Who is the Fredbear Plush | FNAF 101

Ойындар

The Fredbear Plush was a character introduced in FNAF 4. Today I hope to give you the tools you need to solve who you think he is. We can, since as the Plush says, the pieces are in place for you. All you need to do is find them.

    I really do enjoy these newer Fnaf lore videos where they’re not trying to solve the whole game but rather one part that’s we’ve been trying to solve for years. I think these kind of videos are more helpful to figuring out the hell hole that is the state of fnaf lore.

    Fredbears lines of "Remember what you saw" and "He hates you, you have to get up" aren't an attempt to hurt or scare him they're just saying "You aren't safe, you need to escape and protect yourself." The line "You can find help if you can get past them. You have to be strong." further shows this.

    It's nice to see someone talk about the Fredbear plush, I haven't seen any serious discussions about it in a long time despite being one of the more cryptic parts of the series' lore. Considering how much evidence there is for Charlie, I do wonder if GoldenVictim was the intended conclusion back during FNaF4.

  • @GhostFNAF

    Imo no, I use to be Golden Victim but I find it quite bad nowadays. Sadly at that, story-wise I really enjoy it as a theory.

  • @m0002856

    @m0002856

    Well, I think the biggest reason that it's such a huge mystery is because the intended conclusion back during FNaF 4 was likely that none of the stories or events that we had thought we knew from FNaF 1-3 were actually happening. I do think that the correct conclusion to FNaF 4 was that these things were all misunderstandings from the mind of the Crying Child, that no murders took place, and that this Fredbear plushy was likely just an imaginary friend that he had from before he was traumatized from seeing something in the shadows. Obviously the story has been changed to go in a different direction, but I think this is the main reason why there are things that simply don't make sense from these games. The Fredbear plushy doesn't make sense, and we can't figure out who or what it is because it wasn't ever meant to be a who or a what back when it was being created- it was just meant to be another figment of the Crying Child's imagination. Scott figured that the "it was all a misunderstanding to the Crying Child who invented the stories and gameplay of FNaF 1-3 in his mind" wouldn't be a satisfying conclusion to us as an audience, and so he went with the idea that there were actual murders taking place. So... the Fredbear plush is likely going to be unexplained forever since it was created at a time when the story was so dramatically different than it is today that there is no logical way to fix it.

    The plush is a real object, which gets placed in the private room by Afton after his son is dead. I believe he was monitoring the crying child, which is why there's some sort of walkie-talkie / remote control held by the plush. But notice; it is HELD or PLACED on the plush; not inside of it. The plush was there when the child flatlined at the hospital, Afton took it back with him and placed it by the monitors. He left then no longer needed the talk-walkie/remote control and so placed it on the plush. It's symbolic; the two objects are to show neither are in use at the time of Sister location; the crying child is dead, so the plushie has nowhere to be. Afton no longer has a child to monitor with that device; so it's set down and no longer in use. The two objects are stacked on top of each other and next to the monitors to indicate they are real and that the locations on the screens are real places; what we saw in FNAF4 happened. What we saw not in 8-bit happened; what we saw in 8-bit is the memory of a dead child; what a child's mind might mis-remember or misunderstand.

    @@AdaTheWatcher This is a very important point. I think GhostFNAF's video is very solid in what it lays out and explore more precise possible answers then what I said. I don't know who the crying child hears speaking to him; that does confuse me. But I think the device and the bear being next to each other but not one in the same object is a very literal message; the two objects are related, but neither is in use during Sister location. They are both out-of-commission and the video feed shows the rooms but they are empty, still; no activity to be seen.

    Ooh something I can pretty much fully agree with! I sometimes count the books as canon (kinda selectively, I said in a comment elsewhere that the timeline I mainly use is an AU because the lore gets tangled around itself a few too many times in multiple places to the point of me trying to just have a constant of my own form what I have), and part of that is if a character has little character/backstory in the games but they're also in the novels, I mix a little of the novels in as well to add on to the character. So from the novels we know William has at least slapped Elizabeth a few times, and likely does the same with his other children (including Crying Child) so none of the Afton kids have/had a good home life. But Henry is also a bit neglectful emotionally in the novels, which I mix with the whole "the Puppet is kept inside Lefty with electrical currents" (and the fact Henry created Lefty) to put together that Crying Child and Charlie are actually rather similar. So they would definitely bond over at least that

    I have to say, as somone who always viewed Shadow Freddy being Nightmare as a huge deal, it still sucks to be reminded that almost no one believes any of the fnaf 4 theories about Shadow Freddy being really important, , or at the very least they aren't talked about, be they Shadow-Victim, Shadow-Plush, or whatever else. I'm glad you brought it up, especially in such detail. I remember I was big into Shadow-Victim back in the day, with the older brother as the one playing fnaf 4 as a dream being supernaturally orchestrated by the bite victim. This whole video really brings me back so far. I'm only halfway through though. I remember I predicted Agony was a thing back then as well. I figured there had to be a system to how ghosts work in the lore, and determined that the puppet was strong enough to be possesed without any sort of assistance (obviously no one gave gifts of life to the puppet), that he fact the kid was crying so much when they died made its spirit strong enough to do that on its own, and that the reason springlock failures resulted in RXQ and later Springtrap was his painful they were (I believed RXQ was a springlocked employee from the multiple springlock figures, and that said failure was what the bite victim saw, but that Shadow Freddy wasn't). So considering how sad and scared the bite victim was all the time, and since I thought that the fredbear plush was the puppet, that mean't that the bite victim would be a very powerful spirit, on top of possibly being given even more power by the puppet trying to put him back together. The box was a gift, and the box contained Shadow Freddy symbolically. Of course, nowadays I believe in Golden-Both with the bite victim and Cassidy, but still, not enough people talk about Nightmare being Shadow Freddy. At least not enough mainstream theorists. Only the types of people like you who use theory terminology like "Golden-Both", or "Mike-Victim" or whatever seem to talk about it, excluding of course the few stray instances of these terms that are mainstream outside of Freddit (Mike-Trap, Will-Trap, Greg-Bot, Molten-MCI, etc.) Sorry for the rant thats barely related to that part of the video. It just takes me back. This video kind of reminds me of those old 8-bit-gaming theory videos. I used to love rewattching the outdated ones to see what they got wrong and what they got right and also for nostalgias sake.

    One thing I would like to add to this is that in the don’t wake the baby teaser where Nightmarionne first appeared when you lit up the image the Freddy plush would turn golden and Nightmarionne would emerge from behind him. Then, in another teaser that only contained the Freddy plush staring at you when you lit it up the plush would again turn golden and this time strings would become visible above the plushie, holding onto it. Also, I don’t really see why the counterarguments to CharliePlush are valid since we know for a fact that William used the plushie to monitor and talk to Evan/cc. It might just be that both Charlie and William used the Fredbear plush to talk to cc. Awesome and super informative video man, you’ve earned yourself a sub👍!

    Ok, thoughts: - I appreciate this video a lot for representing what I think of as the "real" FNaF lore community... When I compare what people talk about on forums with theorists on KZread, it's always really weird how big of a disconnect there is in what people are talking about. FreeVictim is practically well-known consensus in the space I'm familiar with, but when I searched for it on KZread at the time, I could only find one video, and it was in Spanish. (Doing it again now yielded an actual explanation video! ...immediately followed by a lewd Springtrap shipping animation??? lol) It's sort of a breath of fresh air to see someone here making well-edited videos who actually seems in touch with what's been talked about in deeplore spaces (Of course, it also means my frustrations with those spaces are carrying over too, but I'll take what I can get). - I think "No random easter eggs" is a common misinterpretation of what Scott actually said. What he actually said was "I guess most people assumed that I filled the game with random easter eggs this time. I didn't." He doesn't imply at all that there are no random easter eggs whatsoever. In the larger context of his statement, I'm pretty confident his intention was just to sneakily tell us that the "pieces" were FNaF4 easter eggs, to try and point us toward FreeVictim. IMO pretty much everything about that Steam post has been completely misinterpreted by the community. - I wrote a few paragraphs of more in-depth criticisms to your points, but as I'm sure you know, FNaF is a massive gyrating web of connected information, and the only way I can really talk about anything without being super dismissive is by going on a huge tangent every few words, which I don't really have the energy for right now... So just know that this internet stranger thinks you're totally wrong about a bunch of stuff :P The tl;dr is that I think your Will/Charlieplush points are super weak because of a handful of differences in interpretation, opinion, and mindset, which are extremely subtle, but still completely change the end result, because... you know how it is. And yet, your rundown at the end was still somehow ~90% in line with my thoughts? ShatterVictim ftw I guess. Looking forward to future videos!!

    My immediate assumption is that the plush we see talking for most of the mini games is just Evan/CC/whatever having an imaginary friend. He's a little kid, it makes sense that he would imagine his stuffed animal is talking to him and keeping him safe. The end bit could be either a hallucination as the kid is dying or someone outside of his coma talking to him and him mistaking it for his plush toy because that’s the figure he thinks of as his protection.

    Personally, I think Cassidy and Charlotte work together as a team to bring William to "justice." So I propose Plush Duo with both girls as the fredbear plush. I justify this as both of them have motivation to go against William, and in Princess Quest 2 and 3, the golden princess needs a shadowy purple princess, her opposite, to complete the games. Merciful Charlotte, connected to the black and purple Puppet, balances out Vengeful Cassidy as bright Golden Freddy. My thought is Cassidy, more intense of the two, is aggravating the crying child, trying to communicate that William is not safe or try to have a physical agent for her to work with. But Crying Child is more terrorized instead of emboldened. But when the child is killed, Charlotte takes over to bring some variant of peace to him, welcoming the child into the fold.

    Thinking about security breach, your theory makes total sense to me. The staff bot room (The one with all of the notes) seems to me like it's crying child and charlotte communicating amongst each other trying to figure out their memories. Not only are there staff bots that have the puppet markings but it makes sense why the notes seem to be drawn by small children moving up in knowledge. Some seem to be Charlie's memories and others seem to be crying child's. I also believe that they put together the Afton table to remind crying child of who consists in his family! The room does kind of depend on Gregory's relation to the crying child, but I personally believe that!! Great video!! I love the way that you pick things apart in such great detail unlike some of the more popular theorists who use surface level details and leave out the counter arguments. The fact that you can admit that you're not 100% because of certain details makes this video so much better.

    The problem is that the only person/people in the post it room are confirmed to be female, and one of them is a female sister of BV, old bro and Elizabeth so not Charlotte, and also in one if the 7 kids that died, aka Charlotte, Andrew, Cassidy, Susie, Jeremy, Gabriel and Fritz, since they're female it can only be Susie, Cassidy and Charlotte, but we see in another post it note they where a crying kid from give gifts give life, so Susie or Cassidy, and one about the happiest day, and the happiest day is for Cassidy, implying she's the only/other kid in the post it note room, since she was also confirmed to be an afton, the other one could also possibly be Charlotte but none of the staff bots have anything to do with the puppet, they have nightmarione markings but nightmarione is confirmed to be Eleanor, since she's now canon to the games, and also shadow Freddy who is nightmarione is also Eleanor, and Eleanor is made of Andrews agony and not Charlotte

    I think the biggest problem with decoding anything in Fnaf 4 is that the story of the game has been changed and retconned to the highest degree with the release of newer fnaf games like SL, Pizza Sim, VR and SB. These newer games had lore points that retconned the original implications of fnaf 4's story points from what they originally were when fnaf 4 first released. And because of that, a lot of the lore is extremely up to interpretation.

    I only associate purple with Afton when he's actively killing someone, so him being orange when he's just "some shlub with a crumbling family" never phased me much. He took off his murder uniform (metaphorically or literally) and now he's orange. Cool. It's hard... to say what's going on wish the plush, because yeah it *could* be trying to frighten him, but as someone with a brother like that... that's just point for point my internal monologue when I knew my brother was stalking me. Even things like "you've gotta move, you gotta be brave" but failing to do either, like, that's super relateable to me. My brother used to "hide" outside the bathroom to "scare" me, and it's not like I didn't know he was there, but I needed to trigger the jump scare to get out, so the tv scene also hit me close to home. I've been there, I've done that, yano? Is it just paranoia when they really are out to get you? (Also, as someone who was bullied like that, you don't start out crying under tables but once they drive you to it, oh god does that immediately become your entire personality trait to them, so I'm not sure it proves anything either.) I really like the notion of agony!plush. It explains a lot of why psychic friend Fredbear is both his best friend and worst enemy. I was mine too; one could even make a case that abuse can cause the exact sort of dissociation/depersonalization necessary to create an agony clone like that, it's just DID literalized right? It explains why plushie both knows too much but is also the running monologue of an abused kid both in being helpful and for self-punishment. It helps explain the connection between Charlie and the crying child, particularly if their deaths overlapped which seems likely? We know he took a while to die, may have only died because life support was turned off even, so even if the party happens before Charlotte's death there's still a solid week-ish where she could be murdered after and her to still be there in time for the final lines. The sheer fact that it's so hard to figure out which came first, the bite or the murder, implies they must have happened pretty close together, I think; as you brought up, they mirror each other to a weird degree to be entirely unconnected. Some fun could be had debating if plushie had anything to do with the puppet fusing with Charlie then. What was he doing while the crying child was in the hospital waiting to die? How connected are the two lost Fazbear heirs? I feel like I'm the only person that remembers there was another springlock failure, and assumed that was what the crying child saw that scared him so much. It'd be easy to misunderstand what was happening, like the animatronic was maliciously eating the employee, explain the stuffing rumour (dying stuffed inside the suit getting changed to getting stuffed in the suit after you die is a natural telephone-game kind of error drift) and explain why he panics when he sees someone getting put in the Fredbear suit by his dad. It'd certainly be enough to make him terrified of all the animatronics in any situation, and weirdly make his death ironic? Dying from an animatronic failure but not the one he was paranoid of.

    In FNAF 6 there is a note of a boy who was bitten by an animatronic and whose frontal lobe remained connected to his head, but "doctors aren't sure how long it will stay that way". This implies that although the Bite happened on the same date as Charlie's death (October 31th, which is also implied by the Halloween Edition and the Curse of Dredbear), the Bitevictim died only on the next day.

    The problem with Charlotte plush is, first off, the fact that on the novels Charlie's death is different than her death in the games in almost every way. Her death in the novels made Fredbear's close, unlike in the games, because that was BV's death. Plus, in the fnaf 2 Charlie minigame, it's at fazbear's, not fredbear's, and it wasn't retconed because in fnaf 6 they showed the minigame on screen at the end. Also, those Security breach posters can't be hinting that fnaf 6's location was fredbear's because phone guy himself said in fnaf 2 that the fnaf 2 location was fredbear's, and the fnaf 2 and 6 locations look nothing alike. And what a coincidence that Charlie died the same year BV died, maybe because William wanted to make Henry miserable by murdering his kid after he lost his. Further more, in the fnaf 6 minigame, William complains that the kid in the room locked the door, plus, the kid escaped off the window, an interesting coincidence, since the fnaf 4 room, (Mike's room) has no windows, and the doors can't be locked. William most likely put Mike in that room, and time after set up the cameras to watch him, (because when you put a year as a password, it's a past year. not a present or future year. Hence, William set the fnaf SL cameras after 1983, meaning he was monitoring Mike, not BV). And because of Mike's grief, and guilt, the fnaf 4 nights happen. what does this have to do? the fact that it would mean the fnaf 6 minigame happened AFTER BV's death, this, and all of what I said before would mean Charlotte died AFTER BV. Which would eliminate her from being a candidate to haunt the plush, living no other posible candidate. That's why figuring out fredplush is it's own can of worms. Unless you talk about Andrew, but let's remember that there's literally NO evidence that he exists in the games. And if he did, how could he get to possess a random plushie anyway? Other comments on the video: 1. Why would BV not cry under the tables in the fnaf 6 minigame? and even if he didn't, Mike's sudden change from "don't be to hard on him" to "He's a baby" it's illogical and unexplainable. He's caring until his brother gets scared? why? 2. Henry does say Charlie was Afton's first victim, it's true. BV wasn't an Afton victim though. 3. Novels William ain't necessarily games William. 4. Puppet can't fly, she walks. we see that in Help wanted. (it's actually an old head-canon, people also thought she could teleport lol). 5. "Shadow's" can just be talking about fnaf 4's gameplay obscurity, remember that when Scott was saying all of those things, Dream theory was still on. He also pointed out toy chica missing her beak in the easter egg, pushing theorists to the theory. At this point, BV was still the character we play as in the fnaf 4 gameplay. This also debunks the idea that there aren't multiple retcons between fnaf 1 and SL. 6. There's no evidence suggesting that Shadow freddy is anything more than just a representation of Afton luring kids, as we see in the fnaf 3 "follow me" minigames. We don't even know if he's real. And he is just as similar to fredbear as freddy is. 7. Nightmare is the official name of the character now. As we see in UCN (another retcon) 8. BV's fear to fredbear must be because of the fact that he misunderstood how springlock animatronics work, and he thinks robots are eating people. that's why he doesn't have a springbonnie plushie, he also is afraid of him for also being a springlock animatronic. 9. Despite "William finding out Charlie possessed the puppet" is an interesting explanation for his search for remnant, how exactly could someone get to that supernatural conclusion just by thinking the robot is acting kinda weird? Isn't Afton a man of science? 10. In my opinion, your shatter victim interpretation is kind of a stretch. Over all, I understand how solving fredplush is incredibly complicated and is probably a problem that will never be answered or solved. Hope this didn't appear very offensive because you explained it all very well, but it still has holes and this is just my criticism of the video revealing them.

    AgonyPlush and CharlotteFinalSpeaker could work together under Plush Duo. Here is my interpretation of who the Fredbear Plush is: Fredbear Plush is haunted by C.C.'s agony in minigames 1-4. It is his guide because he knows what the kid is afraid of, though he is unable to do anything but watch, speak, and appear in random places while following him. He's just a plushie. I wouldn't call Fredbear "uncaring" or "abusive" because to me, he's reminding him about what he saw and what he's going through as a way to convince him to get up and keep going. It's less of, "You _will_ die if you keep doing nothing. Stop crying and get out." Because he says it more vaguely than clear and frightening, but in a way that the child can comprehend and understand. It is very heavily implied that C.C. is afraid of the springlock suits, which is elaborated here: At 6:47 - kzread.info/dash/bejne/oneJss6en8anfbA.html He's just trying his best to help the kid and console him with his famous quote, "Tomorrow is another day," because that's all he can do. I also think that C.C may or not have a sort of resentment towards his brother, Michael. Thus, the reason Fredbear says to him, "He _hates_ you." Midnight Motorist is already confusing as heck, and I don’t know what to make of it, but I disagree that it takes place after Charlotte's death (before FNAF 4) or B.V seeing it thanks to Shadow Freddy. And B.V. being experimented on by William with real nightmare animatronics while MikeDreamer being obviously implied in the Logbook felt way too...scif-fi on Scott's part, if it _was_ his decision. To me personally, it just doesn't work narratively and makes the story even more confusing and brings up even more questions than answers, considering all of the points you've brought up. But as you said, it is your opinion. So, I'll let it slide. (What I mean is making the FNAF 4 bedroom real, which implies the Nightmares are _also_ real, felt like a very unnecessary recton /gen /srs) I'd place Charlie's death after B.V. is hospitalized since it gives William a reason to murder her. It is implied in the novels that William has a sort of jealousy against Henry, so seeing him and his daughter "happily scot free" while his youngest son is on life support would probably set him off immediately. It's kind of like, "If I have to suffer, then I'll make sure he suffers my pain as well." Plus, in the game universe, she likely dies outside of a Freddy's restaurant instead of Fredbear’s due to the sprite of Cakebear having a similar color palette to Freddy's sprite in GGGL, which implies that that they're the same animatronic. She still dies first since her death seems to indicate strangulation (the lack of weapons nearby or blood oozing from her body), and that unconsciousness may occur within seconds and death within minutes /ref It still gives her time to speak to B.V. _as_ Fredbear on his deathbed, promising to put him back together, though I do believe they both die on the same day (The Bite of '83 occurs during the day while Security Puppet's minigame happens at midnight) and at the hospital. Regardless, I like your take on the topic of the identity of the Fredbear Plush, including the many theories surrounding it. It's refreshing, in a way, that you present the pros and cons of each theory. I'm obviously on board with FreeVictim since it's possibly the most logical theory with solid evidence that makes up the confusing lore of the franchise as a whole. Can't wait to see more from you! Keep up the great work 👍✨️

    One thing I noticed about the Fredbear Plush appearing throughout the neighborhood is that he has black eyes. He only has black eyes when outside of C.C.'s house (and in the cutscenes at the very beginning introducing him). *EXCEPT* when he is near the girl with the toys of the Toy Animatronics. There he has his white eyes and they also follow C.C.'s movements. Anyone think this might mean anything?

    I like the idea of shadow freddy being the plush, making crying child relive his final moments to feed off of his agony. However I still believe that William Afton was the one to say "I will put you back together" using what he knows about remnant to try and bring him back. To learn more about remnant would fuel the murders up until he dies in the springlock suit, and loses a part of himself. Even if this is unlikely, I still prefer this theory as it gives William more reason to be invested in remnant other than "I'm a psycho who wants to live forever"

    Wow I really like that video, I alway's tough that same thing about fnaf 4, also, in my opinion, maybe there's 2 types of fredbear plush here, the ones with light pulpils that were in the house may be just Afton using the camera and the walkie-talkie and the ones outside the house may be shadow freddy himself I even like to call the black eyes plushies "shadowplush", and also, even the logbook had an reference to the fredbear plush being "c.c's imaginary friend"

    I agree with your William plush theory. The private room and Midnight Motorist minigame both confirm it.

    Cool video, also if you found out that the 16 buttons on the walkie talkie match up with the 16 minigame rooms from an old reddit post 6 years ago, that post was made by me lol. I deleted my account but I remember telling the head mod on freddit about it. You might’ve just happened to notice it too tho. I no longer believe in Willplush tho, it was plausible at the time because everyone thought scott was recklessly retconning the lore when sister location came out, before he made a post clarifying that he wasn’t. But everyone knew the problems with it then too.

    I'm hearing your theory and what you bring up often is the point of; "How could Fredbear Plush, William, be trying to protect the crying child if they're also attempting to scare them?" Firstly, thank you for your contribution to the FNAF lore community Second, have you considered that William is attempting to protect the crying child by scaring him throughout the game? It's pretty common that parents will use a sense of fear to warn children of outside dangers. If parents feel that a specific person is harmful towards their child, they'll say anything to make sure their kid stays away from that person!

    I believe that Charlotte Emily is the Fredbear plush, but there is one part about that theory that doesn’t really make sense to me: what exactly _was_ William Afton’s motivation to kill Charlie if neither of his children had died yet?

  • @GhostFNAF

    @GhostFNAF

    Жыл бұрын

    William kills Charlotte First in the books because he was jealous of Henry. So that's most likely the reason he also did it in the games

  • @Cxsonn

    @Cxsonn

    @@GhostFNAF I no longer believe that Charlotte Emily haunts the Fredbear plush, because it doesn’t make sense according to my beliefs about the Midnight Motorist mini-game (I believe that the person sitting on the couch in the mini-game is Mrs. Afton, and the person who ran away is Michael Afton). If Midnight Motorist takes place after the death of Charlotte, and the Bite of ‘83 has already occurred, than how can Charlie haunt the Fredbear plush when she’s not even dead yet? My conclusion is that the plush is likely a mixture of a monitoring camera used by William, a hallucination, and an imaginary friend of the Crying Child. I also believe that Michael is the one to who says “I’m sorry,” in the last night-end mini-game in _Five Nights at Freddy’s 4._ In addition to that, I also believe that William Afton is the one who says, “You are broken,” and “I will put you back together,” because he is promising his son, the Crying Child, that he will try his best to find a way to “put him back together [in other words, bring him back to life].” This line is often associated with William throughout the series, especially in _Ultimate Custom Night._ These are just my thoughts, though.

    The little girl's room was probably one of the things that were retconned, since there's no way Elizabeth Afton died before anyone else, because William Afton would not yet have a motive to create the Funtime animatronics, therefore making it impossible for Elizabeth to have died first.

  • @GhostFNAF

    @GhostFNAF

    She doesn't need to die for the room to be empty. It seems the Afton got divorced and Elizabeth is the youngest Afton (she is 5 in the novels). So she is prob just with her Mother

    I don't personally believe William Plush, but I think it's worth noting that the line "I am still here" could connect to one of the first FNAF 3 teasers, where that same sentence is associated with Springtrap. EDIT: I just double checked and the Fredbear plush uses "I'm" instead of "I am", so it's probably not an intentional connection.
