White Pass Railroad Train Ride in Skagway Alaska - NCL Bliss Alaskan Cruise Vlog

Everyone says you have to ride the train in Skagway… some of us were apprehensive about a 3+ hour train ride, so we made a deal for a half train and half bus excursion. But 30 minutes into the train ride, all were in agreement that it was amazing!! The White Pass Railroad was built during the gold rush to take miners from ground level in Skagway up through the mountains and into the Yukon where the gold was. During the ride, there is narration that tells the history of the building of the railroad and it’s purpose, but with an entertainment flair to keep it interesting. The views are breathtaking!! You can watch from the comfort of your seat through the windows or you can step out onto the platform for an unobstructed view. We could look down, straight down a cliff! And we even spotted a bear!! It was a ride to remember and we now agree with everyone else that it is a must do. It is pricey, but 100% worth the money!

Love this video!!! I went on the first cruise of last year and we were first train to go up. Snow everywhere and they had just pushed snow off tracks when we rode it. Did the VIP car and had a blast. Alaskan beer/ salmon/ leather recliners that swivel all the way around. Once in a lifetime trip and I will never forget it! Love your video!!

I live in the Appalachian Mountains in the southeast area of West Virginia. A few years ago I heard a racket outside the opened window of our dining room. I looked out and there was a bear right below our window! I hurried and got my phone to take some pictures. It wandered further away from our house so I was able to get some pictures then it went back into the woods. We have seen a bear in the woods up the hill from us when driving by. We have seen plenty of deer in our yard and neighborhood. I really enjoyed that train ride. Now to the next vlog when you do the bus ride down the mountain.

I took the bus to Fraser and train back with my mother-in-law. Encouraged my husband to take an Alaskan cruise to ride the White Pass and our port was changed. We cruised again and took the train up and back. Only 10 minutes into the train ride he totally understood my disappointment at the missed opportunity on the previous cruise. Thanks for letting me experience the train ride again. It is spectacular. We were there in May and saw snow at the Canadian boarder and on the mountain tops. Gorgeous!

But the train ride went by pretty fast, I sat on the left and the views were incredible, felt like you'd fall into the gorge. Caught a quick glimpse of a black bear.
