[To All Who Listen to Shunyamurti’s Teachings: Thank you all for your serious consideration of these ideas, which are intended to help you live a more coherent, peaceful, creative, compassionate, and productive life, and to be of service to the welfare of our world. We understand that our approach to existential concerns is not for everyone. We honor your right to disagree with these ideas and to stop listening if you do not like them. We gladly post comments with disagreements, if they are stated in a positive and mature manner, that allows civilized discourse about your own contrary ideas, and which may spark further useful and profound thought about the important issues that the teachings raise. If there are sincere questions about the teachings, or misunderstandings that can be clarified, Shunyamurti is always ready and willing to respond with helpful elaborations and even to cite texts and other authors whose writings may be of assistance to serious seekers. But comments that are simply angry and insulting, immature and unreasonable, will be removed because they undermine the educational and inspirational purpose of this project. Those who have questions that are more personal should write us in a private email and one of the teachers in our wisdom school will respond in the same way, or if the question is a very subtle or difficult one and requires a response from Shunyamurti, we will forward it to him on your behalf, and when he can, he will respond personally. By the way, we want to clarify that these teachings are new, they are not simply a repetition of old traditional teachings, but integrate current thought in the sciences, psychology, cultural studies, and philosophy. Shunyamurti speaks from his own realizations and deep clinical experience as a healer.]

I always see colors when I close my eyes even in a totally dark room. Usually, I see purple and indigo. One time, I had a particular intense experience during a meditation and I saw a purple "cloud" in my vision for days even when my eyes were open. Apparently, it's a thing (violet flame).

I kept perceiving what appeared to be a kind of hurricane eye, that would swirl in a variety of colors, mostly blue and violet, and intermittently become an actual eye, contracting and expanding, morphing into spirals, into colored silks whirling and dancing. It was beautiful, and so is everyone here

Most likely its the light from your room. But if you open your third eye then you will definitely see colors and patterns.. for a while. But when you go deeper it will be blacker than anything (void) even if you're sitting in front of a light. lol

I’ve been a regular meditator for 50 years. The phenomenal appearances of light music nectar all come at various times occurring with various levels of absorption in silence. I used to look for them as a sign to affirm I was on the right track but over the years I’ve come to recognize the benefits of practice and deepening practice are more about the subtle shift of consciousness into freedom and joy arising in my everyday interactions outside of formal sitting. Even in lighter states of meditation I kfeel the brilliance of being and surprisingly recognize the work that is happening on me even after sessions that once I thought were a fruitless struggle with my restless mind. Just keep up the practice the rewards are endless .

It's not the case where as you say 'I am left as the awareness'. This would mean you are firstly a "person.. When in fact you are the awareness firstly and the person appears as an imagination you're egoic mind has dreamed up. You are not a person finding awareness, you are awareness already only 'thinking' the belief that you're a person lol. If that makes no sense I hope you get a good laugh at it anyway 😂💚💚

Namaskara 🙏 "I am not the body," - inhale "I am not even the mind," - exhale "There is no past," - inhale "There is no any future," - exhale "I am being in eternal present," - inhale "Who am I..?" - exhale My favourite technique. However... Well, sense of time goes away first. Time vanishes most easily as its illusion is most obvious. Then, in my experience, the mind goes second. Good concentration and focus helps in getting rid of the mind. I still struggle with the body... I find it just hectic to disassociate from the own body. Never happened to me so far. Most of the time I have very pleasant experience - butterflies in the chest, some trill in low abdomen, pleasant warmth behind eyes, goosebumps etc. Sometimes few tears come down and tickle my cheeks and neck immediately after which my body shudders. Baba, how to deal with these body senses? When it happens it brings back my mind because the mind proceses these senses as an expirience. How to get rid of the body? Help 🙏 Thanks heaps in advance for your advice. Om 🙏

Just like in a dream, all things in the dream, all characters in the dreams are nothing other than the dreamers mind, in the same way too this reality, the entire universe from the gross to the subtle is nothing other than you (awareness). Because of the reminder. It reminds the idea of me "my identity" to surrender and rest as awareness.. to go subtler in that.. and in that I find so much peace, freedom and enjoyment. In that I also prioritize it because I see it contains all the qualities I seek.. and in prioritizing it my whole experience of life changes and so I'm always thankful for these kind of reminders. 🌞

I am curious and I am sure many others are too. The core philosophy of Advaita Vedanta is experiencing Brahman. Most likely through self-enquiry by direct method. Not sure how long the other method "devotion" works or not. The late Ramana Maharishi was a big proponent of self-enquiry and so is the Ramakrishna Order, the four Adi Shankaracharya maths etc. How many people have experienced Brahman via direct method? How long is the average training of self-enquiry to experience Brahman take? These are fundamental questions. I hope the experts here can answer it. Perhaps the experts can find out and reply here? I posed the same question to a couple of ashram folks but did not hear back.

Everyone is different. I had the experience of Brahman before ever practicing self inquiry. An enlightenment moment, an awakening, a non-dual experience... Call it what you will. It was so powerful it woke me from this illusion and I've been practicing since. Trying to abide in this state that was only briefly experienced. We're programmed from a young age away from this state, we're born in touch with this but our awareness is soon consumed, our focus pulled. It's still there, you're just veiled from it. Keep practicing. You will experience it.

Everyone falls into a hypnotic state thru trauma. "true meditation" will make one aware of thoughts (and more) that is going on inside them - bring them to a present were truth is. It can lead them to salvation

Love this meditation overall... Would be more ideal if there were not loud birds and coughs and more going on constantly in the background.

@@kundaliniairport yes lol, I had only begun learning meditation at this time. Laughing in the face of people makes you feel good.. Hmmm. Seems you don't even practice meditation at all. Good luck with that ego
