@@georgeabhayoic there is no such thing as Roman liturgy, only Latin liturgy. Syro Malankara Catholic Church is a particular church of The Catholic Church , aka Roman Catholic Church. So yeah, you are a Roman Catholic , your church leader is the Pope, who is the bishop of Rome.

@@crossmaster77 O dear.. how can I explain to you? Why should we be Roman at all? We follow the Syrian liturgy. We have been evangelized by St. Thomas the Apostle and we have a vibrant Christian Community from the first century onwards. We reunited with the "Roman Catholic Church" in 1930. Just accepting the primacy of the pope does not make anyone "Roman". We may be best called "Syrian Catholics of India". But in no official church document are we referred to as Roman Catholics. If we are Roman Catholics, then what do the Roman Catholics of western origin call themselves? The Catholic Church is the mother church. Roman Catholic Church is the particular church of the western catholicism. To call us Romans would be very inappropriate and should I say insulting because it does not recognize our individual culture and ethos. What makes us Roman? Do we follow the liturgy? No. The Roman Canon Law? No. Roman Theology? No. Roman system of ecclesial administration? No. Were we evangelized by Roman Catholic missionaries? No. Then why should we be Roman? We are Catholics because we chose to be. What makes us Roman? The fact that the Pope is Roman? Then in that logic, all Christians would be Jews because Jesus is a Jew!

Your comment is deeply disheartening and on the verge of arrogance provoked by ignorance. "You are Catholic, therefore, you are Roman. Period!" What! Bro, you didn't actually see the video rt? Or did you understand what he said? Just observe, in the video, Rev. Fr. never calls any other church as "Roman". See what he says in 0.09 mins. Your comment goes against the very spirit of the video and I see that the attempt of the video in educating its target group has failed miserably. From the video: "Even though the Roman Catholic Church does make up the vast majority of the people considered Catholic, about 1.2 billion people (99%), THERE ARE ABOUT 16 MILLION CATHOLICS IN THE WORLD WHO ARE NOT ROMAN!!!" (see 0.09-0.29). Your logic is like the guy who says to a black American, "O you are black! But wait, you are American? O then you cannot be black, you are definitely white then." What would we say to such a person? We might say, "O please grow up to acknowledge that there are Americans of colour." So also I say to you, "Please grow up to the fact that there are Catholics who are not Roman."

Gods will be done... Mary had no choice here. This is a false teaching which has led many astray from who God really is 2 Samuel 7:16 (1000 years before Christ) Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me your throne will be established forever. God stands on His promises Isaiah 14:24 The LORD Almighty has sworn, "Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will happen. Propechy(between 800-700 years before Jesus 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. They give praise and thanks to Mary for this Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols. We can see the Fathers work detailed in the genelogy of Matthew and luke Where He shows He kept His promise to King david( please look that's alot to put here) I understand this may be a hard thing to grasp. As people first say. Free will. As if God was a tyrant. Which is not the case. It was Gods will that Mary was created. Theres a difference between us. Who have no prophecy written. This was His craftsmanship This is where it gets heavy..... I wanna go further back to this. Exodus 7:3 But I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in Egypt, Exodus 9:12 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart and he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the LORD had said to Moses. Nothing can stop Gods will As was seen by King Herod Matthew 2:17 Then Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, became furious, and he sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had ascertained from the wise men. Then was fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Jeremiah: This is where Mary now has become a false idol To say that she had options is to also say She had the power to turn God into a liar. Which is simply not the case . God is creator of the universe. Truely And He made her One person says to me. Well he knew she was going to say yes.....again. He made her for this. This is not force of will. This was His will these things should happen. Collosians 1:16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-all things were created through him and for him. 2 Kings 2:16 As the enemy came down toward him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, "Strike this army with blindness." So he struck them with blindness, as Elisha had asked. The lesson of the Fig Tree Matthew 21:19 Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, "May you never bear fruit again!" Immediately the tree withered. Many lessons in that. But We see God is displaying His sovereignty over creation. This is why Christ taught us to pray for Gods will Because only His will can answer prayers. Because this is His creation He shows us this many times is we look Acts 9:7 The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone. 8 Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. 9 For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything. This is also profound. Because we dont like to think of it this way. Its uncomfortable. But this is who He Is. Roman's 9:9 For this was how the promise was stated: “At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son.” 10 Not only that, but Rebekah’s children were conceived at the same time by our father Isaac.11 Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad -in order that God’s purpose in election might stand: 12 not by works but by him who calls-she was told, “The older will serve the younger. 13 Just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” 14 What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! 15 For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” 16 It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. For Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” 18 Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden. 19 One of you will say to me: “Then why does God still blame us? For who is able to resist his will?” 20 But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it Roman's 1:25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen. Matthew 7:13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. As beautiful as a story it is that Mary said "yes" it drowns out the truth of Gods handiwork . And takes Glory from the Master Craftsman. Who is Our Elohim Luke 1:31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. This was not a question. The thief next to Jesus called on Jesus and was saved for all eternity Luke 23:34-44. Saint Paul was persecuting the believers who were predominantly all Jews who had called on Jesus to save them and had decided to follow Jesus forevermore. I believe the differences due to the origins of these rites and therefore some traditions. The Syro-Malabar Catholic Church uses the East Syriac Rite liturgy and The Syro-Malankara Catholic Church the West Syriac Rite liturgy. However both these rites are in full communion with Rome so both part of the Universal Catholic Church. But other than that I am not too sure, hope that helps this is just my understanding.

So, I used to take my children to Melkite liturgy each week, then we moved and it became a Maronite liturgy each week but now I am taking them to Roman Mass. It's been interesting to see the commonalities and the differences. It's remarkable to see how few Roman Catholics even know we're part of the family! Thank you, Father, for this video

Try reading the gospels directly and then the rest of the New Testament. You will have a better chance of coming close to God, of being spoken to by the Spirit of God and receiving the message of salvation by Christ's grace alone, than attending 100 years worth of religious masses and liturgies. Follow Christ, not somebody in a rope who is so religiously proud that he considers himself above Christ and above Christ's clear and simple instructions to his disciples. People at the top of the catholic religious empire follow power. Take the grass roots approach and follow Christ directly.

I was baptized Greek Orthodox. However, I moved from the U.S. to a Bahamian island with no Orthodox church or Eastern Rite Catholic church. My only choices were to attend one of the 4 Catholic churches or one of the many Protestant churches on the island. I wanted to join a Catholic parish so I obtained consent from my Greek Orthodox Bishop and the priest at the Catholic church to join a Catholic parish on the island. I moved back to the U.S. 3 years later and continue to attend Mass and Divine Liturgy. I observe Lent and Holy Week in both churches. I consider myself Catholic and Greek Orthodox. My Greek Orhodox priest and parishioners joke that I'm a double crosser. There is much to love about both religions and IMO the differences between religions are not so great that they cannot be resolved. I pray that reunification of the eastern and western churches will happen during my lifetime.

Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, etc. You all have one thing in common: the worship of Jesus as a god and the belief in the trinity concept. Jesus did not preach “Christianity” nor did he claim to be a god or son of Almighty God. This false belief was a later innovation introduced by the shady character called Paul and other shady people like him. Jesus was a practicing Jew who preached to Jews and not to Gentiles. He did not introduce a new religion to the Jews/Bani Israel.

The true church is not bound by organisational boundaries, it's spread all over. And frankly there are so many doctrinal issues that it cannot be the one true church. For exmple: all believers are priests, not merely the man in robes. Praying to saints and angels, using them as your mediator to God rather than Jesus, basically saying he isn't good enough. Saying Mary had no sin, if this was true she is God, but we know she was like every oth err human. Purgatory and being prayed out of it by others: makes no sense, if such was true then we would not evangelise we'd pray them out of death. They must make their decision. Anyone who wishes to push back please do, it's all in the pursuit of truth.

Everybody is different and different churches work for different people, yet what we share is far more significant. The body of Christ is diverse yet entirely complementary. It is wrong to say that one denomination is or religion is "correct" because that would mean that all humans were identical.

@@michaelc5732 Ok. Thank you for the explanation it actually does help quite a bit but I still have a problem with it. The purpose of the prayers then. Jesus is sufficient for our salvation. We don't need angels or Mary or anyone else for God to accept us. Only Jesus. My major problem is that prayer is a from of worship. By very defintion. And worse still Catholics seem to think Mary had no sin. Well that makes her God. In regards to the angels we should not pray to them either, because now we are trusting the angels for protection rather than going through our relationship with God. If you love your parents and you stuff up, do you send a sibling in get forgiven? No you go yourself. Please let me know your thoughts on this. Because as someone who is saved and does hear God speak, I cannot possibly imagine being far enough away from God that I need an angel to go to him rather than approaching himself. Also: it is true that we ask others to pray for us but this is not the same as we do not pray to these people (which is a form of veneration or worship which are synonyms) we speak to them here on the earth.

@@samuelbishop3316 Well, on the topic of salvation, we agree. Jesus is the *one* through which all salvation is achieved. On the topic of prayer to Mary, the angels and the saints: again, there is no worship of them. They are looked upon for what is called intercession. In the same prayers that you may assume as constitute worship, there are lines asking the called upon individual(s) to pray for the petitioner. Who are they being asked to pray to? God of course! Clearly they are not being put on the same level as the almighty, else these lines would not be included. Lastly, the term "prayer" seems to carry a bit of a different meaning to Protestants than it does in the Latin Church. To Protestants it seems that prayer is always a form of worship, while Catholics do not believe this to be the case, and believe that it is only considered a form of worship when praying directly to God. Sorry for the late response!

I'm Indian too but did not receive my faith frm saint Thomas the apostle as he had evangelised only in the south and I'm not south Indian. Not too sure abt it but I once heard that a wealthy Indian merchant needed an architect/carpenter to help build something for him in Cochin, India (used as a famous spice trade route in ancient times) and thats how Saint Thomas landed in India. Is that really true, anyone? Nyway, ours was once a portuguese colony. I suspect my ancestors received their faith directly from saint Francis Xavier who during his short periods of rest b4 undertaking his various sea journeys to different lands in the east was known to visit my ancestral place on foot ( which was not far from his residence) countless times in his free time. And hence I'm Roman Catholic. That term, Roman, alone makes us percieved to be foreigners and therefore second class citizens in every way. But that's a diff story. O how I wish the Portuguese had evangelised the whole land like they had done for Brazil instead of just pockets of area here and there...😢 The LAZIES!😡 I'm angry, so pardon my rambling.

No Catholic nor Protestant nor any other denomination will see the kingdom of God. Well if he has accepted his free gift of forgiveness and salvation and Paradise then he should share the good news like Mary did by calling on Jesus and declaring my soul magnifies the lord and my spirit rejoices in God my savior Luke 1:46.. So ask him has he received his free gift because you or I don’t know unless he announces it to the world as Jesus commanded us to do

@@seanrathmakedisciples1508 So your one of those people who demoralize religion and the church to its core while blatantly ignoring that catholics assembled the first bible in the first place. "Whom do you say that I am? Simon Peter answered and said: Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answering, said to him: Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona: because flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father Who is in Heaven. And I say to thee: Thou art Peter; and upon this Rock I will build My Church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it." (Matthew 16:16-18) JESUS GIVES HIS AUTHORITY TO THE APOSTLES "And Jesus coming, spoke to them, saying: All power is given to Me in Heaven and in earth. Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world." (Matthew 28:18-20) Can you learn to save your soul just by reading the Bible? No, because some of the things in the Bible can be misunderstood and because the Bible does not include everything that God taught."Understanding this first, that no prophecy of scripture is made by private interpretation." (2 Peter 1:20) "As also in all his [St. Paul's] epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are certain things hard to be understood, which the unlearned and unstable wrest [twist], as they do also the other scriptures, to their own destruction." (2 Peter 3:16) What did Jesus do to make sure that His teaching would never be misunderstood? He established a church."The house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth." (1 Timothy 3:15) When did Jesus establish His Church? Nearly two thousand years ago. How many churches did Jesus establish? Only one."Upon this Rock I will build My church." (Matthew 16:18) How long did Jesus plan His Church to last? Until the End of the World."I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world." (Matthew 28:20) How did Jesus establish His Church? By giving His authority to the Apostles to rule and to teach."Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:20) Did the people have to obey the Apostles? Yes, because they spoke with the authority of Jesus, and therefore, to disobey them would be a sin. Did the authority of the Apostles die with them? No, they handed down their authority to others, since Jesus instituted His Church to last until the end of the World. Some of the men who received authority from the Apostles: Matthias (Acts 1:22), Paul and Barnabas (Acts 13:2), Timothy, Silas, Sylvanus, Titus, Luke, Mark (Acts 17:14; 2 Corinthians 1:19; 2 Timothy 14:11) Which Church today has the same authority? The Catholic Church, because it is the only Church established by Jesus Christ. How do you know the Catholic Church is the only true church? History shows that it is the only church that can be traced back to Christ. Does everyone have to obey the Catholic Church? Name the founders of other leading Protestant churches. Name of churchFounderWhenWhereEpiscopalianKing Henry VIII1534EnglandPresbyterianJohn Knox1560ScotlandCongregationalistRobert Browne1583EnglandBaptistJohn Smith1600HollandMethodistJohn Wesley1739EnglandAdventistWilliam Miller1831New YorkChristian ScientistMary Baker Eddy1879Massachusetts PRACTICAL POINTS A non-Catholic who suspects that the Catholic Church is the one true Church of God and does not investigate Her claims with a mind to join if Her claims prove to be true, cannot be saved, because outside of Christ's Mystical Body (the Catholic Church), there is no salvation. I am now married into Syro Malabar Catholic church but attend the other two rites frequently too. I have always marvelled at the Unity and diversity of the Catholic church. I am very interested to know more about other liturgies of the rites outside India. I love my Catholic faith and the One, Holy , Catholic and Apostolic Church.

@Al Furqon ohh yeahh then lemme get this is to you.... Yes there is a logic behind everything.... And if there wasnt a logic there wouldn't be an existence cuz everything in this world is run by a logic...... Ofcourse but let me get this to u.. How did Muhammad who waas born in the 570 Ad has a profound validity abt the faith... And how tf did Jesus became muslim and how tf did Abraham became Muslim howw tf did even Adam become muslim.. Im not getting this tho.... Srslyy...is this sone sorta time travel... Idk man... Then talkin abt the trinity it is the representative forms tgrough which our God has been existed through out.... God yhe father of all creation.... Son is the word of God.. Cuz in the chapter of John it says the Word became flesh and lived among us.. Yes its Jesus the son of man..... And Holy spirit is God's spirit it is represented in islam and in torah too but none really cared...... Yes its not 1+1+1 cuz ur addition never existed at the first place.. And its all one...... And onlyy...and if it wasn't the truth how come all his disciples were even ready to die for something thats not even real.... How... If the trinity werent real how come they go die for somethin that is fake especially u saw somethin that is amazing and somethin very astounding and uk it is the truth and ik u will go any extent to say it out cuz what u saw wasnt something like a mirage it was 100 percentage real life....... And especially when a jew from Tarsus wjo persecuted Christians and suddenly from nowhere he sees Jesus and starts goin around the world to tell out truth abt what he has seen and expiernced..... And he was beheaded by the emperor nero and did nothin but writing letters and his stories abt what he has seen..... How abt that..... Logic is a thing that we see and expiernce if u really believe in logic where did heaven come from how can God communicates ppl or how angels come to earth without no space ship or anythin.....srsly sticking on to real logical identifications what we see never co relate something extraordinary and the trinity is something extraordinary and... It is the truth.. So bye.

I worship in the Anglican Communion. Our liturgy is virtually identical to the RC liturgy. We also acknowledge the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, and I know that the Pope has had great fellowship with Anglicans over his many years in ministry. We also believe in the catholic church...with a "little c". I understand the differences are relatively minor, so I pray one day we will be able to share Holy Communion together.

Ralph, I, as a former Catholic and an altar-boy want to tell you that the Roman Catholic system is a GROSS corruption of Christianity. In fact, it is a pagan, anti-Bible and therefore anti-God religion. For example, it accepts the theory of evolution (the so-called "theistic evolution"). Therefore it not only puts death BEFORE the first human SIN, but it also calls God a LIAR!!!!! For God said "IN SIX DAYS!!!" but the Roman "church" says "in millions of years". ???!!! (See Exodus 20:11.) Roman "church" is a blasphemous pagan system that has many "gods" (or demigods), the so-called "saints", who are supposedly (just like God) able to hear multiple prayers sent to them simultaneously from a whole multitude of believers. ????! And this is all closely related to that popular but FALSE (non-biblical) doctrine of the so-called "immortal soul". While the Bible teaches that the ONLY way that a dead believer can live AGAIN is when (or if) Jesus RESURRECTS him/her on the "last day"--at the return of Jesus. The "saints" are DEAD!!! All people that have died are DEAD. They no longer exist and therefore cannot speak, much less "appear" to us. Please read in the Bible Ecclesiastes 9:5. The Bible actually teaches that we ARE souls--NOT that we "have" immortal soul. That idea came from pagan sources, not from the Bible. According to the Bible, the WHOLE person is a "soul" or a "being". Yes, "soul" or a "being", or a "person" is one and the same thing. That is because the same Hebrew word NEPHESH is translated by a number of our words; the words such as: "being", "person", "individual", "man", "person", (a) "life" (a life-form) or a "soul". Please read Genesis 2:7 in the King James Bible and then compare the same text in other Bible translations. You can research this important topic using a Bible Concordance or research it on the Internet. And, by the way, "nephesh" simply means "a breathing body" or "something that breathes", or "a breathing being" (in other words, a being whose life is maintained and manifested by respiration). And the New Testament word for "soul"/being/life is a Greek word PSUCHE (some spell it "psyche"). Interestingly, the Bible also calls animals "souls" (nephesh/psuche). I'll add here just couple more things. For example, the worship (NO, not just "devotion" but worship) of "the blessed virgin Mary". Mary, the mother of Jesus, is a DEAD person--and is therefore totally unconscious and will be RESURRECTED at the "last day" when Jesus returns to resurrect His faithful dead and give them eternal life. The worship of Mary (who is supposedly "appearing" everywhere--which are demonic manifestations) is so prevalent in Catholicism. This is gross IDOLATRY and something so typically PAGAN! Furthermore, your "church" (and unfortunately many others) teaches the grossly BLASPHEMOUS doctrine of "eternal punishment" in the so-called "hell". Thus, they make God into a sadistic monster!!! What an abominable, BLASPHEMOUS and non-biblical doctrine!!! It has turned millions away from God. According to the Bible, the punishment for sin is DEATH, not "hell"! See Romans 6:23 for example, or read Ezekiel 18:23, 32 and 32, and think about it. God is LOVE (1. John 4:8), not a monster!!! WE are the unrighteous monsters--not God!!! But even we would not torture anyone FOREVER. I could go on and on and give you more anti-biblical and anti-God teachings of your "church", but I have to finish. Please, compare the teachings of the Bible with the teachings of the Roman system. Get the Bible and study the prophecies contained in the Old Testament book of the prophet Daniel and the New Testament book of Revelation. They thoroughly unmask the evil and blasphemous Roman "church". Get help on the Internet--but be careful, for not everything on the Net is true and biblical (yes, I know you know that, but ...). If you study and research the books of Daniel and Revelation, you will understand WHY the Roman hierarchy HATES these two books, and are therefore inserting the most ridiculous, most twisted, most shameless and most blasphemous commentaries about these two books in the Catholic Bibles (and elsewhere in Catholic literature). They are stating bold-faced LIES there --even DIRECT CONTRADICTIONS to what the actual Bible text says! Any reader can easily see that. Unbelievable! Simply mind-boggling!!! They have no scruples nor fear of God at all! None! I could go on and on, but I have to finish. Ralph, I know that you will no doubt have many questions (like: "What about that thief on the cross?" in Luke 23:43, and many others), but all those can be reasonably and rationally explained, and therefore harmonised with other relevant Bible texts. In the end, is it any wonder that our Heavenly Father is calling out: "Get out of her, my people!" (Revelation 18:4)? For, according to the Bible prophecies, "she" will NEVER repent and come back to God. Never! So says the Bible. And the time is running out. Just look what's happening in our world. The last days prophecies are being fulfilled. Wake up Ralph and all others who have been mesmerised by the Roman system and its ecumenical movement. May God help us and grant us His mercy.

There can be no better way for us Catholics to fully breathe from two lungs other than worshipping together and experience liturgical rites and spirituality that distinct from one another while universal in essence. For next video maybe the liturgy of St James because it is the oldest liturgy from the brother of our Lord.

@@snoopysnoopy8843 In the Bible, the word "pride" is only used in ONE WAY! There is no such thing as kinds of "PRIDE"! From the first time it is used in Leviticus 29:19, all the way through to 1 John 2:16, each one of the 45 times it is used, it is in a NEGATIVE way! Human pride is an afront to God. Jesus was never PROUD! The word "pride" is never used in a good, clean, and holy application. People who believe that they have a part in earning their salvation tend to feel PROUD of their religious accomplishments. And sadly, that is exactly what this poor little fellow is being raised to do, believe, and feel. "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." 1 John 2:16 "The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate." There is an entire generation of Catholic youth who sustained their Catholic faith in a very turbulent time because of the importance JP II placed on youth. Not unlike Pope Francis arrived to Shepard the world in a church which is contemporary and ancient in accordance with the needs of the people. When he chose to be the first Francis it was an electric bulletin to the universe. Suffer the little children unto me.
