So true about putting yourself out there! I sell soap, one lady walked by my table and yelled “Not what I’m looking for!” 😂 I work in healthcare so I guess I’m used to rudeness

Ok WOW. I also have adhd and struggle with the “sticking to things” and i want to try everything. It’s my husband’s biggest peeve about me. I had NO IDEA it was because I’m bored after I’ve mastered it. It’s so true though 😮 thanks for that little bit of enlightenment 😳

I do the same! One min I’m going to sell soap, then it’s shampoo; then both; etc. nice to know I’m not alone!

I went back and to my “ work from home” model because the rent and utilities of my building were killing any profit. But yes, busting at the seams in a home is a real thing. The amenity space in my apartment has been fantastic. I’ve been 100% debt free and only buy as I can afford it. That being said, I’m in year 5 and this year I’ll finally be paying myself on a regular. It’s also hard for soap makers because we need it made weeks ahead before we can sell it. ( majority of the time)

I started with candles but had a hard time keeping up the demand due to not having enough funds for product and i dont want to get loans and i still have a fulltime job. I think starting soaps would be a great restart to building my business back up.

The worst month ever… got some small income from my regulars. Hope it would get better this month. Since i went all in with “valentines theme” soaps and candles. Mostly soap. Wish me luck!🍀

So many of my peers are able to work from their spare room and I'm jealous! Having rent costs does make it so much harder to make a profit and also having that initial commitment in signing a rental lease is scary!

Very helpful, thank you! You and I have a lot in common - I rented a space fairly early on due to home restraints, as I have two small children, a husband, and a myriad of animals at home. I also have started struggling with making the same recipe over and over to restock the items in my store, and have thought about hiring an employee to make those soaps so I can keep experimenting with new designs and ingredients. Thank you for this video! :)

Wow the part about the unkind things people say about your products really resonated with me. It's so true and confusing. Do people just say whatever comes into their brain at any given moment?

This is so true with people not respectful towards what we do. I have a lady who came up to my table at a pop-up shop and used her finger to feel inside of all my different scent candles, not reliazing what she was doing. Her fingernails Doug into my candles. It was so disheartening to know that people are so rude with the audacity to do this.

Have the customer pay for everything that she damaged. I feel that one incident can be called a mistake But she dug her fingernails into multiple candles so that’s no longer a mistake that’s intentional damage. She can’t say it was an accident because she could see and feel what she was doing But she did it anyway intentionally And she should pay for the damage she caused. People can’t just call what they did an accident They should pay for it All establishments have people buy stuff that they damage Don’t let people get away with damaging the products you work so hard on.

Hi there! New subscriber here and this is my first video I’ve watched on your channel. I’ve been scouting around and I see that you have both a very nice website as well as you seem to be very active doing in person markets. Can I ask, which do you think is more profitable? I’m just starting out and can’t do both right now so I’m trying to determine which to focus my efforts on in the beginning. I’m leaning in person just because the idea of selling a product someone can touch and smell makes more sense. I’m leaning heavily on my branding and getting my product into local boutiques, I live in a very small town. What are your thoughts? Any you can share are greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hi! Thanks so much for subscribing! This is a great question and for me I would definitely say in-person markets. I live in a bigger city but if you’re willing to travel a little bit, it’s just so much easier to have a bunch of people in front of you product at an event than to try and build some sort of following that it brings enough traffic to your website to build that way. Hope this helps and good luck!

Hi. I’m sooooo new to all of this. Mainly just getting more info. Has the squeeze wax for wax warmers trend already passed? Or fizzled out before it was ever a trend? My adhd brain is horrible about forgetting to blow out candles. But am not finding the strong scents in wax melts. So I was looking at the squeezee idea. What are your thoughts?
