We were all given the gifts - 1 Corinthians 12:13 - People are healing, casting out demons, and it's not only for those who go to church. If the Holy Spirit dwells in us- In Christ, all is possible.
The gift of the Spirit are still for today
Very righteous. Daimonizomai means inspired by demons, not possessed. A verb is not an adjective. So a violent lunatic and my Baptist preacher are both inspired by demons
hi, you mentioned in this that there are some who have discernment who can tell a false prophet spirit. or someone who spoke a prophecy with a demon spirit. if someone did that, spoke like it was God but it was not is that the same as the blasphmey against The Holy Spirit. and can they get forgiven or delivered from that demon or not. thank you

Way too many "I thinks" in this one... Need a more methodical Biblical approach on this. And there is certainly room for an "I don't have an absolute answer" (Deut 29:29). Your summary here should be the starting point for this discussion of demon possession and spiritual gifts...

We understand the pop-culture link between Catholicism and exorcisms, but the question should be broadened to the casting out of demons by any person of any faith background. This definitely is a question that exists in the "open corner" as Dan puts it. It may help to frame the study around who has power over the spirit realm and how we connect with that power. After thinking through those topics it may inform our further questions or studies, but as Dan made clear - the scriptures doesn't give us a direct answer on everything related to the spiritual realms.

Understood. This kind of thing has fascinated me from a spiritual standpoint from the time I first began to look for answers. The fact that the Bible talks about "unclean spirits", magicians, and lower case "g" gods tells of a dimension beyond our understanding. That leads to questions about the dangers of "Ouija Boards" and whether or not Halloween is blasphemous. The rabbit hole could go pretty deep here.
