Mariah Carey Sings “I'll Be There” Crying at MJ's Memorial 2009

Музыка

This is dedicated to my Dad CEM 9/11/1945 - 9/11/1923✌
💕💕💕 Love & Miss You Michael💕
A memorial service for Michael Jackson was held on July 7, 2009, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, twelve days after his death. The event was preceded by a private family service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park's Hall of Liberty in Hollywood Hills, and followed by a gathering in Beverly Hills for Jackson's family and close friends.
Inside the service
Jackson's closed, solid-bronze casket, plated with 14-karat gold and lined with blue velvet, which was not originally expected to be at the memorial service, arrived just before 10:00 a.m. local time when it was placed in front of the stage. The memorial began a few minutes after 10:30 a.m. with music and a eulogy from Pastor Lucious Smith. The stage was filled with floral arrangements, with photographs and film of Jackson and the Jackson 5 projected onto screens at the back. Music and video montages traced his life from the beginning of his career to the end.
Jackson's brothers, sitting in the front row, each wore a single white sequined glove in tribute to their brother. Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Jermaine Jackson, and Shaheen Jafargholi sang Jackson's songs, and John Mayer played guitar. Berry Gordy, Brooke Shields, and Smokey Robinson gave eulogies, while Queen Latifah read "We Had Him", a poem written for the occasion by Maya Angelou. The Reverend Al Sharpton received a standing ovation when he told Jackson's children, "Wasn't nothing strange about your daddy. It was strange what your daddy had to deal with."
Toward the end, the family gathered on stage to offer the final eulogies. Jackson's then-11-year-old daughter, Paris, while unable to give her speech without crying, told the crowd, "I just want to say, ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine, and I just want to say I love him... so much." Additionally, an emotional Marlon Jackson said, "Maybe now, Michael, they will leave you alone," and requested that Michael give their brother Brandon (Marlon's twin, who died shortly after birth) a hug for him.

What a life this man lived. The punishing times he endured with his dad. Little time when he was a child to be a child. Even had a grown mans persona on stage as a kid. Just as he came into his manhood, the Pepsi commercial physically and mentally damaged him in more ways than one. A soft spoken, gentleman who worked hard to make parts of the world that many of us will never see, better. The most charitable entertainer ever. Of all genres. Hopefully Michael, you've finally found the place that God intended for you to have complete and everlasting peace and happiness without competition or criticism. And just be you.

@@ricardodiaz3876 During the making of a Pepsi commercial, there was an incident where a part of the lighting setup malfunctioned. This caused sparks, some landing on his head. But just being Mike, he continued without knowing that some of those sparks were burning through his hair and heading to his scalp. By the time the rest of the set noticed his head smoking and began to rush to him, his head was in flames. I'm not sure how extensive the burns were, but I remember that being around the time the makeup got heavier and the hair styles became more enhanced (for lack of a better word).

Close. If you notice, her hands move in conjunction with the melodic progression of her voice. She presses her thumb and index finger together either when she changes notes or closes her hand when she holds a note and carries it to the side until the note ends. I think her hands are like sheet music for her and she uses them to guide her voice.

I could tell that Mariah Was Seriously Emotional in that performance. The way she sang gave me goosebumps but also showed me that even when a LEGEND is gone, we still have to remember them. And that's what made the entire tribute so special. I can't even imagine without watching MJ's iconic moments: like moonwalking, the glove that he wore when he performed his song "Billie Jean", and that smooth criminal outfit. This is why MJ was the KING OF POP. I've always been a Michael Jackson Fan since watching THIS IS IT and to this day i still am. 😔😭 RIP King Of POP. A LEGEND gone far too soon

Logic tells you that man is innocent because you can bet you're sweet ass had there been any other "abused" children they would have went to the prosecutor to validate the story. better yet why didn't they testify at trial. He was acquitted at trial because they found that the accusations were a scam. They wanted more money and got pissed when Michael Jackson stop the money. He wasn't what everybody wanted to say he was. Keep in , Stars have persona they show the world and then they have personal life. Michael Jackson was no Bill Cosby I can tell you that. My husband and I had just finished cleaning the house, just sat down with dinner and was about to watch the news. I'm crying right now. The local anchor came on, and you could tell immediately something was wrong.. He said "Ladies and Gentlemen, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, is dead tonight at age 50.." We looked at each other and start crying 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I know the feeling you reminded me of the passing of Nelson Mandela, because I struggle with insomnia,I was wide awake when I saw the breaking news, I didn't know what to do so I was knocking door to door telling people in my compound about the passing of Nelson Mandela.i never cried but something deep inside me died

😭😭😭😭😭😭 MJ was the most talented person to ever exist in this world. He could literally do things that nobody could do and that's what made him special in his lifetime. So to hear that he died was really painful and tragic because he was the LEGEND, an ICON, a PERFORMER, a SINGER, and A DANCER. Those words bring a whole lot of meaning about the late MJ. Without his energy, the world will end up being an empty place. 😔❤. RIP MJ 🙏.

I grew up with the Jackson 5, Saturday morning cartoons, listened through Off the Wall, watched the MTV world premier of the Thriller video with a couple of friends… I never saw MJ live, I was always a rock/metal fan (was thrilled when Eddie Van Halen performed on Beat It), but the worlds has had a hole in it since MJ passed. There will never be another.

Michael Jackson died the King of Pop, but simply became : #TheKingMJ4Ever 💖 I know that he really was an "#EarthAngel" & seriously fought to eradicate all #ChildAbuse & end the lies which seek to deny our humanity, our connection to higher ground. #MJ was annointed b4 he was born. A true musical icon. The greatest Entertainer that ever graced a stage. #MJ always felt the stage was where he felt most a home, most safe. After all, he grew up on the stage in front of humanity all over the world. Gifted, mega-talented, a visionary, genius.. there will never, ever be another #MichaelJosephJackson .. He was definitely 2 good 4 ths world .. the void he left is so humonguous that almost 12 yrs later.. We R still grappling with the loss of him. I thank him & his Family 4 the Music, Artistry & Creativity he so generously shared with us. My heart goes out 2 his Family, esp. his children.. All FIVE of them. #RespectLoveCelebrateTheKingMJ4Evr 💖 #EndRacism #BeginEndWithLove4Humanity 😍 #RespectLoveCelebrateTheScruseJacksonFamilies4Evr #AmericanBornAmericanDreams 👌🏾
