Williams themselves don't even fully understand why their car is so quick in their low downforce config i think. The Race was talking about how they are still trying to understand why they are fast like that.

What’s important is that Williams is doing better with their F1 car than any of us are.

RB19 speed was over exaggerated by media and fans all season. RB simply matches the top speed of the other cars or atleast very close, while running significantly more downforce on the rear wing and are monsters through corners.

@@ArkaChattopadhyayDRS is only more effective for them, because they are running with higher downforce setting than the others, compensated with (probably) stronger engines. So when the downforce is removed with DRS, then their relative speed gain is higher, than other teams, who has lower downforce to begin with. This comparison is without DRS.

The key in this video is the exiting speed from the last corner before the straight. Ferrari exits at 175 kph vs. 164 kph of the RB. However, at the end of the straight, RB is the fastest car of the pool (along with Alfa Romeo). I don't know how they picked the starting speed, but RB actually IS the fastest car on track. Compared to their cornering performance, this reveals how efficient the project is. Ferrari clearly suffers clipping on the second half of the straight, probably related to a conservative engine mode due to low PU reliability.

​@@juzoliThe Red Bull way faster than the other top teams in the starts of the season, especially in Miami. They were literally gaining almost 30 km/h from drs+slipstream in Jeddah. Max was also 17 km/h faster than Russel in the last backstraight in Miami even though Russel also got drs from the car ahead because the Red Bull could go up to 350 Km/h in Miami whilst the others can mostly reach the low 340s. That is why Red Bull is called as the best in the straights because their advantage was very huge at the start of the season.

Bro if they are running significantly more downforce than other teams and still matching other teams top speeds what does that say to you?? Their top speed wasn't over exaggerated throughout the season at all. The proof is all there in their DRS, Whenever RB opens their it gains +30kmh easily. No other team was doing that really. So I don't know where you get their speed to be over exaggerated, if any thing your comment just proved what media and fans has witnessed all season.

Damn that new RB19 rear suspension really helped AlphaTauri (RacingBulls)! I can't wait for next year, Tsunoda and Ricciardo will be such a formidable lineup, probably the most underrated duo on the grid. I predict P7 in constructors next year.

Look at the starting speeds. Terrible exit out of T5 (-11 km/h against Ferrari). Higher speed at the beginning of the straight≈better traction, middle of the straight≈higher power/deployment, and end of the straight≈lower drag/better DRS

They are often in the mid pack with top speed. The whole RB straight line/drs advantage thing is overblown.

@@KneppaH RB is significantly less draggy... When using the same downforce than the others, but they tend to use bigger wings (like in Abu Dhabi) to still be at the top of the speed traps while having more downforce

Williams had the fastest straight speed? They need to improve more for cornering speed, can't wait to see Where Williams would perform next year

Maybe, probably not. DAS has warmed tires on straights to have more grip / more speed in corners

No, not at all. DAS would allow them to warm the front tires better. So makes no difference for traction or topspeed.

So if you have more top speed you can afford to lower it and run more wing instead making you faster in the corners and faster off the bend.. Total lap time is everything top speed is nothing.
