    It has sadly come to the point where if you are on the internet you have no choice but to leave a footprint somewhere. All I can say is just be careful with what you do, I understand the concern of Google and Microsoft's data collection. I would say if you want a decent amount of privacy, brave search is a good place to start. Other than that, your choices will be slim. Some search engines just use AI to help and the AI also fetches sources for you. Google is a reliable source because of all the data people have dumped into it, it is what it is. Use the right tool for the right job!

    Startpage are owned by System1 a targeted advertisement company. It is assumed that they bought the search engine in order to harvest data from users. Selling your data aside. Google has become so focused on selling you stuff and making your searches around buying something and finding stuff local, it has become a problem in jus finding stuff in general. The sad part is many of the current search engines are built on Google, so the direction Google goes, they all inherit Googles trend >< The others that aren't built up as Google or don't have as many sites using it's search bots/links/tags, well they are just less useful in another way.

    I miss the tutorial style videos. It would be a good video idea to make a tutorial about the new ways of going about searching for info instead of "googling" it up. A tutorial about all those new A.I. engines that are full of potential and not being used by many out there cause they don't know their capabilities.

  • @ChrisTitusTech

    @ChrisTitusTech

    7 ай бұрын

    Yeah, the main channel was generally where I put all those. KZread is a tricky thing as only a certain type of tutorial will perform well. Most of KZread is now all story driven when it comes to views. You will see topics like "you won't believe..." or dumb stuff like that because people click on it. The search side of things is still very tutorial based. Starting a new channel, you can just create a big library of things for people to search. However, as the channel grows, the creator is almost forced into the story driven style content. This is because they are graded on how many subscribers are clicking the new videos they produce. So making a niche tutorial that doesn't appeal to the entire audience can cause KZread to stop recommending the channel. I created this channel just for live stream content. I consider it lazy content, but it tends to perform well as it is questions from people in chat that many are curious to the answer. After doing KZread for 5 years, I can say I understand the platform to a high level. I wrote all this out so you can understand the average life span of a channel and why you see creators move content, create channels, and often get frustrated when they don't understand what you see above. I've done about 6 channels over that period of time and delete a few after seeing some of the effects over time. I love making all the different types of content and will probably end up doing a book or more traditional tutorials in a new way soon. It just needs to be deliberate, and I can't just toss up 5 tutorial videos in a week anymore... unless I make a new channel lol.

    @ChrisTitusTech I get your point, and it's also understandable why click bait titles and story content do better. Honestly, I feel that most successful content creators, like you eluded to, end up deviating from their original content and converge on what brings in the views. Monetary gains aside, content creator need to be rewarded for the effort and time they put into videos so they will prioritise content that gets views. Anyhow, you have my gratitude for creating content, value and entertainment for me and many others.

I'm an first year IT college student, and I want to run Windows and Linux at the same time on my pretty powerful laptop.
