If they can draft for upside they can draft Buzelis, Risacher or castle. Safe pick is Sheppard Clingan. They need to unload Tate, Landale and Holiday

Matas is the only one Id approve of but he's shoots only 27% on 3s, and our emphasis for this offseason is shooting and floor spacing. So, Matas is not the pick. I think the safe pick is either: 1. Rob Dillingham 2. Tidjane Saluan Reed Shepard; the best shooter in the draft, will obviously play the 2 in the NBA. And he is not a better all-around talent than Cam Whitmore whom is 6'7 and 230 pounds, and almost took J.Green starting spot. Reed is just 6'2. Dillingham would make sense given he's a pure PG than Reed and can serve as a bck up to FVV.

Since the rebuild started we've drafted five guards. To draft another it's admitting incompetence. Will draft Donovan unless we trade down

When you're rebuilding, you draft best available. You don't worry about position. It's not really failure. TyTy was a miss - but he was regarded as a good pick by most experts for that slot. Amen is a hope for guard but with his ability he can play 4 or 5 positions. The book is still out on Jalen but he's not a failure yet. Christopher was a total miss. No idea who the 5th guard is

@@RobertLandHoustonSportsTalk Tyty, Christopher, Jalen, Amen, & Cam. We already drafted five guards. We'll get bigger and draft Donovan. The West has gotten bigger, so competition dictates we do as well. Chet Wemby Joker Lively Rudy Gobert Anthony Davis With Anthony Davis being the shortest person on this list. Our transition defense and perimeter defense much better, but believe you me teens know that we're soft in the middle! ETC......

@@bigpain76 Cam's a wing. Right now he's more 3/4 because his handle isn't good enough as a 2. If he develops the handle, he'll be able to play 2. Again.... you draft the best player & worry about fit another time until you're a legit title contender. IF you have too much talent at 1 position, you make a trade down the line

@@RobertLandHoustonSportsTalk never know. There's a scenario they're tired of settling for what's left at #5 and may want to move up a couple spot. A guy like Risacher if he falls might be a target for them. Basically fit what they need - 3&D profile. For Houston, literally getting additional assets would benefit them more than just using the 3rd pick. Even a couple 2RPs or another future pick with protections, maybe even a stretch big in Stewart. They can use him off the bench or another trade bait down the line..

2nd Unit Amen Cam Tari Jeff back to his original position Adams, Clinging Lindsle, & Tate can be moved at the deadline for a shooter. We're not drafting another guard too much of a log jam we drafted to last year. Adams is on a one-year deal Lindale is a trade piece

  • @greglyon1402

Breaking it down the first team is Amen, Green, Tari, Smith and Sengun. Second team is Backup PG, backup SG, Cam, Tari, and backup center. FVV, Adams, and Green will not be on the team in three years. Tate and Landale are trade bait or walk. Over the next three seasons, the Rockets need to draft the missing pieces. Of course they can also sign backups pretty easily. No one wants to waste the 3rd pick on a backup, but in this draft, that is highly possible. Many teams go with eight in the playoffs so Cam can play the wing, Tari can backup Smith. So really the Rockets need a backup center and backup point guard. Stone will work it out, but trading back is going to be hard to do in this draft.

For people that think the rockets need shooting over interior defense. Let me break it down for you since you don't know basketball. WHAT IS A HIGHER PERCENTAGE SHOT A LAYUP OR A 3-POINTER? LET IT MARINATE.... If you answered a layup you are exactly correct. Donovan Clingan produces stops rebounds, second Chance opportunities &, most importantly a legitimate 7 foot shot blocker/ defensive anchor. A coach like Udoka he can live with getting beat because a team is hot from 3. But he'll go crazy if they're losing because they're getting dominated on the glass or the interior defensive SOFT
