​@@falanajerido875 sons dont typically over throw their fathers. they are pushed out long before they even become a true threat, whether that's 1, 2 or 3 sons. he will push them before they become a issue. As well, young males have a decent instinct to branch out and find new territory along with unrelated females to mate with.

@@falanajerido875 these ones are too young and inexperienced. Even 3 vs one fully grown male they will mostly get injured badly and will run away, with one probably getting killed. Once they reach 3-4 years they can be strong enough to outpower a lonely old lion, and evidence of lions challenging their father exist but it's rare, I only know a couple of those cases.

Interesting to watch the pride dynamics played out here...the female who seemed to have done the kill ended up with almost nothing, while the big male ,who looked well fed , only took the kill to establish his authority , and did not seem hungry at all......

@@splash5150izy typical responses. If it's a tiger at that size, suddenly it's 700-800lbs to people judging just by sight. People need to realize lions, apart from the mane, have very little loose hair in the belly and back legs. Tigers are considerably more fluffy at the belly and flanks. Lions look thinner in the back partially because of the short hair. Lions in captivity have gotten huge. 800+lbs being the biggest ever. All that to say people may be underestimating lion weights because of what appears thin in the back half of the animal.

That lions mane alone demands respect from his pride.

The first lion was like I’m out! Fuck it!

All of these lions look well fed, big and strong. Its clear they have an abundance of prey to feed on. They don't look skeletal and starving like some lions I've seen in other videos. That dad looks almost obese even, and the female who caught it is huge.

Very rare to see a big male with so many young adult male in a pride together. They are either part of a coalition or their father was driven away because the young males would’ve typically been kicked out of the pride by now.

The adult male probably outweighs the next biggest lion on that meal by another one hundred pounds. He's not missing any meals.

As I was watching this I thought it was only a matter of days before daddy lion pushed those big boys out. They were lucky he was as tolerant as he was, for as long as he was. I've seen other sub-adult males get thrown out long before they had that much mane and weight. They should have a good chance if they stick together. How does Shamwari deal with this? Have the boys been able to develop their own pride locally? Or were they shipped off to another area?
