@@vvterr_ He just got p*ssed that even after all those years of dumping him, she still hasn't changed a bit. All Athena sees is the battlefield. Odysseus has to see the bloody aftermath. He has to live with the fact that war destroys lives and spills blood. He wants to be better than that. Better than her. A warrior of the mind is using cunning to win a battle, not just killing all threats that stand before you.

I'm enamored with how Athena's eyebrows RAISE at "No?" It makes her look less angry, and more intrigued, which actually fits her character and low intonation. She's not scared she's losing control yet, but she's on the edge, and letting Odysseus that he must choose his next words *very* carefully.

You know, Odysseus is one of the few heroes in Greek Myth not to meet a tragic end and have a fairly happy ending with his wife and son. But you gotta admit he went through CRAP before he finally made it.

Fun fact there IS a lost epic called the Telegony that gives him a tragic end (dead at the hands of an illegitimate child he had with Circe) but most people ignore it since its lost and all we have is a brief summary. Not only that but it also contradicts several parts of the Odyssey and even has all the characters act a little off. Oh and it was also written at least a century after Homer lived and the Odyssey was written so it's more like ancient fanfiction lol

Mercy IS a skill more of the world could learn to use - but it has no place when you've already made the decision to strike at an enemy. Real life isn't an episode of DBZ, and unfortunately, neither was Odysseus' story. The minute he drew blood, he was left with no "good" options, and the wisest course would have been to finish the job.

Clever as hell And hearing this entire sequence in the musical? From the talk between the Cyclops', Odysseus' argument with Athena and then him calling out to the Cyclops to reveal gis true name, endangering his entire men and his own life? Fuckin beautiful Along with your art and animatic, it makes it all the more beautiful. Great job on drawing out this entire sequence! From the expressions, background, shading? Beautiful 👍🏽

I kind a wish there was maybe a sign of Hebe, the goddess of youth, in the song because yes you wouldn’t think that she would be apart of this but she’s also the goddess of forgiveness and forgiveness can be involved with mercy. With the two concepts being similar in emotions. I understand the Mercy aspect of Odysseus represent his human spirit but it would’ve just been cool to see another god involved. After all, Ares is the god of more physical fighting in war while Athena’s more strategy but neither of them really show mercy in that sense, especially with war. So it would have been great drama to see Hebe or Eleos, gods who don’t seem to fit in this situation, have a part in it.
