Who Will Win The Title? Who Makes Top 4? | Overlap Fan Debate Part 3
Спорт
In the third and final part of our Fan Debate, Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher & the fans tackle the title race.
Can Arsenal keep Man City at bay? Gary has his doubts with City for the first time this season.
Then the attention turns to the top four. Can Newcastle make the top 4? Will Manchester United & Spurs be able to claim a Champions League place? And could the likes of Brighton, Fulham & Brentford sneak into Europe?
Finally, we discuss the problems at Liverpool & what is happening at the club, before answering quickfire questions.
00:00-20:11 Can Arsenal see off Man City to win the title?
20:12-25:30 Will Newcastle make the top four? Can they win the Carabao Cup?
25:31-39:22 The impact of Ten Hag & the style of football at Man Utd
39:23-46:47 Should Harry Kane stay at Spurs? Will Tottenham make top 4?
46:48-51:47 Will Brighton, Fulham or Brentford sneak into Europe?
51:48-1:00:09 What is going wrong at Liverpool?
1:00:10-1:02:51 Quickfire questions

Doesn't take a genius to work out once City have a stable defence of their best defenders ie Dias Stones with Walker/Laporte/Ake mix and manage to get KDB/Haaland more free from being man marked (kicked to $hite) by having both Silva and Gundogan able to overload the midfield areas, that City will go to another level and Arsenal will drop off. This is players that have won back to back titles against players that bottled 4th last season. Form can get a team to certain positions, but only genuine class gets you through the real battles.

It's because we've learned over the last few years that whatever an arsenal fan says is always held against us. We've been laughed at over the past years and we almost don't want to be stupid enough to say anything based on that. You say ask a arsenal fan do we think we will win but then in the same sentence you say you then approach us saying City will win, obviously we will react because nobody knows the out come and your saying city will win to get a reaction.

A lot of Arsenal fans are being quite cocky on the likes of Twitter, can't blame them but if you do win it be prepared for hate to come your way. Man United were hated when Fergie was there and they were winning everything, last few years Liverpool got the hate, now it'll be Arsenal who get it. Man City have only done well over the last 5 or 6 years not historically so got away with it a bit. Although I think them and Chelsea are going to get a tough ride from now on.

Hate will probably mostly be on Man City now though although a lot of the press are from there and support them. Not sure how it works in London, Spurs seem to be the whipping boys for a lot of people, they seem to get a hard time off fans too, never really understood it given they don't actually win anything!

@Sky please do this more often? It is quite refreshing to see fan representation from almost all the 20 EPL clubs and more importantly hear their views alongside Jamie and Gary. Good, honest and fair debate!
This is why people can't stand Arsenal fans, they can't stand anybody having an opposing opinion. And even when you praise Arsenal, it's not enough.
Thankyou for having me as always! ❤️
Listening to the Spurs fan after they’ve just been smashed by Leicester should remind everyone that a week in football is a long time. Plenty of twists and turns to come.
Being a Man United supporter, I had forgotten what Gary is now saying. I remember how difficult it was at the top while being chased, and how easily a so called "big" lead can turn into nothing inside of a week. He's right about it being a traditional season. The bar set for fewest points dropped has come from Liverpool and City recently, so we'd be forgiven in thinking a team that could potentially go 8 points clear of second place will not slip up.
Next time can you please spend the entire time talking about how great Arsenal are doing. The two fans you've got there seem to feel very slighted if you miss any chance to praise their team and I wouldn't want them to feel further aggrieved in the next episode.

I think we should give credit where it is due. If Arsenal continue playing like this, and win the league, it will not be because City were bad. Rather that Arsenal, at least so far, have been so good.

The face on Gary when robbie agreed with him but spoke over him
Looks like Gary was spot on regarding man city and arsenal they are starting to crumble a little bit.
What's insane is Brighton are in a transitional season and still in 6th, imagine when De Zerbi gets what he wants in the summer with the possibility of European football, going to be cooking.

No. The entire PL is just overhyped and overrated. The top 4 is pretty open and the top 6 totally is for every team with a few proper top players carrying the rest or any decent bunch of subtop players performing well as a unit. Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, United are teams that rely on the few top players they have to not be a beatable side.

I understand the animosity Tottenham fans have towards Arsenal but it doesn't have to be mentioned in every comment by this Spurs fan. It seems like he left home with Arsenal as the only thing on his mind...
I completely agree with Gary here, we’ve never dominated the away games against the big 4. We’ve generally been a counter attacking team against big teams. I like what we’re doing, 85% of games we need to dominate. Rest of them, we hit ‘em on the break.
looking at this again after the end of season , hats off to gary absolutely nailed the title picture and for the arsenal fans piping up their team and calling out gary neville as a hater - "suck it" 😂 😂

Fair play to arteta . To do what he has done with pretty much the same team is admirable. Let's see what happens end of season but so far arteta gets the plaudits
Note to Gary - Ten Hag talks about dominating the ball in the opponent’s half. That’s what his Ajax team did. It’s not the same as passing the ball slowly between centre backs.
Ex need to be on the next Overlap!!
Big up Joe spoke really well representing our fans
Gary Neville is owed an apology!
Rubbish from Neville that Utd have been in this position before under Jose & Ole.. Yes we finished 2nd but the football never felt like this. Those teams were a bit of a mess. We weren’t controlling games like we are now and didn’t have a player like Casemiro in midfield. Long way to go but it just feels different under Ten Hag.

I have to agree - unfortunately ! I think its similar to what Arteta is doing. Something that is sustainable. Its a shift: culture, style of play/system, mentality, recruitment etc. those fundamentals that build winning/competing teams.

@@gooner_duke2756 I agree. My thoughts on Arteta have always been he had potential as a manager. That FA cup win early in his tenure showed he had something and working under Guardiola is a great apprenticeship, as Ten Hag has proved too. Ole & Arteta always used to get compared I thought it was crazy. Arteta just needed time to build his team. Ole spent gazillions and we ended up worse.
