I love this video, thanks Chris! I’m being bombarded with questions about why there’s no “mainstream” content in AMS2, but I think the genius of AMS2 is how it falls outside of the typical sim racing rule set

Whoever asks about "mainstream" content in AMS2 clearly do not know about AMS, AMS 2 or Reiza - so it's time to educate them. P.S.: "What's this Ibarra thing here? Where's Silverstone?"

I really like that they have these different cars and tracks. Sure Spa,Monza and so on is amazing tracks but to be honest I am really tired of racing them. And here comes this game! Never played the first one or PC2 so this is like a whole new game for me.

@@WromWrom Amusingly, Silverstone is coming as DLC (with historic versions).

I actually have solved a Rubik’s cube with mittens on. I solved it in just 50 seconds which is only 18 seconds slower than my average time of 32 seconds.

Good for you mate! I have never solved one, never will and have neither the desire nor the time to do so. I am far too busy to play racing simulations with my mittens on.

I drove a genuine Fiat Uno Fire (the 4 gears model) back in the days when I just got my driving licence ( literally a century ago LoL..) and now I see it in a sim racing game.. how amazing is that!

I'm sincerely hoping that online lobbies will soon be FULL of these contents and some great driving. The new sprint race and Roco cars are also a ton of fun. Maybe a covid community race on AMS2 could be organised?

Well said, Chris. All the major sims have fine GT3 content, so AMS2's car and track roster makes for a refreshing change. AMS1 introduced me to Brazilian motorsport and I'm so glad it did. Plus, GT3 & GT4 are coming to AMS2, but as it's Reiza's hand on the tiller, it'll come with a twist. :)

GT3 and GT4 have their own classes in Endurance Brasil so it would make sense to have them in AMS2, but our recent endurance scene here in Brazil was made of MetalMoro MRXs, MCRs, small hatches and old touring cars, which is why AMS2 content is a bless.

I feel like there are surprisingly big amount of people like racing slow cars. I am really happy because I love series such as Kia Platinum Cup (polish series in which mad lads are (*were, the series is discontinued this season) racing 100hp Kia Picantos, fighting with oversteer and going as close to exceeding track limits as possible on Tracks like Tor Poznań, Hungaroring and Monza among others), Seicento cup (entry-level rallycross league, also from Poland), 23hrs of LeMons (series in which people are trying to make $500 car (without safety features) run for 14hrs at racetrack during endurance race), historic under 1300cc touring car class... But the biggest pain for me is lack of NGTC cars in modern Sims. My all-time favourite racing series is BTCC. No matter which era, BTCC is for me what's racing all about. No matter is it Turkington going last to 6th on a final race of the season, two vintage Austins sliding without grip on bicycle-like tires, super touring monsters going way too fast for their sizes and shapes or Mustang competing with Mini in the same championship, it always makes me feel... YES.

Hey Chris! I'm a newer viewer of yours. Going through your setup video series is really helping me in AMS 2. Its taking a fun and sometimes frustrating experience into some of the best sim experiences ive had!

Nice video Chris... my favourite is the Caterham 620R... the sound from the cockpit in the open top is awesome, and the physics are spot on.

Great video! I tried the Beetles last night and am loving them as well!

The noise out of those Beetles under acceleration is savage.

Would love to see your take on favorite tracks as well.

Good vid Chris, the content now looks quite tempting. I'm just concerned as to how if feels to drive as some of the reviews I've seen so far seem to show some the cars being a bit inert and understeery. I want the cars to move about realistically at the limit and above all be fun. Is it still too early to tell?

I know what you mean. Reiza have some wonderful strengths, which I think show through in AMS2. But it'll never be the sim a lot of people want it to be. And, I consider that to be a positive!

If you take a good look in some of the prototypes, most of the liveries are complete with their sponsorship, although Reiza probably settled this with the Endurance Brasil teams directly, though, if there's a series in the list for full licensing it would be Endurance Brasil, despite some cars being missed.

TransAm! Oh yeah just imagine!

My favourite car in AMS was the 1986 Opala. That and some of the other very different cars are the reason that sim was so great. The tracks are exceptional too, love all the new tracks I learned about, Ibarra and Taruma are a couple of favourites in the right cars. This is why I got AMS2, the unique and different content.

Caterham Superlight is a blast. The 620R also. Slipping and sliding greatness.

That cut was great. Sorta made me think you were announcing something lol

Thanks for your great videos... Pretty new to racing sims, but since driving in VR and with my thrustmaster wheel, pedals etc it's fast becoming my favourite genre to play.. I already have Assetto Corsa, Project Cars 2, RFactor 2 and Dirt Rally 2.. considering now getting AMS2 now it's on sale after release into early access.. do you still recommend getting AMS2 when I already have those other titles and have barely had enough time to fully play them all? What will AMS2 provide that I don't already have with the sims I already have? Thank you

Well, I got into AMS 2 because of the classic F1 cars with classic F1 circuits. Trying to recreate the feeling I had when I played F1 GP in 1992... No Phoenix track, though.

Gave the super v8 a go at imola for first try. I actually like how the sim feels, ffb is strong and im sure more detail will come as the build progresses but first impressions are good imo. Unlike pcar2 after the first initial turn the rear suspension/tires actually work and does its job whereas in pcars2 you just lose it instantly 👍

Yeah. The FFB has made improvements with every build thus far (I think we're on build 7 now), so I'm sure theres still more to come. That being said, it's a much better FFB experience than PC2 already imo.

Really enjoying it, at it most of the day, well, what else can I do these days. I've had a few freeze ups in VR, actually when races were finished, but when all goes well it looks fantastic and runs smoothly on fairly high settings. There's a few things here & there that need a bit of work but its early days

Having driven a couple of hours of AMS2 I am genuinly impressed with the game. I have a love/hate relationship with with PC2 and have never tried AMS1, so expectations were not too high. The very unique selection of cars is really great for me so far, and offers huge variability in driving experience. Coming from ACC which has brilliant FFB, I think AMS2 really has very good FFB already now considering EA, and it has it totally own flavour - in a very good way. Looking forward to improvements in the coming months.

Heh. To be honest, the F1 content is great, but it's the more left-field stuff that's left me most impressed.

I really like this game because brings the brazilian racing categories, this classic cars with chevette, puma gtb, gol, fusca ... and also formula truck and stock car . The first to do so !

I think AMS2 is great. I don't need F1. But I want the Formula Truck to smoke black again. And Porsche and Mini would also be great again. I have great hope for this Sim.

Most of the cars are in AMS 1.

I personally weirdly enjoyed the rental karts, even if theres only one kart track in the game - probably thanks to Jimmy Broadbent and Super GT's club 100 videos, but it was fun to chuck around. The Sprint Race Cars too, like a baby Stock Car, and I reckon will make for some great online racing. Worth nothing also that a positive of AMS2 being based of Madness is that you can have 4 Class Multi Class racing - which you can use for the Prototypes and be serious, or you can have the Uno's, Formula One, Formula Truck, and Beetles around Monaco in the pouring rain - if you fancy a bit of comic relief.

Chris can’t get my simucube 1 to register, any suggestions?

Is there something wrong with the Stock Car Brazil cars? I did several races on Imola and always by lap 2 I would have my brakes overheating (Crew Chief). I have ABS on high, opened the front and rear ducts more, and lowered the maximum brake force to under 85% with no avail. Anyone else having this problem? Shame because they are great fun!

I was about to go ahead with an iRacing subscription, but now this game is giving me second thoughts....

Mate, please can you do a full and I do mean FULL and thorough break down of the A.I please? I only ask as I play offline and this is using the SMS *Artificial Ignorance* engine. I want to buy and support Reiza but I will never touch anything that SMS are involved with unless I know that the A.I. actually use some and they are capable of racing each other as well as the user. Thanks!!

Is there any way to cool the brakes down on the trucks? I know in real life the drivers actually spray water on the brakes.

Anyone got any tips on not locking up the brakes, I'm going to try turning down the brake sensitivity and maybe some braking options in the car setup. Also the stock cars are a nightmare wheelspinning on the exit of corners. Any advice/setup screenshots etc welcome

I love the "weird cars" I can drive a Lambo in almost any car related game, where else can I drive a Volkswagen SEMI truck?

Myself don't follow mainstream racing I'm a track racing vaxuall corsa 4x4 2.0 clet turbo type of bloke passing gt3s on straights and seen in a tree at the end of that straight 🏁💯🏎️👍 All jokes aside this will be a kool sim when all the content is released and its been worked on a lot, main thing is it feels great to drive

Dang all the formula cars were my favourite part of AMS1

I couldn't get triple screen working correctly. Distance to centre screen wouldn't change no matter what I did. Plus I have never been a fan of the Madness Engine, I shouldn't have to use NV Surround as I can't run without it on iRacing, ACC and AC1.

I went into Documents /Automobilista 2/triplscreensetup and set it there when AMS 2 was in beta as the triple screen ingame setup didn't work properly then, maybe try that ;)

Renato Simione, Reiza's boss, said in a brazilian interview that they are not working on anything console atm, but they are absolutely not against it. It's not on their Roadmap for now tho.

As it is on madness engine, we could wait and see, maybe will take a year o so, but it's certainly a possibility.

OK so I've only had the game for one day (duh) but I'm having MASSIVE issues with losing the back end of the car - any car - both on turn in and under power. Anyone else having this issue or am I just trying to drive the cars too fast? The AI certainly don't seem to have an issue driving away from me, even on embarrassingly low settings...

Deliver the acceleration little by little, especially with the prototypes, and don't slam the gas on out lap or lap 1, it's a bad combination with cold tires.

It's not just the prototypes, it's - as I said - any car, including the Copa Cup cars. And it's - as I said - on turn in, as well as under power. The rear just slides out whenever I start turning. I'm thinking it's my steering settings maybe

I -hate- love to say it but *I told you so* The madness engine is a true sim. pCARS was neutered by some odd choices when it came to tyre and chassis definitions. I was really sad to see some cars coming close to perfect during development and then get horribly mangled right at the end with the excuse of "feel" over mathematical accuracy. Congrats Reiza!

What are the physics like compared to games such as assetto corsa

I'm no expert but I would say not as good yet (although I havent tested since last Saturday.) Tyres seem really odd to me over the limit. The Vee is a good example, if you unsettle it into a corner (e.g by pulsing the brake) so the car steps out massively you can bring it back from huge angles (like 90degrees) with throttle input and a slightly less exaggerated version of this seems to be the fastest way around the track. The way lap times drop when you drive very aggressive seems strange to me, in most if not all the cars I've tried. I really liked AMS1 though so I hope they can make a great game of AMS2, it's very early days so time will tell :)

I think the quality of physics changes with the car. the copa classics and the ultimate gtr are really good, I think. I think they will update the physics in next versions. at the moment some things are not so good, but it's early access! don't forget. think about the state of acc in early access. now acc it's a great game.... I think all should trust in Reiza and support them by buying the ea version and save 40% of your money. the final release will coast 49,99 € I think....

2:35 -- oh lawd.. i have only a formula rim right now on a dd... wristbreaking forces + those trucks just dont want to steer = much pain right now, but i really really enjoy ams2 so far!

Pcars 2 was trash, this is not, I bought it, for an early release it's very good, and will only improve in every area over time, at the moment the FFB is not as good as AMS 1, but you can tell its AMS more than PCARS 2

I wish i could agree, its beyond me why they didnt use rFactor 2 engine. PC engine isnt that great, especially AI. i mean PC2 looks amazing with weather and all but to me its all about how it plays.

Sort have gone off AM2 since they said they were using the PC2 engine,PC2 has a mushy feel,you can’t feel the tyres connecting to the track surface,AMS1 was awesome at that. Plus the ott pricing of the dlc before the game is even released.

I'd rather drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.

I really want to support them and am fan of AMS and Stock car but the €90 for the seasonpass really put me off.

I never trust reviews from those who are reading their review from a document or some teleprompter. It is always easy to tell which so-called "reviewers of games" are doing this because they always sound as if they are talking at me rather than to me. Reviews such as this are pre-planned, pre-scripted, and are designed for being entertainment and are not truly reflective of the actual game. Every review out there that I have thus far seen to date is nothing more than regurgitated content from some alleged reviewer that had already posted their content elsewhere. So we end up having this fake sounding hodgepodge/modpodge of puppeted sounding hearsay and logic-failing rhetoric. If I wanted an audiobook I'd go find one. I am not watching a video for a review to hear some monotoned prescripted audiobook sounding presentation, which is nothing short of all I have just said. I have yet to see one game review of any racing game anywhere that is done from the heart. It is all regurgitated intellectualized bullshit wrapped in a "For Entertainment Purposes Only" package, and not anything of truthful value when it comes to real talk.

Hahaha i must be the only one who isn't on board with this game. Outrun 1984 drives better. Pretty much every car is undrivable.

I have PC2 for one year, i have 30 hours in it, i don't want to buy PC2 again
