This is so cool to hear the Other Side of Scott Hahn's story. He tells about talking to some previous pastor after Scott had become Catholic who had called in shock about Scott's decision. Given the dialog Ken tells, at least one of those guys was Ken. Glad you came Home, too, Ken. Enjoyed your journey story.

I am just floored by this conversion story, he touched on so many things that I am currently experiencing. I am in RCIA and leaving a baptist/non-denominational church. When this gentleman described hearing a protestant argument and saying that his search was over and he could remain baptist.. only to be pulled back like a magnet.. I have been TELLING people this! I have just been describing it as a thorn in my side! This was SO encouraging for me to hear right now.

Great interview.. the section where he relays a story about Scott Hahn- goes like this: Somebody in his congregation, a young teenager or maybe somebody in their early 20s, asked Scott where in the Bible does it say “sola scripture” or by the Bible alone.. Scott looks at him and and is stumped, then says “well that’s a stupid question! “ The kid then says “well, give me a stupid answer. “ I thought that was such a funny story that Scott told- I’ve heard it a couple of times on some different, KZread channels where he’s talking about his early days before Catholicism. I’m always fascinated with all of these protestant ministers, who basically turned to Catholicism at some point the bravery of basically ending your career, or forcing yourself to go out of business, and something you’ve done all your life is incredibly brave to do especially for these pastors with wives and young kids.. They are really putting themselves into economically dire situation.. I guess that’s why “journey home “ is such a powerful ministry for these people… thank God For Marcus Grodi

Wonderful testimony. Dr. Hulitt Gloer (Truett Seminary) was one of my professors who deeply valued a yearly retreat at the Monastery of Christ in the Desert (Abiquiú, New Mexico). I often think about that special week we students spent in the desert with Dr. Gloer. It is a bit ironic that I too never gave Catholicism a serious look until recently. This year, after much study, prayer and discussion, my family and I have started the process of converting to Catholicism. Praise be to God for His patience with those of us who have to wander afar before coming home. PS - As a military retiree, nice "handle" for the show!

I am listening to you and remember how I felt going to Incarnate Word School. The school is part of an old Mission! The Catholic sisters our teachers would make us spend time playing ball after we finish lunch! So I didn't like playing any kind of sport so I would spend an hour just sitting on the last pew of the church! I would hear the school bell and go in the school building,! I am old and still go to Holy Mass , got married and my kids all married there!; Sometimes I still go and still sit on the last pew , and meditate for a while! I still receive Holy Communion and feel I am real! I see videos on Christian churches and the way they pass a tray with little cookies to and a tray with wine in tiny cups and people grab and compare Holy Communion in the Catholic Church! We believe Jesus is present in the Holy Eucharist! And we receive it from the priest and not a tray passed around for everyone to get one , I felt closer to my belief,!

Well I'm curious. Went to Mass with neighbors most of my teen years - whilst being a Methodist. Now 45 years later I went to mass last week at a tiny new chapel in town. Just loved the vibe and sincere people. Only found the way the priest presented the service SO off-putting. He is from a different culture where louder is probably seen as a better message, and literally screamed at us the whole time. All the prayers were rambled off as if he was in such a rush - no heart to it. I would love to visit again, but not if I'm going to be bombarded like that. This parish is the only option for 120km. For each human it ought to be about Jesus Christ, and Him Crucified. He came to earth, became a human being, lived a sinless life ,took all our sins on Him on the Cross of Calvary, 2000 years ago in Jerusalem, Israel, and on the 3rd day God raised Him from the dead and He is alive. Why else did Jesus come down to earth? To take our sins on Him so we may be washed by His blood and, being born again we are righteous, through faith through our Lord Jesus Christ, and what He has done. So now we have peace with God , because of our faith in Jesus . How wil the world know that we are His children , because we have love for one another . We should be united in Christ and Him as the centre of our focus . It shouldn't be what I want , but what Jesus wants . When one go from one denomination to another and then back again, people might think that it is about what I want , and not what Jesus wants . Did Paul maybe die for us ? Or Peter or Barnabas ? No , Jesus died forr us , so our hearts and minds should be on Him , not on what I want or what sounds right dor me ... We must be careful ro not become "me or i" centered, bit we should become Christ centered. Just now we become tossed to an throw like a ship on rough sees . It was when Petee kept his eyes on Jesus, that he got out of that boat, in pitch darkness in the middle of a stormy sea ...but the moment He started to focus on what was going on around him , he sank ... Lucky for us ,who Jesus is ,that He is faithful! Because even after Peter lost faith in those moments and started to sink, hthe moment he cried Lord save me ,Jesus grabbed him by his arm and restored him immediately. Let us focus again on Jesus , the One who not only created us, but came to warth, died and rose again ! We await Him from heaven , whom God also raised from the dead, the Son of God, to save us from the wrath of God that is too come upon the world . We should die , so Jesus might become more in our lives , so others who are still in darkness may see His glorious light in us . But the more sand grains one throw on a flashlights glass, the less light wil shine from it , and the more things we are busy with other then Jesus, the less His light wil shine from us . Let's be the body , not the muddy . Grace and mercy ,peace and joy of the Lord Jesus Christ, amen

I'm Catholic and I remain Catholic primarily out of my love for our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. However, I can honestly tell you that I have grown extremely weary of listening to Catholic Priests who give extremely poor, superficial homilies, that wouldn't even suffice as pablum. I would rather listen to protestant ministers preach, and yes, I know, they are in error. Perhaps former protestant pastors could TEACH Catholic Priests how to preach!!! Why are Catholic Priests homilies so awful and what can we do to fix this problem?

The eternal word of God is the spiritual seed we are born of with an eternal Father. We hear, believe, and decide with godly sorrow to return to the ways of God. Water Baptism is a decision - a marriage ceremony for adults as it is for a man and a woman who commit to one another. The sacramental way is not biblical. Let God be true and every man be a liar. There was a lot of inventing going around even in the days of Paul and Peter. Mary is not a God. She can't hear your prayers. IDOLATRY.

Mark 9, can you explain why dead Moses appeared to Jesus at the transfiguration? can you explain how the 24 elders before the throne of God add incense (which i take here as intercessory) to our prayers without hearing those prayers in the Rev 5:8 And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people. ( So if you can give the answers to these mysteries, you will know that Mary is not God , but a Holy one of God, like the 24 elders and even more than them because she was in touch with the Christ for 9months in her womb, she cleaned him and suckled him for the first 2years, she kept him for all the time until he died, she is a great saint to pray for us. Alright, if the saints can not hear our prayers yet they are friends of God, how does satan & his demons know about our plans, how do they interfere in our holiness yet they are not friends of God ? My friend once we are in the presence of God in his glory in heaven , we share in the fulness of heaven, and so we recieve all that is heavenly because there in heaven there is no boundaries, Yahweh pewrmits the saints & Angels to hear our prayers , and they present them to Him. Can you also ,answer how angels hear our prayers? Because I read thus , Rev8:3 Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people, on the golden altar in front of the throne. 4 The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God from the angel’s hand. ( how can the Angel present Incense with our prayers without hearing them?).
