I'm one of the background dancers. My cousin was the lighting director of this video so I begged him to let the director sneak me in as a background extra and it was so much fun! George and Whitney were so hilarious and easy going and their chemistry was off the charts. At one point I remember George joking during takes and he said "She's gonna un-gay me in a minute!" and Whitney responded, "Boy pls I un-gayed u the moment you laid eyes on me!" And everybody just died of laughter! Miss them both. Hope they still jiving like this up there. RIP both of yous.

Funny thing is, unsure how true it is but apparently MJ and George Michael were at one point in talks to do a collab, but MJ was very cold towards George, completely ignoring him and only speaking to his manager. Tony Tyson II actually the track first existed as a solo for Whitney. George was added later to help boost sales and he sang his part into a telephone and it was all mixed later. it just show how talent for some people is so pervasive, it can get over limitations of technology.

Here's a little fun fact: This song was originally going to be sung by Whitney and Michael Jackson, working with Rodney Jerkins, who co-produced both the "Invincible" album and Whitney's "My Love Is Your Love" album, but MJ didn't want to do duets at the time. So George Michael came in and wanted to change some of the melodies, but Jerkins and Houston were against it. It shows how much of a perfectionist GM was, but in my opinion it turned out great because you obviously have two brilliant singers in the ring, and even though they both had to keep up with each other's vocal partner, they still gave each other space to shine 👍. May they both rest in peace. It's tragic and so sad that neither of them even reached their mid-50s 😢.

Absolutely right Merilyn ! look at his discography ! Duet with Queen, Aretha Franklin, Paul Young, Elton John....., whether in solo or with someone else, it's always a pure tune ! I prefer when he sings with a sound funky like bad boys performed by wham or killer/papa was a rolling stone !

HEARTBREAKING. The lyrics to this song may have held the solution to what appeared to be a challenge they BOTH seemed to repeat: Keeping company with the WRONG people. 'Or, at least people with nowhere NEAR their talent levels, who seemed bent on destroying them. Perhaps if they had been there for each other, they would both still be here now. God Bless them both. They changed the world.

Whitney Houston and George Michael are two of the most talented iconic figures in the history of the music industry. George had a lot of respect in the black community and on black radio. He had the elements of a blue eyed soul brother and was very much influenced by black music. Never to be forgotten.

Dora Jackson Interesting point. Justin Timberlake is a pop/Hip Hop performer more known for his dancing than singing. If I think about today's example of a so-called "blue-eyed soul" singer, I would say Sam Smith is a better fit.

That's because he was super talented and very respectful. He loved the music and respected the origins. It wasn't a gimmick, it was genuine.

I heard a rumor that Whitney was originally working on this song with Michael Jackson. That would’ve been epic too. I feel like this collaboration is so underrated!

I just cannot get over the fact that George Michael was H-O-T😎🔥, ESPECIALLY back in the day! He was ridiculously GORGEOUS and TALENTED! I regret not paying attention to anything about him and his musical craft back then. Not judging anyone, but I have to say that it was difficult for me to believe he was gay...because he looked too handsome and masculine to be one. After reading and hearing about him, he seemed like a decent man deep inside, aside from his good looks and genius as a musician. Not trying to idolize him or anyone, I am just expressing the fact that I regret not paying attention to anything about him and his musical career. He TRULY was ONE GREEK ADONIS WITH SOUL-A TALENTED SOUL BROTHA, WHO LIKE THE REST OF US, WAS A PLAIN HUMAN BEING WITH FLAWS. It's very sad to realize that he's no longer with us. The same is said for others who had departed. R.I.P. George Michael & Whitney Houston.🌷🌷
