    @@JakeRichardsong I was actually going to reply something similar regarding Roy Orbison. But Elvis may have said something with similar praise about Tom Jones as well. I do know that all three had tons of respect for each other and Tom talks about being friends with Elvis on an April 19th WTF podcast with Marc Maron. It's a great listen. Elvis never covered a song that Roy Orbison did first and was reported to say he would never follow Roy in a concert setting.

    I just saw him in concert a week ago. At almost 83, his voice has just gotten BETTER. I was full of goosebumps for half the show. I loved seeing all the older ladies who probably listened to him as teens up and dancing and singing along. "Flirted" with a couple of them myself, because why not? :D It was an amazing night!

    You had not only white groups but black groups too with phenomenal voices. Back in that time they wore suits & we're always polished. I love recommending songs to you & other reactors as it opens you up to a new group of music. My deceased sister & oldest brother danced on a show called The Hop in Illinois when I was 5-6 yrs old. They won a lot of the contests as well they skate danced. I miss those good old days as the music of the 50's, 60's & 70's was the best.

    OMG. My mom adored this man. Had all his records. Took me to see him in concert in Atlantic City years ago. He was incredible. She passed two years ago. I still have all the vinyl.

    Great Reaction again and I have Subscribed. :) Contrary to popular British belief this song was written 2 years b4 Tom started his musical career and his heart was only broken 50 years later when his wife died.She loved the quiet life while Tom enjoyed the company of over 1,000 Women in Vegas and on tour and the Ladies used to throw their underwear and hotel keys to him while he was on stage !

    I love Tom and his powerful voice. The reality is though that he does not have the power or range at 80 that he did when he sang this. The hard cold truth is that his strength and power is diminishing. Sad, but true. I will never stop listening to him though.

    Tom has always made a primary point of taking care of his voice, His voice was the single most important thing to him as it was how he made a living therefore he made sure it was rested and warmed up properly. That care has paid off as at 80 he can still kill it.

    And he cheated on her which resulted in a kid called Jonathan Berkery, he refused to admit was his son even for a couple decades after DNA test confirmed it was his. He agreed to pay £1700 a month child maintenance (which was pittance to him) but Jonathan ended up living homeless and busking for loose change while Tom lives it up in his expensive place. Tom Jones even blamed Jonathan's mother for 'tricking' and 'seducing' him, because Tom can't accept any damn responsibility for his own crappy actions. Basically Tom Jones is a great singer but a shitty person.

    Except that he had dozens and dozens of affairs. It's quite possible that some other woman broke his heart. But despite his personal life, he was a great singer. At one point, at the height of his career, he claimed to have slept with over 250 women, but he lost count.

    Nobody broke his heart. He's still married to his wife of I believe over fifty years. I think the "heartbreak" was done to the song writer. Tom just had the voice and unbelievable emotion in that voice.

    I don't think anyone has broken Tom's heart, he's just a brilliant singer. He's still doing live concerts now at 83 years old.

    Saw him perform live for the first time when I was 13. Saw him again when I was 50. Both times amazing!!! One of the few performers whose voice has held up all these years. Always been one of my favorite singers.

    I watched this man sing live this Saturday just gone at Haydock Race Park, aged 81, still sounds this powerful, still singing with so much emotion, still so much the showman. What an absolute living legend Tom Jones..

    You simply won't find many pop singers today who can come close to this. There was no auto-tune, no digital mastering... it was raw talent.

    I remember a group of doctors back then said he would have no voice within eight years if he continued singing like this. Boy were they wrong! He still is great and over eighty now.

    Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey are two of the greatest Welsh Singers of all time. Both from the same era and jaw droppingly good. Both elderly now but had incredible careers. The country of Wales (part of the UK) is famous for great singers and traditionally choirs from coal mining communities. Loved watching your reaction and the bit that made me laugh was when you said "goes by the name of Tom Jones"....... He's hugely famous, played every venue you can name including long residencies in Las Vegas. Great video, made me smile, thank you.

    Tom Jones is on a show called the voice he's a judge and often belts out a tune! He hasn't lost his voice he still sings with his full voice it's awesome!

    These are the artist that made all folks from all backgrounds enjoy music together! Tom Jones was the bomb in the late 60s, early 70s! The man at 82, still can sing with the same intensity and voice.

    I’ve sung this song along with him a million times I was 19 when this GOAT song came out, he had his own television show and the women would just throw themselves ( along with their unmentionables) at his feet. It so nice to see this young woman appreciate what I’ve know for over 50 years

    I believe he was chatting to his wife - who has - now passed - about how “she would never fall in love - again” - his notorious affairs and child outside of the marriage- have to agree his voice - priceless - something tells me - NOW - “would never fall in love again” in part to his unfaithfulness- BING - BANG - BOOM!

    Tom is a judge on The Voice UK, a couple of years ago Peter Donegan tried out on the show, when Tom asked his name and then asked if he was related to Lonnie Donegan, to Tom’s surprise Peter is Lonnie’s son Lonnie Donegan wrote this song.

    You should Google that song when he sang it at 80 years old on the British show of The Voice. He actually sang it even better at 80 than he did when he was forty in this clip. You have to Google it for his voice ages like a fine wine where he had the other judges tearing up!!

    Tom Jones is one of the best singers of all time. When I first heard him in the 60s I was gobsmacked what a fantastic Era that was. Engelbert, Matt Monro, just to name a few.

    My brother, this was a man among men, back in the day, and if you watch The Voice, you will have seen him in his older days. Still active. I think he is like 83 now, yet he looks not a day over 60.

    @@ninahndz5880 i know what you mean, but Tom Jones' voice always stood out. ~I can't think of any male voice in popular music that could compare with the combination of power, range, control and emotion that Tom Jones had. Now at 81 although there might be slightly less power and range than in his heyday, he is still astonishingly brilliant.

    Fascinating fact, this song was written for Tom by legendary rock and roller Lonnie Donnegan and just this year his son was a contestant on the Voice and only Tom turned around. They then sang this song together

    Lonnie was a Skiffle singer, never a rock and roller and Lonnie put out this song in 1962. Tom did his version five years later. Tom misremembered this on The Voice.

    The man who wrote this song for Tom, his son tried out on The Voice UK. After he auditioned and told Tom who his father was Tom asked him if he wanted to play a little of it and he would sing. You need to listen to that because Tom's voice all these years later is just as good.
