In this video, we give this pair of practically new White's Boots a makeover. The owner wanted his pair of White's to have a different look. After taking the whole boot apart, we did the necessary adjustments, and this pair of White's Boots is ready to go. Time for another restoration!

Mate you did a fantastic job, but the customer is a moron, white have that special 4 way stitch techniques and nails and screw for durability, why didn't he wait then have them redone, and the cuban hell gets the chicks, the MP heel ones makes your boot invisible. I need a wedge sole nick to be turned into what he just destroyed. I am getting addicted to the big arch
This one left me scratching my head confused 🤔

Us too. 😁 The customer basically wanted a single stitch instead of the double row stitching (which meant a lot of work to make it look good), and he wanted a different style heel block.

Who knows, maybe he got them as returns for a huge discount, thus wasn’t able to customize them, and it was still cheaper to pay T&H to customize them like this than to buy a whole new sets of White’s boots. That must be what White’s calls their hand-stitched down construction offered only on select models. Cool video

Finally! For the first time ever on KZread someone has actually made the proper “rolled welt”!!! Congratulations on your professionalism. Every other whites resole video changes them to a simple stitchdown or changes them to a goodyear welt. (And they don’t actually mention this in their videos. Only sharp eyes notice.) Thank you again for showing and using the rolled welt/holdfast design that has worked so well for whites for such a long time. Well done!
them whites look well made from the tear down , worked for that one . very nice

I don't even get what the big change was, cuban heel to a normal one, was it necessary to restitch the whole lot?
It should be obvious that the elegance and humility of the son comes from our fathers. That being said, I encourage all to check out and subscribe to Norm's channel. As a combat veteran I believe we should support our Vet's and the older generation so we can bridge the gap of the devide. As for the boots, it was a matter of taste, style, and preference; which I agree the heel block and double stitching was too busy for the over all construction of the boot. Which is simply a matter of how you view your confidence in public. Thank you Norm for your sacrifice and service to this "Great Nation ", and for raising two outstanding gentlemen.
Beautiful craftsmanship as always. Great video, especially the heel stack process. Like others, I question the customer's sensibilities, but the craftsmanship is unquestionable!
White's have unique a way of doing their bottoms. It's basically stitchdown but with a welt around the top of the side uppers. I guess what the customer had in mind was an MP but he bought a Cruiser.
Really interesting to see how these were constructed. Amazing how many ways there are to put a sole on a boot. Great to meet your Dad and best of luck with his channel!
Thanks so, so, much for your dad's service. What a cool family of yours.👍
So he wanted them to look like Iron Rangers? So confused. Beautiful work men.

@@messmer777 Haha…we put it back EXACTLY the way Whites built it. We’ve been doing this a LONG time. The shape of the boot doesn’t move at all when all we’re doing is replacing the piece of leather that sat on top of the stitch down; therefore, a last is not needed. The owner who bought these got them off of eBay and wanted to change the look. Trust me, we have people sending us their stuff from around the world for a reason…and we’re not being pompous. We just know what we’re doing.
Great Dad, Great Cobbler Sons, Great Skills and Great Videos...Keep up your labor of love, guys. Shout out from NYC .
Shoe and boot construction techniques have always been interesting to me and you two really go out of your way to explain the different types or styles of construction. Much admiration for your expertise and knowledge!
Great to meet your dad! Really enjoyed his chat with Mr Freeman. Hats off to all the vets, like he and your Dad, for their service. 👍 And great work on the White's boots. Yes, would also prefer a standard vs a "logger/cuban" heel. But man, would love to afford a pair of White's boots in general! Oh well, I still dig my Beckmans. Happy weekend to all! See ya! 🤙🥾🤓
Very well done, guys! Looks great!
Mustangs make the best officers. Thank you for your service Sir. I look forward to your new venture.
Great to see that guys!!! That was AWESOME and Enjoyable! Honestly --- Finally to see a "construction" that matches my thought (or "closest" to!) focusing on comfort and durability. Now, of course, my thought probably only goes that far due to this channel (fact!). You guys have a gift and have turned it into success upon success, demanding as it may be! The educational factor alone is nearly priceless. I do appreciate what you guys continue to put out!!! Be Safe
Hi norm thank's for your service and thanks for these two great kids both are awesome !
Wow! I like the boots much more after the transformation. Gonna check out your dad's channel right now.👍
Great job guys!
That’s the way professionals do it!
Thank you Stormin for your service.
Thank you for your service.
SO much better. Nice job boys.
Love the subtle flair on the heels!
WOW!!! They truly look like a different pair of boots. The switch from double to single stitch as well as the different shape on the heel is a huge improvement!
Those boots turned out amazing love the work yinz do. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there.
Хорошая работа! Молодцы! Спасибо за комментарии!😊😊😊
The after boot looks better, than the original White boots and better than any you whites boots I have ever seen. I hope one day White boots can make boots for walking that looks this amazing!😊🥰
I've been hooked on your channel since the first episode I watched. Very instructional, very informative and very entertaining. The 105 year old lady's boot restoration was extremely interesting and one of my personal favorites. Keep up the good work and my best to your Dad. I was Air Force as well. Weapons controller on EC-121 AWACS out of McClellan AFB in Sacramento. and one tour in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War controlling air to air refueling and B-52 missions.
Its all in the details, the boots look much better now, nice job.
Thank you for your service, sir. God bless your new channel.
I think that was a big aesthetic improvement on those boots. I love stacked leather, and I don't like the look of logger heels. I like the thicker midsole too. I'm a sucker for thick leather soles. I love my double oak dress shoes.

But would you buy beefy robust logger boots just to turn them into dress shoes? I think that is what has people miffed. Why not buy decent boots and pay for an upgrade oppose to buying the wrong boots and paying for a downgrade? (Aesthetics not withstanding)
Thank you for your service, Norm!!
Nice! One of the better boot videos from you guys. Love it.
You guys are awesome I look forward to seeing you my redwings when they need work!
Great job as always guys. Not that I can afford Whites of Nicks boots but I have to say I really prefer the look of the straight block heel to the woodsman or cuban ones you often see in those brands. Its cool to hear your dad has a channel. I grew up on the stories of my grandpa "Storming" Norman who was in the Army Corps of Engineers during WWII.
Love Whites, my Dad wore them for most of his 101 years on this planet. Followed your Dad's channel.
Thanks for the video..the change wasn’t dramatic, but it certainly does change the overall look of a really well made boot. Cheers from a subscriber in Nova Scotia!
Thank your Dad for his service.
Great Job... Totally worth it...
This was a nice resole. I will definitely be checking out your Dad's channel.
This was a new take on your craft, the customisation of a new pair of boots interesting
That’s a great looking belt! Cool system there!
Old school channel welt/stitchdown hybrid. Nice. Great job. Must be nice working on some boots that are basically new and not half destroyed! I prefer the new look as well. Don't know that I would have ever purchased them as they were originally constructed though!
I like the new boot much better! Good job!
I bought some products from you guys a year ago and the shipping was quick. There was a small mistake in the order but a kind lady in customer service immediately rectified the situation. I’ll definitely buy boot care products from you again and I strongly recommend that viewers choose to buy from you guys.

maximum respect for dad. I salute you sir
The boots look alot better. Nice job guys.
Great watching real cobblers work. This job looked really labor intensive. Curious what the cost of an order like this runs? Thanks.
Your dad is AWESOME. Looking forward to his channel!
Great vid. Cheers Norm, from another Norm. Your two sons produce terrific, interesting videos. They certainly are masters as their craft. Take care!
We love an O that is prior E. The superior officer lol
I'd like to get my White's done like that. They used to be my go-to boots but they feel like the leather shank failed. I'd like a steel shank, and the heel angled forward just a bit, plus going to a single stitch. Nice work fellas!!
Crazy much BETTER the boots look after it was done. Vey minor changes but huge difference in looks, I think the client will be thrilled the first time he puts them on.
We appreciate your dads service 👍🇺🇸
It was tough to watch a brand new pair of boots getting torn apart for what seemed to be a very minor change.

Why not take a pair of Whites Smoke Jumpers and turn them into a Ferragamo style wingtip...:)

I have a pair of MPs. Thanks for showing the breakdown of how White’s makes their boots
Nice to see what good construction looks like. Impressive video, if for no other reason than to get a good education. 👍
Very interesting hybrid construction. Never seen that style. My eye fancies the new welt stitch line, the height of the new heel, but I like that logger heel shape more than the walking heel shape. Great lookin' boots, finely done remake. Whites are a great boot.

As a 20+ year Strategic Air Command Missileer and a retired E-8, I look forward to subscribing to the new channel!!!!!
I had a belt with that exact same ratchet system. Got it from a market stall in Italy over 12 years ago. Still works today.
I think they look a whole lot better
How often should I polish my shoes for everyday wear?

Oh come on guys! How do you do it? Even the tiniest detail looks amazingly upgraded! There isn't a video I didn't enjoy watching! You are just marvelous at what you do! 😃🙏💪🤠
I’m subscriber 391 to your dad’s new channel. It should be extremely interesting as I too went from enlisted to officer in the USAF. Thanks for introducing your dad and his new channel!
Great video. Going to follow your dad sound like a great channel
I prefer the new heels. Those original stitches look complicated. As always, great job again! And oh, subscribed to your Dad's channel.
You Dad looks in great health. 👍 🇬🇧
Anson belts are amazing I have 12 belt combinations for whatever occasion I need one for no more buying a belt for every occasion. Got my belt game covered just need to sort my dress shoes
Love the video. The squeaking sound of the leather being cut was like nails on a chalkboard lol.
Honestly, the heal stack and single stitch look WAY better than the factory
One suggestion, dont put the final product picture as thet humbnail. I love to be surprised by the end result

Very cool. What are you putting on the edge of the sole for the natural leather look?
When you do any of your gluing, do you let it dry completely before heating it with the heat gum or do you just let it get tacky? Thanks for your awesome videos!
I just subscribed to your dad's channel. I wish him well.
Brilliant make over ... Mothers Day? We've had that already in the UK. But I hope app the Mothers out there have a great day.
Nice to meet you, Norm! I'll check your channel out. Thanks Trenton and Heath, another great video! Do you have a new employee in the shop? There was a guy working on the leather press.
Wow, was that veldtschoen construction? 😍
I love the new heal, I dislike the old heal on any boot. Great video as always.
Are these welts similar to how Viberg channel stitches their boots and shoes? Interesting video, beautiful work and results.
Hey there fellas…. I’m pigeon toed and I end up rolling my boots and shoes pretty quickly… I’ve had hard stuff placed on the outside back edge… I’m wondering if you ever actually grind a 1/2” off the inside edge from the start so that the shoes stay flatter and roll over less?
Wonderful to see your Dad. My best regards to Colonel Potter. I'll be sure to check out his new channel -- I have a long-time interest in military history. Dr Peter Sudevan Wisconsin
Stoemin Cellor !! Military stuff !! I’m there!!
I like the new look way better .
Hey Trent and Heath! I love your vids! Perhaps for us newbs, could you guys add typed description layovers to each step. When he added the canvas layer to the ball of the foot area he mentioned using rubber cement instead of contact cement. Immediately after he then put on what I am assuming is contact cement? I think it would be cool for you to add descriptions to each step...
There was a hint of Rose Anvil in this video. 😉
Muy bien el rediseño, el anterior parece taco de mujer y el trabajo excelente
I would have loved them just the way they were, I'm kind of surprised.
White’s calls this construction method handsewn stitchdown. It’s pretty remarkable and takes some of the best aspects of handsewn welts with a holdfast and no canvas gemming with the benefits of being stitchdown as well.
