Whitney's Underrated Performances: BET 2001
Honestly, this era (2001-2002) as a whole is extremely underrated.
Since there isn't much content about Whitney's underrated performances, I am starting a series to showcase them, much like this video. Please like and subscribe for more!
Credits to • Whitney Houston- I hav... for the original footage of the performance.

This is a perfect example of how even though her voice was not where it was, she was able to still deliver a top notch performance with her musicality and emotional delivery.
This was fantastic, we had a lot of the same opinions which most don’t. I’d love to see more of these!!!

Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm definitely planning on continuing this series over the coming days.
Creativity, artistry, and intelligence! She used such gifts to compensate for her hoarse voice due to health issues! Whitney is forever! ❤
I remember this night on Bet awards 2001 and watching it I lover her tone here
I love this performance so much !

Me too!
Another underrated performance that many haven’t seen is in 2007 where she performed I Will Always Love you Live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Thank you so much for this suggestion! I love that performance too. I was actually planning on doing it next after a video on the Porgy/Summertime medley from 1997, which I think is also pretty underrated. Unfortunately, that video got blocked by copyright, so I’m still trying to decide how to order the next few videos, as I don’t want to do too many IWALYs in a row😅

please dont get me wrong.....everything you said about whitneys outstanding musicality and "one in a Million" voice is absolutely right. But please dont comment about vocal abilities and technique without a specific knowlege....... in this era her vocal technique was no longer correct at all, the voice was already very affected because of this (and probably because of drugs). There are concerts where I really feel sorry for her.

Thanks for your feedback. I agree Whitney's technique wasn't altogether healthy here, considering her voice was no longer in the same condition as it was in the 90s, but I do think there are some parts of her voice that are still very well preserved in this particular performance. For example, the speed of the runs she was able to produce and her tone below the belting range both indicate reasonably good vocal condition. I think 2002-2003 was really when her condition and technique took a turn for the worst, and it wasn't until 2004 when she was able to readjust herself to her new voice.

no.. I'm this era she was fine...it was post this ear that it went downhill. She gave every outstanding performances on her 66 date tour in 1999
