Who Is: Jarrett Stidham

Спорт

How are you suppose to replace a legend? That is what everyone is asking when it comes to New England Patriots Quarterback Jarrett Stidham after the departure of Tom Brady. Will he be able to become a legend himself or will he become the forgotten QB in New England?
In the "Who is" series, I go through the backstories of up and coming collegiate and NFL players. I release football-related content every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Consider subscribing to the channel I have a lot of cool things planned in the upcoming weeks on the road to 1,000 subs.

I saw him at the Lions training camp last summer when the Patriots came in for a dual practice He stood out and took in extra throwing reps with a few rookie WR. Patriots find a way to get the most out of sleeper picks.

I like that you have big plans. Your'e doing a great job. Consider putting the conference previews on a different channel and make this one a sports docu channel since that's why I'm clicking again. I guarantee you 1000% that I'm not the only one. Focus on what is making your channel successful, if you enjoy doing these! You can also advertise your other channel on this one and vice versa. Allows two different communities to grow, overlapping those who care about both college football and in depth sports bios and more singularly focused for those who are here for a certain thing. Either way I'll sift through the shit I don't want to watch in order to learn more about the most interesting players in the league if you do centralize it all on this channel. Good work my man!

Thank you for this feedback. I am really going to think about this. I was originally going to start the conference previews next week but I think I may push that back and continue to think about the second channel idea and for now focus on The Who is series. Who do you want to see in future video? I’m thinking for now doing one college player and one NFL player a week and then maybe either doing draft content for 2021 or even a kind of who is: college recruiting class where I talk about the players in the 2020 and 2021 recruiting class. Again let me know what you want to see I love the support.

@@EmbracetheGrind Take your time! I understand the want to capitalize on momentum, but quality over quantity every time. Also, graduate. Clipping vids together and writing the script takes time so make sure to prioritize. That's the dad in me talking, there. As for content I would like to see? I am only interested in college when they are transitioning into the NFL. With that said, I watched the video for that Lance boy and was very intrigued. So for me personally, the right guy with the right amount of interesting story could work for college guys. But I am really here for the hot topic guys of the NFL. If there's some sort of controversy (or has been in the past) then covering that guy could lead to more clicks, and covering a story that has misconceptions or something? well that's journalism, there my friend. I know you want this to be football centric, but there are a TON of interesting sports people out there and I think that limiting it to only the NFL could get stale after a long while of doing that. So throwing in like the Williams sisters in tennis or Dale Ernhardt or something could be a way to break that formula up, but still keep your content fluid and along the same lines of "who is"

Hammerin' Hank Belichek learned from his mistakes in Cleveland, however he also lucked out with Brady. It was a match that worked out for both of them. This is one of the reasons I don’t take a side in the “Was it Belichek or Brady?”argument. I think Brady made BB a better coach and BB made Brady a better player. However Brady didn’t play defense, draft rookies, sign free agents or make trades ect. So even if he doesn’t win another he still is one of the greatest coaches of all time. All we can do is see what happens with Stidham, it’s not like they gave up a lot to get him, if he doesn’t work out they move on.

Hated quarter backs like him when I played corner back. You never know if they are going to run or pass when you put pressure on them. But as a Patriot fan I love what I see. He's mobile and does not get stuck in the pocket which is great when you're on 3rd down situation and need to get a few yards by passing or running. This guy is not going to get sacked often... He might not be the goat but he's going to be fun to watch and who knows he might get us a few more SB rings.

@@britneyystaples91 A proven winner??? Really??/ You do realize in college ball and even HS ball competition has a lot to do with "how good" a kid is...Clemson played 2 teams all yr with a winning record...so they are fresh and ready to go for the play-offs...Stidham faced the most difficult schedule in the country his last yr facing at the time of game 7 ranked teams, 4 of those games were vs top 10 teams with 2 being vs the #1 ranked team in the country in back to back weeks...He won both...If Stidham played a T Lawrence schedule I have no doubt his stats would be as gaudy...if you think Clemson or T Lawrence would go undefeated 2-3 yrs in a row facing AU schedule ur not being objective....in fact it is laughable...TL may be a HOF and I like the kid but let's not get carried away thinking he is exponentially better than every QB playing today...again, place T Lawrence at AU or Bama or LSU and have him duplicate then I would be impressed but not when ur toughest game is Syracuse and u lose or NC State and have to score in last seconds to win while all other games teams are not ranked in top 50...It would be like one of the Patriots championship teams playing Stephenville, TX HS team...not dealing with the same thing...

All I got to say is that bill got Brady in the 6th round and look how that turned out also belicheck had a chance to get Rivers Andy dalton and even cam Newton but he didn’t even show any interest in any of them he is saying that Stid is the quarterback and I trust his football iq and decisions he makes regarding the team even if it seems crazy it always seem to work out for the patriots. I for one am not betting on the bills jets or dolphins beating out the patriots in their division and I’m sure there are a lot of other people who think the same even though lots of people think that the patriots are in a rebuilding mode. As long as they have bill they are a top team and as long as they have bill and mcdaniels I think they are still a super bowl threat those guys are smart and work great together remember Matt Cassell jacoby brissett and jimmy g all looked like stud qbs with the patriots even though jimmy g has had success with the 49ers the other two haven’t had success since leaving New England brissett still has an opportunity but I don’t think he will be the starter next year rivers will. I said all that to say this don’t ever bet against a mastermind they are always at least 2 steps ahead if not more and even though I’m not a patriots fan if I were I wouldn’t worry you got the greatest coach of all time who had a major part in making the greatest qb of all time. Now Brady has the motivation to be the best but you can have all the motivation in the world and not be in the right spot and you will still fail. Not saying bill made Brady but I am saying without bill Brady wouldn’t be considered the goat.

I like stidham. I just wish he changed his jersey number. In Chinese number 4 is bad luck cuz it sounds like the word die. Look at Dak Prescott. He had a great rookie season and then died (not literally of course). Watson had a big lead on mahomes and let Chiefs win. 3 teams pulled a falcon last year (Texans, Titans and 49ers). If Ravens beat Titans, I guarantee Ravens will beat chiefs in AFC championship game. Lamar is on Madden cover. Let's see if he gets the curse next year. Yes, we all know mahomes won super bowl with Madden cover but he did get injured. Will Lamar follow in mahomes steps? Win MVP previous year, get hurt, then win Super bowl next year.

IF YOUR AN SEC GUY YOUR NOT AN INFORMED SEC GUY...there were numerous reasons his last yr at AU didn't go as expected for anyone associated with the program...and by the way, your also ignorant on the facts...Kerryon Johnson and the break-out stud receivers AU had was during his 1st yr at AU NOT HIS LAST YR THERE...the O-LINE, & receivers were using walk-on's, moving guys from Defense & AU had basically only 1 RB w any experience...point being his last year the team was decimated by injury...4 of 5 O-Line and 2 deep guys were injured significantly most missing the entire yr...AU receivers were in worse shape as the top 3 receivers from his 1st yr had horrific knee injuries in spring practice and in fall practice up to game 2 of the season...leaving AU and Stidham with basically no protection, literal walk-on receivers and former DBs bc all of the scholarship receivers were injured..never seen anything like it...AU also played, as it does every year, one of if not the toughest schedule in the country...How can u say he failed at AU...His first yr AU was 1 -2 plays away from making it to the College Play-offs...but of course, Bammer gets the nod even though they didn't win the division...Stidham not only defeated Bama who was proclaimed to be the greatest team of all time but did it the week following putting a beatdown on then #1 UGA...In the Bama Game, his 1st yr Kerryon was injured..(kerryon was drafted in1st round after stidhams 1st yr and wasn't around his 2nd yr nor were AU #2 and #3 RB from Stidhams 1st yr...so get ur facts right please...also failed to mention.our top 3 receivers injured and a #1 draft pick DB decided not to play in games after the season including SECCG...UCF game was a joke bc AU didn't want to be there...if they didn't have the start of their bad luck w injuries then Au would have beaten UGA in the SECCG and Au would be in playoffs, not Bammer...The most problematic issue his last yr was with all the injuries and uncertainty w players the HC and OC butted heads almost daily resulting in the OC being forced out prior to the Bowl game and AU HC going back to what made him an SEC Coach and the guru of Offenses...he gave up play-calling Stidhams last yr...but when the season fell flat (with the #1 most difficult schedule in the country AU lost 4 games w none being blowouts that I can recall)...AU HC took back over the play-calling role for 1st time all yr for the bowl game and as he had done in prior yrs...the result was an offensive explosion vs a decent Purdue team...AU had scored 53 or 60 points at half time...Play calling is key..experience cohesive line is key and receivers who can get separation and actually catch the ball and not drop 40% that hit them in stride left Stidham frustrated & tentative...not wanting to get injured but he stuck with it...so for you to say he was a failure your not informed, knowledgeable or understand what the circumstances were...just read a few articles by "journalists who regurgitate the same song and dance...how about researching first...may help...not intended to rant but statements made on assumptions, opinions and not on verifiable facts irk my arse...Stidham will do fine if those 3 primary things I mentioned AU lacked his last yr there fall into place for him in New England...and by the way, I'm not only an SEC guy, I'm an Auburn man who actually attended AU and earned 2 degrees as well played baseball and have been active with the athletic department ever since...more than 30 yrs so I am knowledgeable on this subject matter more than most...

@@Capt_OscarMike Well here is a Fact: the 3 things listed that Stidham needs to fall into place at NE to be successful... Won't happen, Truth is Bill Bilicheck did all he could to sabotage Tom Brady's last several seasons, 1. No consistent running game 2. Weak O-line 3. Besides Edelman, NO WIDE RECEIVERS... Brady took NE as far as he could the last few years with minimal talent. Brady was special and Belicheck's ego will see that this year, they have one of the toughest schedules and will be lucky to go 6-10.. People seem to forget, Belichick couldn't win with Kosar, Testeverde, Bledsoe. He had a losing record as a Head Coach before Brady...He now thinks he can win with ANY QB?? Good Luck Bill....

hotchowder I will take that bet the patriots will have a winning season and probably even win their division, Brady has been injured before and suspended what happened the patriots kept winning and they beat some of the best teams the nfl had to offer like that year they had no chance to beat the high flying cardinals without Brady but what happened the patriots beat them and I believe it was in the cardinals house also. I will take that bet they will be much better than 6-10 and I am not a patriots fan I a packer fan, but you can’t ever count out the patriots even when they are down they still find a way to win and they still had a great year last year other teams would have loved to have had the season the patriots had I know they had Brady still at that time but their offense was not nearly as good as in previous years perhaps the worst offensive season they have had in Brady’s tenure and you can blame the receivers or the running backs or the o-line but you can also say that Brady has lost a step and that maybe he is one of those prideful men such as myself that just doesn’t know when to give up. I guess we will see I have a bet for you I bet the patriots do better than the buccaneers this upcoming season. Why do you think Bill hasn’t gone for a qb at all he has worked with Stid and seen him practicing and he has decided that this is the guy who knows his system best you don’t have to be the most athletic or talented quarterback in the world to play for Bill you just got to be smart and hardworking just ask Brady in all honesty Brady does not have the athleticism or talent of top qbs in the league but what did he have the smarts and the motivation to win. That’s why he is the goat not like the pats have had big time playmaker athlete at qb just a smart do your job qb and if bill says Stid is his quarterback than he knows something we don’t bill has made backup qbs look like pro bowlers more than once he will do it again I’ll bet on it
