The whole music industry weren't prepared for her talent and artistry. They people there weren't expecting it either. With no dancers and lightening she set the whole stage on fire. Lovely couples. It's quite disheartening how the media and the industry divided and destroyed them. Can't get enough of you WH.

I was lying down, listening to music, trying to get some sleep. Suddenly, I started dreaming of Whitney Houston's voice singing "I Believe in You and Me" and "I Will Always Love You." I thought it was just a dream until tears of emotion welled up in my eyes, and I realized that KZread was randomly playing this clip!

@@19rode75 you're completely 100% wrong! As Whitney Houston set herself, she never sings the song the same way twice... On purpose! And glennis Grace does everything she can sound like Whitney Houston on a recording...! The Brilliance of Whitney Houston was her live performances and her mellifluous use of melisma to convey emotion via lyric or Melody. Glennis Grace does not have that whatsoever

Although I will admit, there are parts of Whitney's voice that cannot be replicated...which is why I said ALMOST exactly the same. Dont forget glennis is not a native English speaking person, but still gets (for me and many others at least) so close to sounding like Whitney, so she deserves credit for that surely

And therefore it does not achieve what Whitney Houston could get you vocally at any point in her career. And as far as people listening and confusing her with Whitney's voice, many people ability to listen is shit. people listen to some of the worst singers on the internet and say they sound amazing...🤷🏾‍♂️ What I'm saying are FACTS, it's not up for debate.

Such an underrated performance and probably her last really GREAT LIVE performance. I love it because of all the bad media that surrounded it the days before it was filmed and she went out there and KICKED ASS! even before the airing of the show they kept trying to say she barely sung the lyrics, the background singers did all the singing, she was talking to the floor, her dress was torn etc...and when it aired and we got to see it ourselves, they fkn lied! I came here after reading a 2016 article that referenced this performance. The writer pointed out how seamlessly Whitney Houston directs the musicians in this medley. The true beauty is that most wouldn't notice, but that's the MAGIC of Whitney Houston. Her voice was so beautiful and overwhelming that we didn't see the true depths of her talent. She was so much more than "The Voice" she knew her craft inside and out and could weave beauty into any song with her unique arrangements. It was this God given instinctual talent and knowledge that allowed her voice to soar. 00:17 She gives a head nod for the band to start. 00:25 She turns to face the band to alert for transition 1:45 She drops her arms to let the band know to proceed to next song 2:03 She leads the band into the transition of "How Will I Know" 4:56 She gently gestures with her left hand to let the band know to quiet down. I could go on and on. Whitney should get the same respect that Mariah Carey or Prince get for their talents. No, she didn't write her songs or play any instruments, but what she was able to do was no less powerful. She wasn't just a singer.

The more I watch Whitney, the more I realise that she was far more than just "the voice". Her voice was the most oustanding element but I can tell there was a lot more in the making of Whitney. Her stage presence is well noted but it's her interaction with her band that deserves a lot of respect. She signalled her band to follow each and every transition of her songs seamlessly.

Judy Garland remains the best belter in Hollywood history and she sang full throttle and her voice held for more years than pretty much anyone else before or after her until she died. What's sad is that we lose all the great singers to drugs.

I remember the first time I saw this woman sing and it permanently impacted my life. she was it, beauty, elegance, voice and woman's most powerful virtues bottled into one. class. I don't know when or if we will ever have a star like you again. Inspiration.

The greatest female voice/performer of the 20th Century. Like the river finds the sea, she is a an indelible part of music history for all time, immemorial. Her name is Ms. Houston.

I'm so amazed at how well her voice has developed so much since when she first started. I don't notice it that much in many other vocalists.

Whitney Houston charted 7 consecutive No. From there, she went on a run that's never been matched. Houston's streak began with “Saving All My Love for You,” released in August '85. By October, the track made it to the top of the Billboard charts, marking her first No.

What makes this BEYOND INCREDIBLE and EPIC, is hearing and watching her WORK and I mean WORK around her voice as it is... She almost ALWAYS worked so much harder than most singers, to make it WORK with what she had until she had nothing left to work with. I love this clip so much because there is nothing like watching a master at WORK! xoxo

You notice that when people try to sing Whitney, or MJ or someone who is truly a gift... they can start off really good and u are like hell yeah. But in the end THEY ALWAYS RUN OUT OF GAS!!!
