    Love Love Love the MORR channel. Of course one of the key elements is the video editing... how about a "behind the scenes" video on the video editing showing how many hours of video you start with, how you pick the content -- some of the questions that go thru your mind when editing, how you pick music for the videos, some of the cracking up that goes on during the editing (as I'm sure there is), "production input/advice" from Matt & team, etc etc etc. 🙂

    Matt has taught her well the same as her welding. Mostly by showing her then letting her practice, practice,practice. My son learnt to drive on our ride on mower. Then we put a trailer on and he learnt to reverse a trailer. Then I let him drive our car around the yard, we have a 1 acre block so there is plenty of room. Then we put the box trailer on the car and he learnt to reverse it. He has progressed to driving trucks, semi-trailers and now B-Doubles. You don't learn to drive by magic. You need to be taught and given the chance to improve your skills.

Our mowers had to be rescued, we had almost knee deep, (I am 5'2') so that doesn't take much or so I am told. Some places lost their high set houses. You probably saw that in the news. My dog had a ball, as she had not seen flooding and her belly was almost submerged. She is a Johnson American Bulldog. We have had so much rain this year and it is raining again.

    I recently have started off roading my 2022 Colorado Z71. I would love a video or series, on best practices. I have learned a lot just from watching your videos but it would be nice to have the knowledge from your experience in an easy to reference video. For example, in this video you checked they were in low gear, due to transmission concerns, but without really discussing it. Good stuff either way as I know you may not have time!!

    As I observed from the video...the aftermarket 'Freedom Offroad' upper control arm is what broke...don't buy those. 'JBA Offroad' makes awesome control arms for Tacomas and some Jeeps. Check if they offer upper control arms for the Colorado/Canyon.

    I have never seen a broken ball joint wheel remain that upright. OTOH I think most of the ones I have seen were lower ball joints... "I'm just going to lie down and take a nap." Pretty dramatic!

    I get why people go with the ball joint UCA options but have never regretted getting Total Chaos 1" uniball UCAs on my 4Runner. It is a nice peace of mind knowing that they are more or less indestructible. Looks like a pair of those Freedom UCAs cost about $460 vs a pair of TC uniball UCAs which is around $900. I have never heard of the Freedom ones but I imagine they are fine even with the OEM style BJ for regular driving and light offroad use. But if you start to bomb down a horrible road at speed it may not be the best application.

    For anyone who likes their transmission, the order should always be: 1.) SET THE PARKING BRAKE 2.) RELEASE FOOT BRAKE (allowing parking brake to do its thing) 3.) PUT IN PARK

  • @JohnSmith-do3fe

    @JohnSmith-do3fe

    Not safe for a steep slope. If the parking break releases the momentum the vehicle gains from the hill may shear off the pawl and allow the vehicle to roll. Should be: put in park, slowly let off break untill pawl engages, than set parking break.

  • @hectordeanda9133

    @hectordeanda9133

    @@JohnSmith-do3fe that‘s the opposite of what you should do. phuz ⬆️ has the right idea but here’s what I like to do. Put it in Neutral Set parking brake Release foot brake Once vehicle doesn’t roll, you can put it in park and know that the parking brake is holding the weight of the vehicle and NOT the parking pawl. If the vehicle rolls even with the parking brake engaged, you need to adjust it because no matter what you do..the weight will always be on the parking pawl, which is not what you want. Trust me, I park on a sloped driveway everyday

  • @MrBirdnose

    @@hectordeanda9133 That worked in about half the vehicles I've owned; the other half had parking brakes that wouldn't hold no matter how much you adjusted them. I also learned the hard way not to set the parking brake in freezing weather, if the roads are slushy. Everything refroze overnight and the brake shoes got stuck to the drums.

    Rain there will mean people getting bogged no doubt. Pity they were out of the chilli flavour. That maybe even ok with dill pickle. So funny to watch you try set up Tucker, but he took it in his stride & knew something was afoot. LOL! I thought Toquerville Falls Rd must've been fixed up since it seems ages since you've shown footage from up there. Maybe a case of just routine recoveries there & not worth filming. Never get tired of watching the crew shenanigans.
