This was a fitting way for the 75th season to end, 2 of the original teams battling it out in the grandest stage the Nba Finals and the team who won the championship in the inaugural year of this league comes away with the championship and Curry proving everyone wrong and getting that fmvp is such a special moment.

Yo that’s cool. 💯 it would’ve been cool to see Boston’s 18th title for the 75th anniversary, but like you said Warriors winning with Steph cementing his legacy as a top 10 player was special as well. 👏

They actually played each other in the finals in 1964. Boston won because they had Russell, who was the Jordan of his day (or the Shaq). My dad lived in SF at the time and his high school rooted for Boston because of how good they were. So this was the 'revenge series' for GSW, even though only a few people remember the series.

As a Warriors fan this is my favorite season yet, Curry and the Warriors consistently being doubted and then proved everyone wrong, Curry passing the great Ray Allen for the Nba all time 3 pt record in Msg, Klay returning, Curry with 16 3’s in the Asg and the Asg Mvp, Poole and Gp2’s emergence onto the league, Wiggins proving everyone wrong that he is that guy, Draymond getting somewhat back to his old self (should’ve won Dpoy), Curry’s game winner against the Rockets, the big 3’s first game back with each other on Steph’s birthday and lastly the Warriors coming together and piecing together a finals run I will never forget that ended in Curry getting his fmvp that he deserves so much and the Warriors hoisting the Larry O’brien trophy. I’ve watched almost every Warriors game this year and I’ve witnessed many iconic moments this year, im so proud of this team and this is OUR YEAR!!!!!! Wiggins was supposed to be next big star player but didn’t fit in any of the previous teams due to a lot of inexperienced & young teammates or not proper coaching. Happy he finally found his role, I believe he can even be better as long he is around the right people. The warriors also had a really good bench w a lot of young players who needed to prove for themselves. With the help of weathered veterans and a great coach, these players have a bright future even if they leave the warriors. As of Tatum, I think he will be even better in the next couple years. The 2014 team was the only one where TD wasn’t clearly the best player, probably the most egalitarian side to win a title, everyone was a role player in a sense. Kawhi’s defence at that time set him apart and made him the most valuable guy on the roster and the difference between them being a good playoff team and a contender.

People arguing defense are tougher in the past are delusional.. People forgot how easy it was for superstar players like MJ to draw foul calls when they were hand-checked, they almost always get the call every single time... In contrary to this season, the refs are ignoring any physical contact initiated by the ball handler.. Anyone can argue that this season the NBA is as physical as it has ever been.

I’m a big Curry fan but I like the challenge of finding other guys who have ‘changed the game’. I’m an old guy so my list refers to some ancient players: George Mikan: voted the best player of the first half of the 20th century, he introduced the mobile big man that created Russell, Wilt, Olajuwon, et. al. Bob Cousy: the ball handling magician of his day. You might pair him with Meadowlark Lemon, who influenced a lot of kids in those days with his ball handling shows for the Globetrotters. Magic & Bird. They must go together, of course. Take it from me, the NBA was dull in those days (the excitement of ‘three to make two’). These guys jazzed things up. The ABA. Remember they introduced the three point shot and guys like Dr. J put the dunk in the everyday game. David Stern: got rid of the stupid rules against zone defenses

@@someshnarayan7368 I believe that mentality can be gained over time. It just takes a lot of practice and experience. Some have it earlier, some may gain it later. It just depends who they surround with and coaches. Kobe was nowhere like that when he started off, did he have the technical abilities? Sure, but he took time to develop to the next level after Shaq left bc he wasn’t in the shadows anymore and found his role. Funny thing is that Kobe lost in the finals against an experienced Celtics team 2-4 in 07/08 (2 years after shaq). This current Celtics team (average age below league’s avg) on paper looks great, I believe they have a good shot at winning the finals the next upcoming seasons as long they can retain everyone and add that extra umph/player to the team. I lived in Europe half my life and it’s different mentality out there then over here in the States. As of now Tautum is a team player, asking him those kind of questions after losing the finals is kind of unfair to judge him.

7:21 recency bias kicking in. Steph Curry's impact on the game and how it's played is significant for this generation of great players, but don't pretend that others on this list didn't impact it in an equally significant way, particularly Shaq. There were A LOT of rule changes and style changes made to the NBA because of Shaq, like introducing the Zone defense to the NBA. He was just as unstoppable though in a different way than Steph and his impact is every bit as significant! Other players who came before Steph who changed the game and how it's played: Bob Cousy Wilt Chamberlain David Thompson Julius Erving Magic Johnson Kareem Abdul-Jabbar A far from complete list, but let's not pretend like the NBA was boring and unwatchable the previous 60 years before Steph came along with his barrage of perimeter scoring. So many players impacted it equally if not more significant ways before he was even born.

I love Curry as much as the next guy but he still hasn't passed any of the guys you named - Kobe in particular. Yes, Steph is an all time great, that has 4 rings, 2 MVP's and a FMVP (finally). He also helped revolutionize the game into what it is today. However, let's not act like Kobe wasn't everything Steph was, and more... 5 rings, 2 FMVP's, and an MVP. Inspired countless with his mindset, and unlike Curry, he was an elite defender. Not decent or good, elite, and defense is half of the game. Again, all the respect to Curry, but let's not be prisoners of the moment. Guy still has a few good years ahead of him, and he has more than a chance at getting more rings and a FMVP or two. I just don't get this disrespect to the other greats... I mean hell, at least let the guy retire first...

My problem with this narrative is why with those same Accolades is everyone cool with Kobe being 9, and Bron being 2. Steph has the same amount of titles with less finals and now has almost as many trophies as Bron and a few that he doesn’t. Including the leagues first unanimous mvp and unanimous Finals MVP. 3000 3 point record and counting. And he’s changed the game of basketball. Bron has had a longer career and is still playing, but he still gets to be ranked #2. I’d rather be a prisoner to the moment than a prisoner to history and not be able to admit when we’re seeing something we’ve never seen before, and he’s done it with the same team. Kobe wasn’t everything Steph is, his percentage isn’t the same. If Kobe hit 50, he put up 100. It’s not the same. And we’re comparing elite defense to a 6’3 point guard. I’d put Kobe and Steph in front of Larry Bird. He didn’t ‘help’ revolutionize the game. HE revolutionized it. Don’t downplay that man’s accomplishments

@@jayowulf8464 Personally I have Kobe higher than 9, and personally I think it's ridiculous for him to be ranked lower than 7. I'm also not big on the LeBron hype train, he is definitely top 5, maybe top 3, and he will likely finish as top 2 - But again, personally, I'd wait to see if he gets a few more accolades under his belt - Like breaking Kareem's record. I value rings really highly, but I also think that not every ring is the same. For example I would put Hakeem over Shaq in my list, although it would be a close call. It's well known that Kobe wasn't the most effective player. But he also played in the slowest, most defensive dominant, and least effective era - Just look up the stats. I'm not denying that Steph is more efficient than Kobe - Hell, he's one of the most efficient players (shooters namely) in history. But when you look at what each of them did, and how they contributed to their teams, Kobe did more. Again, defense is half of the game. You cannot simply discredit something as major as that. Nobody is expecting him to have a DPOY under his belt, but it's only recently that he's became an average, to slightly above average defender. For a big part of his career he was below average, and a liability. Kobe on the other hand was elite for most of his career, and average for a small part near his retirement - This doesn't only apply to Kobe either; both Duncan and Hakeem were elite defenders as well. And I'm not downplaying his accomplishments either. Just because I have him in the top 12-15 range on my list doesn't mean that I think he's bad - He's still (at least) a top 15 player OF ALL TIME. That's still amazing. I just don't think he deserves to go in front of some of the other guys for simply "revolutionizing" the game - I mean each and every person in that top 10 revolutionized the game in their own way. You can argue that Steph was more impactful than most, but is that really enough to just outright disregard everything else? I mean Duncan has more rings, more FMVP's same amount of MVP's and 15 defensive first teams to Curry's 0. Does that not count for anything?
