I love the Ilha sweater and I’m familiar with Orlane because I knit her Bonnie cardigan at Christmas. Hi Bobbi, you are delight to watch, even the silly outtakes 😜 I am knitting the roscoff for my granddaughter. She lives in Hawaii and I don't have much of an opportunity to give her knitware. I am using yama linen merino. The pattern is written rather than chartered which is unfortunate. If you make a mistake it is hard to read the knitting, whereas if also chartered you could see where you stitches should align. I plan to make a winter ILHA, thanks for the inspiration.

    @@knitterskniche I had a feeling you weren't a native... the lack of Alabama accent gave it away lol! We moved here a month before the quarantine shutdowns began so its like we're still brand new to the area. However, I did discover a great yarn shop in Northern Huntsville called Fiber Artwork, the owner, Nina, is very nice and they have a great selection of yarn. You might already know about it since you've been here longer, but I figured I'd pass it along just in case. I'm going to check out the Sandes Garn Line cotton you mentioned next time I head up to Nashville. I haven't found many cotton yarns that I like and am always searching. Anyhow, I hope you stay safe with all this crazy weather we're having. 😊

    Hi Bobbie, I’m not sure if you are aware, but I thought I would mention it just in case you haven’t heard of this. A few knitting podcasters share that instead of using Spincycle they use Zauberball yarn which has long color changes and different spun yarn twisted together like Spincycle. Now I’m not sure about what weight(s) they have, but I’m going to look into that also, down the road here shortly. I’m going to have to knit the Ilha first. I like the look of it better and the additional touch at the hemline to tie things together.

Well, previously the pictures I had seen were with the wide neck, billowy long sleeves and about 6" of positive ease. Just not my style. But yours is perfect. Now I realize there is a lot of room to play and customize this pattern...I have to try it. Also, on a fun note, I live near Seattle,WA, but my daughter lives in Madison, AL. Hello! Oh my goodness! It is a small world. Madison, Alabama is a beautiful, fast growing city. Seattle, Washington is an amazing city. I visited there over 20 years ago. I loved it so much. I know what you mean, the Ranunculus pattern photos do not do it justice. I went down a needle size and knit a size 3 and I think it turned out pretty good. Thank you my friend for watching my channel and for taking the time to post this lovely comment. Here is a GREAT tutorial for knitting the Ranunculus kzread.info/head/PLdm0UsJRGj9Z1FPuwVSpoPAuf1l8ZDGbf&si=HcKNBQ0T_sodC4GH Take care, Bobbi😊❤️

    Do any of them have a similar gauge to ranunculus? I want to try a new yoke pattern with same fit as the rest of the ranunculus. Would love to hear your recommendation for that. Or even just a different lace or texture pattern for just the diamond lace on the ranunculus would help mix it up for me. This is my 3rd one so wanting something a little different, but I already have the body knit & just want to re-do the yoke & graft together

  • @knitterskniche

    @knitterskniche

    Ай бұрын

    Hello! Since the Ranunculus can be knit in several different gauges, I don’t know which lace pattern would work. For instance if you replace the diamond lace pattern in the Ranunculus pattern with another lace pattern with the same stitch count it should work. You’ll need to also space the lacework evenly across the stitches on your needle. I’ve never changed a pattern’s lacework before. Sounds intriguing! Sorry I couldn’t be of more help. Thank you for watching my videos and for commenting! ❤️😊

    Hello! I know, the last 3 episodes I recorded ended up being a little longer than I intended. Lol. The Sandnes Garn Line is a worsted weight yarn in a cotton blend. No wool! It’s absolutely the best cotton blend yarn I have ever knit with and it’s reasonably priced. Since the Sandnes Gar Line is a worsted I would definitely recommend it for winter! I just saw your podcast for the first time a few weeks ago. I’m from New Jersey but was down in Nashville for a wedding and went to Haus of Yarn and bought my yarn for the Ilha. I’ve finished the yoke, but don’t understand the sleeve part. Do I cut the yarn, slip the 40 stitches, put in the markers and then continue in the round knitting the stitches that I had put on the right hand needle?

  • @knitterskniche

    Hello. I’m looking at the Ilha pattern. Could you tell me what part of the pattern you are referring to? Are you ready to start the raglan shaping? 😊

  • @path9570

    @path9570

    10 ай бұрын

    Yes, I’m starting the raglan shaping and it says break the yarn and put 40 stitches on your right hand needle and continue putting your markers for the sleeves. I understand that. However when you get back to the 40 stitches that you slipped onto the right needle, do you just pick them up and knit normally? I couldn’t understand why you cut the yarn and moved those 40;stitches.

  • @knitterskniche

    @knitterskniche

    10 ай бұрын

    Ok. I think you are knitting the smallest size. Yes, you need to cut the yarn, because you are changing where the beginning of round is. This will put the beginning of round at the middle of the armpit. Slip the first 40 stitches from the left needle to the right needle. Place the beginning of round marker on right needle. Add new yarn by knitting the next 37 stitches, place another marker. The rest of the markers need to be a different color than the beginning of round marker. Follow the rest of the directions for that round. 😊
