So good to see some of England again and with Tony's down to earth explications. My wife asked me " Who is him?" I replied "It's Baldrick, he's a national institution and beyond reproach" ... more confused looks ..... great work and thank you for sharing it.

Tony walks the oldest part of the Ridgeway, and in my opinion the best part, but it extends east over the Thames to Ivinghoe Beacon near Tring, and you can also walk west from Avebury to the coast at Lyme Regis along the Wessex Ridgeway. I've done the whole length (not in one go), and it was wonderful but exhausting.

Taking a break from A Hatful of Sky to watch this. I didn't know that there was more than one chalk horse. This must be the one referred to in the book? And it's so beautiful! I still have trouble believing that it's ancient - it looks like like something that Picasso or Matisse would have drawn. Someday I'm going to take this walk myself.

weird how theres a million ways to draw/carve/build but seemed to be only few dozen or so styles in ancient days. im sure theres alot i just havnt seen but that horse looks alot like the "stylized horses" from minoans or miceneans i think it was. think (some)old eastern horse art looked very similar, bit bulkier. seems like very similar general art styles all over.

@@clairem6616 No, I am not "one of those people". It is understandable that you used truth as a synonym for facts. Unfortunately, too many people conflate the 2 words, and their respective meanings. It is bad to speculate, and then propagate that speculation as the true story. That is the crux of my issue with science.
