pirates being rods with no cav multi makes them pretty average. do like the skins for captain feathersword though i like greatscythe, he plays for maximum greed

Corsair is basically a merc rod, pirate is more like a cav unit

Corsair has multipliers versus cav, pirate does not. I believe Pirate is shock infantry, Corsair is heavy infantry. Corsair has higher base stats I believe as well but double the cost

Pirates 🏴‍☠🦜 were reworked into hand shock infantry. So they have the same role as heavy cavalry. They also have unusually high siege attack for hand shock infantry/heavy cavalry. Which is pretty good for Germans, as Uhlans you actually train are pretty terrible. Uhlans are worth training for raiding, but they suck in military engagements. Germans probably need a rework to have their power so weighted early. I would go: Germans instead gain +1/+2/+3/+4/+5 Uhlans each shipment in the Exploration/Commerce/Fortress/Industrial/Imperial Age rather than it being tied to what Age the shipment is in the deck. Uhlans get +20 base hit points and +7 line of sight (putting them equal with a War Wagon). German Age ups cost entirely coin 🪙 (e.g. Commerce Age costs 800 coin 🪙). Age ups for Germans are worth more for more Uhlans. Germantown Farmers changed to a technology at the Mill: costs 200 food 🥩 and 200 coin 🪙, Fortress Age.

@@everythingexpert4795 That is what the coin 🪙 costing Age ups are for. They massively slow down Age ups and make them more expensive. Reducing tempo to manageable levels. Will probably even need to increase Age up rewards or something else to offset the increased cost. Though that is something you can implement in many different ways.

@@UniDocs_Mahapushpa_Cyavana that sounds like balancing hell Also, Germany is already super weak to fast tempo builds that target their houses, I fear doing coin age ups and making their tempo slower actually just dooms Germany overall. Pike/musk rushing them would be a death sentence once u kill 1-2 houses

​@@everythingexpert4795 Just give them an anti-rush tool. For example Kings' Musketeer for Commerce Age: ships 6 Musketeers. Can clear the enemy units and does not fully make up for the tempo loss of coin 🪙 Age ups. Besides, Germans can include anti-rush cards if their late game is less bad. The main problem with shipment based civs like Germans and Spanish is that shipments are much, much stronger in the early game. So you need to increase their shipment bonus and give them something to slow their Age advancement. That way they are more balanced ⚖ for nuanced gameplay.
