This series makes herbal medicine so much more approachable. Just having a simple point to start learning has really cut down the information overload.

yezz!! i'm so overwhelmed right now!
I’ve been looking for quite some time for a very knowledgeable straight to the point herbalist on KZread and I feel like I have found it. Thank you so much for these videos. I’ve learned a lot just with this one video so so far I’m looking forward to see what else you have.
This us exactly what i was looking for, a witch making herbal preparations, respect for nature, and a really nice aesthetic. I love your mjolnir necklace too
I love love love how you gave alternatives to alcohol as I am trying to learn now, so I can use herbs and food as medicine when I have children. Thank you!
Your videos lower blood pressure! So relaxing and healing!
Love this series, Annie! Would love to see the herbal oils video next. I've been making them lately and would love to see your take on the subject. There's so much out there to learn!
Don't know if anyone has posted this, but here goes. If your tincture is for a topical ( like yarrow for repelling bus like mosquitos 90% isopropyl alchohol is good as well & you can muddle fresh herbs with a wodden mudler much like annie's tool if you're in a hurry. Also if you "can" them syrups are great for kids herbals. good crafting everyone! Thanks Annie!
I would love a video about how you utilize these remedies in general and how you decide which ones you make. I find it hard to decide which ones to make, while the plants are in their harvest stage without knowing if you'll need this specific remedy. An example: About half a year ago I made a plantain salve because I thought it would be handy to have around. I haven't had a wound or a burn or anything so far, which is nice, obviously. But I also haven't been able to use the salve for its intended purpose and I don't want it to go to waste. On the other hand, I didn't forage any nettles in spring because I don't struggle with unirany tract infections or anything like it. But recently somebody I know had a problem with a kidney stone where a nettle tincture would've come in handy.

Maybe a video about dosing would be cool, could be about several different kinds of handmade medicines. Loooooove this series.
I’d love to see some sort of herb spotlight videos! If that feels up your alley it’d be really cool to learn about what makes your favorite herbs so amazing or useful!
I honestly feel like I've learnt more abut herbal medincine making in your two videos than in numerous books, websites, mini series etc read over the years. I've been teaching myself herbalism slowly for several years now (this year I've been really making a conscious effort to buckle down and really study this craft) and what I've found is most resources with tell you the hows of medicine making, but not the whys, and I feel like the whys are so important to the understanding of medicine making, so thank you, Annabel, for gifting us with your knowledge, I hope I can use this knowledge and pay it forward someday 🙏💚🌼🍀
I love making elixirs by adding honey (herbal infused or plain) to my tinctures. Syrups next, please!
Hi- baby herbalist here (currently taking classes to become a clinical herbalist) and your page has been SUCH a blessing to me and my learning. I watch your videos in my spare time to help with lessons I have just learned and your content is so digestible and easy to follow!!! Just wanted to stop by and say, "THANK YOU" :)
I’ve heard of using a weight, even a clean stone, to keep light/floating material below the surface for fermentation. I suspect that would work well here, too, especially because alcohol is a poor solvent of minerals.

I bet one of the glass weights that people use for fermenting pickles would work!

Good tip!
This was inspiring, thank you for taking the time to make this video.
Glycerites are yummy, great for children. Lemon balm glycerite is delicious. Used them when my children were little, it was how I got them to take immune boosting herbs. Love using vodka for tincture like Annie.
Thank you so much for this!!!! I was just about to start trying to make my first tincture based on Cunningham's instructions in Incense, Oil & Brews. He mentions using dry herbs only so I didn't think you could use fresh herbs but, it's great to know you can. He also suggests using a small bit of glycerin or castor oil to stabilize the fragrance in the alcohol but, it appears that step isn't necessary. Also, I didn't realize you could make a tincture of glycerin alone. Since I bought some maybe I'll try it to see how it turns out.

Please share your knowledge once you've tried it, it would be so helpful to hear your experiences!
I'm always so eager to watch your videos as soon as they come out but I've been trying to watch when I have time to fully write down the information for this series. Thank you so much, I've seen tinctures in the witchcraft community but never thought to use them for magic, using them as medicine makes much more sense.
I recently enrolled myself to chestnut school of herbal medicine and I’m so excited! I’m looking forward to learning! My goal this year to connect with nature! Thank you for you videos, blessed be! I’m learning all of this now in chestnut school! You are such a good teacher! Thank you for sharing
Hi Annie! Thank you for this. LOVE tinctures! And I would love to see both oils AND syrups at some point so...whichever works for you next! I am really enjoying the empowerment of these "How to's" lately, so thank you for this!
Thank you for this excellent video! Your teaching style is so calm, confident, and encouraging. Just what I needed to keep me on my herbal journey. Also, love your apartment:)

I love tinctures. Great job on presenting on them.
Lots of useful information here. Have made copious notes! Thank you for sharing.
I just love listening to these at work and coming up with some crafty, witchy ideas for medicines and food, also decorations with intention, which I must admit are my favorites 🥰
Thank You ❤️❣️❤️ I’m new to makings tinctures so this was helpful. I am also interested in making oils 💞
Omg the video I've been waiting for! Thank you!!! Off to watch. :)

This was great, thanks again. I do have a question. I tinctured peppermint and some of the leaves had a white tinge to them, which I am assuming was powdery mildew or possibly some kind of mold. I thoroughly rinsed the leaves, but it didn't come off and the white dots are now in the liquid. Do you think I can strain and use or should I reject the entire batch and start anew? The plant keeps getting the white on the leaves so it is difficult to avoid. Would the 100 proof alcohol possibly kill any mold that is there and make it safe to use?
Wow so much knowledge ! How old were you when you first became interested in this topic? It seems very complicated . Did it come naturally to you or did you have to do a lot of deep study?, so fascinating ……🤓🤓🤓
Thanks Annie, very informative!
Thank you Annie for all your work in creating this content, I’m enjoying this series. I have a few channels I like to visit for a sense of calm in my life and yours is one of them. Thank you for sharing yourself, it means a lot with all that’s happening now.

I love this thank you
Love the hand movements.
Okay, I’m loving this series and learning so much. I greatly appreciate you doing this and can’t wait to continue watching.
Thank you for the information!
I love making glycerites. It is excellent for adding to topical creams or salves. I make a lot of body lotions with glycerites and herbs steeped in oils. Your hair, skin and scalp will love the steeped oils.
A great video. Thank you
Thank you so much!💜
Thank you for this video. I'm starting my path with herbs, herbal medicine and also starting my journey with the Craft. I find your videos very inspiring and I'm thankful for your wisdom and your guidance.
very well done video, thank you for sharing
Thank you so much, Annie. This is fantastic and so detailed. I can’t wait to try this. Another Amazing video
Love that you’re sharing about herbal medicine! Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🤍✨
Hi! I just wanted to say that I love your videos! They always help me! ❤️😍
Loved this video 💚
Thank you, tinctures are ... were intimidating. Thanks for the video
Absolutely love this channel! I will be starting some tinctures soon. Hope this finds you doing well!
I have been making tinctures for about 15 years, some are 1 drop tinctures meaning very strong tinctures, some much friendlier tinctures dosing not so serious. I do them by memory not by weight and always use vodka and always fresh plant matter. It's a beautiful feeling to let nature heal you .
I just found your channel, and have to say I am so excited to binge watch all of your content as I embark on my journey to becoming a herbalist!! 🥰🥰
Perfect timing! I'm about to start making some dried herbs from my garden into tinctures. Will be my first time doing it!
Ansiosa de ver el video. Cariños 😘💕
Packed with useful info and very inspiring. Thank you. 💚 Excited to make my first Valerian/Skullcap tincture.
Thank you! I have made in-depth notes! You explain things in an easy way to comprehend and it's very appreciated!
I would love to learn about the oils. I am a bit of a beginner and just taking my time about herbs and such. Thank you so much for sharing advice and teaching us all how you to have learned how to craft on your own journey.
Thank you so much for these videos. They are very helpful and educative. I feel a lot more inclined to start experimenting with herbal medicine 🍃
Thanks for the vid, Annie! Really informative. I'd love to see a vid on oils! ❤
Very interesting!! Would have loved to also know how you use these tinctures (do you take them pure, if so, how much? Do you add them to beverages? Etc.)
Very informative! Thank you, I have not made a tincture as of yet. Now I need to look into tinctures and their uses. Thanks again!
Thank you
I love this video! I have been crafting salves with herbs for a long time and have been studying the medicinal properties of herbs for decades, but have not delved into tinctures yet because it seemed so complicated. You helped demystify it a bit. I am one of your Patreon people and plan to upgrade to watch your harthcraft workshop. Thanks again! ❤️ u!
Lovely video, you are a great teacher. I would love a video on syrups. Blessings
Thank you! Such a beautiful video! The higher alcohol content the the more toxic making tinctures can be…40% to 50% is best. Your menstrum is very important when making tincture…plants such as mallow, mullein is when you use 50% alcohol due to the the plants mucilage properties… other than that 40% is safe and very effective! Also I prefer to set my tinctures in a sunny window until decant time…sun infusing your tincture adds so much more benefits, there’s really no reason to hide your tinctures in the dark? I been practicing herbalism for 12+ years and the wisdom is priceless, there’s always something to learn when making herbal tinctures.

Fajne zastosowanie ziół można znaleźć w pozycjach Kneippa (moje leczenie wodą wbrew pozorom nie tylko o wodzie), włącznie z obrazkami, jak co wygląda. Książka ma ponad 100 lat, zioła aktualne do dzisiaj :) THANKS FROM POLAND
Ty I am currently building book for my own use
Beautiful, thank you! I didn't think about vinegars for a tincture solvent. It's fun getting to know which herbs work better with which solvent, glycerites, hydrasols, so much to learn. ❤
I just started this module in the CS lesson plan and this is such a great review! ☺️

Thank you for answering my question about alcohol. I'd be interested in syrups for upcoming videos.
Just found the Channel and Subscribed 😀
I would love to watch a video of you telling about what herbs/flowers in tinctures would be best for what when made for medicine. I'm starting out and learning.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I'm interested in learning anything, so both, both is good ;D
I never knew what a this was, now I do 😊
Cool 😀
I highly recommend the book Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine for this subject as well :) it covers literally everything you could ever need
Thank you for the videos. You are so helpful. Keep up the good work, please. Is there a four thieves' tincture or anything you could do a video on?

I am so happy you're doing videos about this stuff. I've been getting into it for 2 years now. How long did how long do the vinegar and glycerin tinctures last? I made a Calendula glycerin one in early Spring. I've been keeping it in a cabinet. Should I keep it in the fridge? Thank you again.
So happy I come across you channel 🤍 I live in the New Zealand, the usnea tincture I have going at the moment is a beautiful orange 🤷♀️ did I not let it dry long enough??
Do you have a tincture that you will always make/always have on hand?

If I could only have one tincture for the rest of time, I'de definitely choose angelica (archangelica) tincture, because it is sooo potent and hast such a wide range of use.

Thank you for the reminder to go shake my tinctures. 🙃
Question please. Making tinctures with alcohol for longer shelf life. What’s best though for making tinctures that children can take? Thanks!
Totally randomly I made a pine needle tincture several weeks ago. I didn't know I was making a tincture, I was just trying to make some at home cleaning supplies. Any recommendations on how I should use it to clean my house? New moon tomorrow!
Thank you, this was awesome. Do you have any books you would recommend for herbal crafting?
Annie, Would white wine vinegar be ok as a option when creating a tincature ? I would use cheese cloth for the straining process
When u do good.. lots of problem, bad thing comes to you.. anyway be positive.. strong Take care of yourself
Thank you again for such an amazing video, Annie. I plan to refer back to this video when I’m ready to start crafting tinctures. I’m interested in oil recipes as well. I love this series and I’m so thankful for it. I did want to ask, what was that green sponge herb?

Hi! Thanks for this video. I'm making Blue Turmeric tincture and I followed 1:5 because I harvested and dehydrated the Turmeric first, so I'm working with dried herb. Now, I left it 12 weeks and it's soooo strong! Should I dilute it at this stage? add more alcohol? I'm also following "Strictly Medicinal" advice and added 75% Organic Vodka and 25% distilled water ( as the menstruum ) . I'm told some Turmeric constituents are best extracted with a bit of distilled water. What do you think of that? and would you say is the dose? I nornally would say 10-25 drops and yet I'm confused because I left it longer and it's strong.
I have a question. I'm currently taking Rosemary Gladstar's Herbal Apprentice program. And we are taught to put the tincture on a window seal and shake everyday and once decanted then put in a dark cabinet? What do you think the difference in opinion is? Love all your videos!
I have everclear. Would that be a good choice for tincture
just crafted my first four thieves Vinegar would u share more herbal vinegars
I wonder, what was the green stringy herb that you were pushing down with the wooden stick please?
An herbal oils video would be wonderful.
Hi, may I please ask where you got your spear pendant from? 😍
