Wow very ku to actually test different methods.. ive been making tinctures for a long time now and ive learned from trial and error over the years. Plus i do a lot of experimental work with cannabis. So ive learned from mistakes that experiments that most wouldnt try. Ive found that each method has theres up s and downs. And each method can cater to different purpose. Ex. If u are making tinctures for smoking or vaping u might not want to do a hot extract because the dark green chloriphyl is harsh and bad to smoke. So the freezer will defats and refines the contents more making it desirable for smoking /vaping. The stove top method i call Red Dragon. And tip of advise u can reflux the alcohol rather than heating with the lid off which will waste loose some solvent in the process. To reflux u just put the lid on the jar loosely with out tightening it. This allows minor amounts to breathe but it retains the majority of solvent and it evenly and fully extracts the contents with the rite amount of solvent that is.. So Red Dragon would be more for eating, drinking, baking or infusing edibles and using topically. Since the dark greens blackish part is actually nutritious and healthy to eat or consume. But not to smoke. So of course one of these methods is going to be more pure but less full spectrum.. and vise versa. So its hard to say which is better because that depends of what its used for. And tintcures have universal applications. Meaning u can eat it, drink it, smoke it on joints or blunts, vape it, bake it , infuse it, rubb it on aches or sores, the possibilities are ended lesss. Some suggest to even sniff it or shoot it. hhaa ha Which can probably be done. Whos knows ???? My point is its a universal product. So what i have discovered is to curve the balance beween the two into one unified solution .. This is what i call "Gold Dragon.. " To make it.. u take 1/2 Green Dragon infused vegetable glyserin 1/2 Red Dragon (infused V.G. ) Combined the two together. That makes Gold Dragon has the best of both worlds in it. I find this version to be better in all ways and now this version can be used in all ways. smoke, vape eatin, baking work s especially well plus no more butter products . And this is a good way to make thc Polar soluable. Meaning it can mix with water now. U can make thc water and drink anywhere and no one will kno. Super discrete. And edibles hit harder and faster when thc is water soluable and consumed. I ve had people reach pyshedelic highs from to much gold dragon. When the liver exceeds to much thc amounts it converts it to a psychdelic and pushes out through ur pores. This however is not a pleasure ful experience. It can b trauma tising for some...and those who can handle it . Will avoid getting to that state ever again. Its like having a seizure and hypertension at the same time. And its a huge mental struggle to fight off. Hurts my brain thinking about it . It think u shoul test the Gold Dragon Method i explained here? Oh and all the crude material thats left i leave soaking in alcohol x vegetable glyserin in a dark cool space on ground level and leave it for 3-5 yrs. Over the course of that time i will agitate it as well as keep on adding more herbs, buds, kief, hash , oils ,wax , etc what ever u have just add it . Also adding more glyserin and lil bit more of alcohol to help speed up the process or else ull have to wait 4ever for it to fuse on its own. Plus it might extract but wont infuse with vg because theres not even vg + water + alcohol to my crude base for it to become solute. so having extra liquids never hurts. After about 3- 5 yrs of doing this u ended up with some super deep dark dank . Which is super potent. But u have to wait yrs not weeks. And leaving it frozen or cold will not allow it to get more poten over time . Freezing is like locking it in place. I wouldnt expect potency to rise this way... ..but it was dope to see u test that theory anyways. If u tried the the methids i explained above id bet ull find those resulta astounding compared to the rest. Side note when making Generation oil . It takes years hences the name Generation oil. But the goal is to make an extraction. keep that. And the left overs u will keep adding to over the yrs. And pull more extractions from it over ther years .and collect all of them together after like 5yrs ull have oil thats beyond potent. I add this to some red dragon and get some super Gold dragon... The result of heated method red dragon x green dragon non heated method. And a fermented green dragon non heated. Flavor profile is full spectrum as well as the high.. ( If u grow i suggest using the entire plant . All of it gets extracted do not separete anything. Use the stems, root, leaves, buds. The entire thing. I know people have a habit of not doing this . But theres benfit from the total cannabinoids together plus theres theory that the root may have pychoactive properties . I belive this to b true . Thro my experience. Theres something special about it... Also using haze and/or hash plant varieties really kicks up the potency.) Well there u have it . ... Ive been keeping all this knowledge kind of a Secret. But people have always lovd the Gold Dragon taste is addicting like candy . Its better tasting than honey or sugar. And like i said its universal . Can be used in many ways ..u cant do that wi h a nug or hash etc. This is the only cannabis product that has unlimited applicability and uses. Truly amazing. .. peace love and lite! I appreciate this video ur work and findings. Much Gratitude and all thats well

The freezer method gives more mg of THC than the stove top method. At first after watching Part 1 and now Part 2, I thought that the best method was the stove top, but then I realized that the only reason that it is "more potent" is because it is just more concentrated from the stove top method than the freezer method. From what I can see from the final amount of liquid left from each process it looks like the freezer method produced close to 7 ounces of final product and the stove top produced about 3.5 ounces. Doing the math, I come up with 1775.9 mg of THC from the freezer method and 1466.15 mg THC from the stove top. That came from there being 29.5 ml/ounce of liquid and doing the math 29.5ml/ounce x 7 ounces x 8.6mg/ml of THC = 1775.9 mg THC. It seems that you lose more THC during the heating process on the stove and less from the freezer process. And if you wanted to make the freezer method "more potent", just leave it out with no top on until the alcohol evaporates to your desired mg/ml or just use it as is and use the correct volume in your recipes. Please check my thinking here, am I wrong?

Can’t be checking the match, but the principal makes perfect sense. This video isn’t showing a fair comparison without showing the volume left of each tincture or allowing the freezer method to naturally evaporate over the same period, once at an equal temperature.

The reason why the freezer method is not as strong is Bc it’s not as concentrated as the stove top method: the alcohol not only boiled off when you used the stove top, but you also evaporated more when the lid was off. If you did the same w the freezer method to evaporate some of the alcohol, it would be just as concentrated.

You have saved me a bunch of trial and error. I have a freezer method tincture that will have been in for twenty four hours by eight tonight. Now I know waiting any more will not yield significantly more extraction. I also now know, thanks to you that I can evaporate off some everclear for as little as another day to increase potency significantly. I intend to let it evaporate until reduced by half in order to get the potency way up and hopefully reduce the burning feeling of sublingual ingestion. Because of your excellently informative video I have decided to use the week or so to evaporate alcohol rather than waste the time in the freezer. Looking forward to trying the results. Thanks again. Best real educational information out there that I could find. Folks can take what was learned from you and modify techniques with confidence.

Just getting into edibles, love watching your videos. Thank you so much for your work. One question, From the 2 different tests you performed, it looked to me that the frozen test had a far greater volume compared to the stove top test and especially after the 24 hour test with the lid off. Alcohol evaporates and when frozen it does not evaporate, so wouldn't you be left with more product using the freeze method, therefore balancing out the volume.

Thank you for making such a great video! I have a question though; which method actually extracts more from the plant material? I'm not trying to stir up an argument with anyone, but I'm struggling understand. It seems to me like the freezer method may have extracted more thc from the plant. If you consider the varying amount of final tincture and how alcohol much has evaporated, the freezer method actually extracted more. Freezer method= 127mg/tbsp with about 7/8c tincture left Stovetop method= 210mg/tbsp with about 1/3c tincture left If you evaporate the freezer jar down to the same level, I believe your numbers would be around 330mg/tbsp. I think freezer method may have extracted around 50% more. Once again I'm not taking one side over another, just trying to make sure I understand the numbers.

Agreed, if she left the freezer tincture out and allowed the alcohol to evaporate off it, she would have a higher yield of potent tincture left.

Correct, but most use right out of the freezer so the test showed that is not the most potent method.

Twice the liquid, take twice as many drops, half the liquid, take half as many drops. You still have the same amount of THC in total.

I have done the freezer method and I still have 2 jars in the freezer for over 2 years….one strained the other not. My question to you is after reading all the comments can I take the jar that’s strained out of the freezer and let it sit on the counter for 24 hours and the other jar do the stove top method for 45 minutes then let it sit on the counter for 24 hours? Thanks

How about leaving the top off of the freezer method one for 24 hrs to see if that increases the potency more significantly??? I really want this freezer method to work better. I am trying to reduce as much time over a hot stove as possible 😂😂😂

Would like to try NOW the stove top method to reduce the Alchohol. What time n temp SAFELY is the Procedure. 🤙💯👋

You get 1775.9 mg of THC from the freezer method and only 1466.15 mg of THC from the stove top. I showed how I figured that for the freezer method but I forgot to show you the math showing the stove top equation from the comment below. Its final volume looks to be 3.5 ounces of liquid, so 29.5ml/ounce x 3.5 ounces x 14.2 mg/ml THC = 1466.15 mg THC. I'm thinking about going with the freezer method. Am I wrong here?

I did the hot method and loved it easy and fast. I always did the cold method (24hours) than the hot method (boil) wonder if it's any better or just a waste of time🤔
