Kind of a boring design, tbh. Not even the best MC mom out there. Whitley's mom(or just the B2W2 mother) or Mirei in the manga have her beat just in terms of a fun design, despite Whitley being a dumb name that gets worse when the original name is Whi-two. All of the parents in the Adventures manga suck at naming their kids, aside from maybe Red's or Ruby's.

She's a librarian and an archaeologist, she's got big-time Mom energy, she has a wonderfully curvy figure, her outfit and poofy blue hair are both awesome, and she comes from one of the later Gens where the Gym Leaders all take on active roles in their game's plot. Lance has no redeeming character traits but he isn’t boring. His first appearance he shows up and starts fighting gang members without explaining what’s going on. He’s weirdly inconsiderate in that he forces you to join his chaos but that’s not boring.

I know Pokémon Masters isn't really canon, but some of the seasonal outfits and sygna suits really elevate characters appeal for me. Halloween Morty is leagues above Normal Morty, and Sygna Suit Grimsley, Anniversary Steven, and Anniversary Riahan are some of the best designs in the game in my opinion. And then you have some that do the opposite like Easter Burgh, who looks like a Willy Wonka knockoff.

Honestly Masters is what really sells some of the characters for me, along with the occasional dialogues. But yeah when they said Morty the Halloween outfit is exactly what I was thinking of, and I have that one. They would’ve went into a coma if they saw Cynthia’s Girantina outfit, and I have seen some LOVELY art and fics that “appreciate” Leon (Eternatus outfit, they gave the himbo SIDE TORSO AND SHOULDER CUTOUTS) and Raihan’s (Flygon, white tailcoat with a black undershirt, orange tinted sunglasses, and some jewelry with the smug smile…) synga suits…

3:46 Lance is a ten-year-old's idea of what a cool adult would look like. He's like a manchild who painstakingly climbed up to the Champion spot so now nobody can tell him that he can't style his hair like a supersaiyan and wear a cape to work every day. So yeah, if you think of him as a huge dork who's still excited to bust out his middle-school LARP costume, it's weirdly endearing.

In the anime he says he's part of the "Pokemon G-Men" detective agency, but we never see any other G-Men and the police never confirm that he has any kind of jurisdiction to perform investigations or make arrests. For all we know, he just gets bored waiting for challengers on the Indigo Plateau, so he periodically ditches work in a disguise so he can pick fights with criminals.

I really feel like Ryukyi was a scrapped early design for Raihan. Both have a showboat-y nuture, and it's possible his rock aesthetic could've been rolled into Piers once they (hypothetically) decided to take the character in a different direction.

Honestly, Ryukyi should've been a trial captain, considering 2 things. 1. He uses dragon pokemon. 2. There is a dragon trial on Poni Island with no captain.

Karen is a brilliant character design. One look at her tells you exactly what kind of person she is: Beautiful, intelligent, subtle, ruthless, and above all, supremely confident. She's a natural fit for Dark-type Pokémon, and easily one of the prettiest characters in the series.

I love they all agreed 100% Cynthia was an instant 'Yup'

As an older Pokémon fan I have to say I like Karen more due to her physical appearance and ‘mysterious’ persona that she has. I never liked Cynthia only because her Garchomp and spiritomb always gave me a damn headache and made me rage lol Edit: yes if Karen from Pokémon was real I would’ve gone in her raw and made her my wife. Sadly she isn’t real.

@@hazeltree7738 they don’t truly represent anyone, as they are fictional, if they are based off real people then fair enough but fiction is fiction, words on a page, lines on paper if you see yourself in them good for you but that truth doesn’t change. And that fact is what allows us to explore things we normally wouldn’t, our worst fears, are best moments, and all the questions that are impossible to answer. It’s the act of forgetting that which concerns me. But then again that’s just opinion, and I care less about that then I do about people fantasising about fictional characters.

I'd love to see you do this again with Legends: Arceus and Scarlet/Violet

basically Trial Captains are young trainers who already completed their Island Challenge and according to Mallow in Moon, you quit that position at the age of 20. Ilima is canon a graduate of Alola's Trainer School and has been studying in Kalos, so i think he is 18/19 Mina made an appearance in the Let's Go games so i believe that like Ilima she is in her 18/19 or lower 16 Now Kiawe and Mallow seems to be the two who are the closest of retirement as you battle them (Kiawe in S/US and Mallow in M/UM) both are talking about their future so i would put them in the 19/20 range

I have never put into words how I feel about Klara, but hearing "I want her to divorce me" is the perfect description

Guzma’s personally is amazing, if you have played the games you would know that he’s genuinely a kind person when it comes to people he’s close with. When lusamine almost died who was there to carry her back without a decent thought, Guzma. He is a great dude and definitely a thumbs up.

Peony is best dad, I won't take any other answer. Yes he's overbearing but he's actively going out of his way to be there for his daughter, and wants to do the things she likes, and he's incredibly supportive of her even when she's not being that great back. When turned down by his daughter he gladly sweeps protag along on a fun adventure because he's there to have fun and let young people have their fun exploring the Crown Tundra as well. He takes the entire story therein really well too. I genuinely don't think we have next to any better references for S tier Pokemon dads.

14:20 Clay is actually wearing chaps those aren't just a wierd second pair of pants. Chaps were used in the 1800s while riding horses to protect your legs that's why there's the wierd crotch hole. Alot of cowboy's wore em so that's why he does, I think it's fits his cowboy esthetic but I do agree It looks kinda silly.
