I've just always been surprised at how many people/makers do NOT understand these concepts.

It gets confusing as they’re each so similar but hopefully this video helps them!

I appreciate this video...But the question i have is for someone like me who wants to start small is private labeling a good option? Cause I do see you mentioned, private labeling should be more expensive. Many of us want to start somewhere but do not know where to source our products.

I would find a supplier you like whether that’s dream vessels, Makesy, candle science… and find vessels and wicks that work for you. Then buy them in as much bulk as possible. This is the vessel you will pitch to potential private label clients. That way you’re not buying extra vessels or different wax. Use what you have. Then charge accordingly.

Very informative. Love! Thank you for breaking it down. I know usually wholesale fee would be 50%. What percentage would you recommend for white label fee and the amount of candles that you feel would be worth it for an order?

My minimum is 500 candles for private label BUT depending on the company that wants white label - if I have the candles already made and I just need their label then I’ll go pretty low. It’s my candle with a different sticker.

@@HowToLymarie and what percentage would you charge them usually? 50% like wholesale or more like 75%

@@Siyue15 it’s a finished candle so I would charge 75% of retail at least. Unless they want a very large quantity

Hi. So I have a client wanting me to make room sprays for them. They will provide their own bottle, labels etc. i need to make a specific scent for them and fill all the bottles. And deliver to their office. How much would you charge for something like this? Also are there legal permits I need to do this type of selling? Thank you. You are awesome!

ttb.gov is the website to get a permit for using alcohol. Regardless of the amount you use - you need a permit but don’t worry it’s free and easy to obtain. As far as what to charge - always charge 100% of the cost of materials, then add a “per bottle” charge to make, fill and finish. For candles I charge $5 but for sprays maybe charge $3 if it takes less time.
