college years.. I remember one album 'Listen'. It really touched home. I note a lot of dynamic surges in Catholic essence, from a full Carmelite monastery being built in Wyoming to the very solid Canons of St. John Cantius 'Bringing back the Sacred through Liturgy' in of all places Chicago ..a Democratic party [Communist] center. I hope the prediction of the West loosing everything is not going to occur. [meaning I guess churches, bookstores, religious goods stores, etc] At the same time I note the predictions from Garabandal, Spain and the endorsement by St. Padre Pio as to the Marian authenticity of that message ... and it's a very scary situation. The Surrender Prayer Novena is a great one for keeping balance ... no matter what God and His justice requires of our human family. God is loving ALL the time. ALL the time God is loving.

Thank you John Michael, for following God’s voice & purpose for you. Even though I actually had a Mason Profitt album, it was at Bible School (Portland Oregon) where I first heard a worship song which produced a deep soul response in me. That song was “Create in me, a clean heart O God. ….Let me like You in all Your ways…” And so began my journey of being nurtured, comforted, and encouraged towards a deeper walk with Christ. The praise belongs to the Lord, of course. ❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏
