A double blind study on different times of the year by comparing tasting notes would be fascinating and different times of year they were picked.

I enjoy Autumn Harvest Teas just as much as Spring Harvest. The tea plant undergoes so many changes throughout the year, and I love tasting the fruition of that transformation just as much as I enjoy the lively vibrancy of spring tea. For me, experiencing the shifts through the seasons through tea is as close as I'll get to being able to travel to Japan, China, or India. It might sound a little odd, but for me it's as though I can experience the seasons changes through tea picked at different times of the year. I'm someone who loves Autumn, it's the closest I can get to experiencing it in these locations. Anyone with me on this?

Flash frozen, vacuum packed tea, which is of course later brought to room temperature before the vacuum is broken, might be the best option for a direct comparison. Would really like to see if that would have made a difference!

That's funny. I just received an order of a bunch of autumn/spring versions of the same oolongs to do the same thing.

If you wanted to do a direct comparison, couldn't you vacuum seal a sample from spring and then be able to try it and the autumn side by side?

I prefer Winter Taiwan Oolongs. I thought thru the whole video Don had the teas mixed up. Autumn is usually a darker liquor

This has me wondering how the results of this comparison might differ at a different time of year when the spring version is younger than the fall version, instead of the other way around. Could the age/freshness of the tea be a big factor here? Hmm.

@@connormatthews522 Iron Goddess of Mercy or Tieguanyin in Chinese, from a reputable tea store like Mei Leaf, Tea Source, or Jesse's Teahouse is a great starting place. That's the first oolong I tried that I liked. But there are darker roasted oolongs that are really good as well like Tao of Tieguanyin and Da Hong Pao oolong. Read the descriptions of some nice rolled oolongs and see what you might like. But Tieguanyin is the classic oolong.

Would there be a significant difference in caffeine content between a spring or autumn TGY?
