Great way of framing the practicality of assessments by narrowing down which ones are relevant to the client. Saves them time and money, and makes you a more confident and competent trainer while leaving a good first impression. Thanks!

So you've done all these assessments. Now are they useful? After a few months of training, a client is going to know if they feel better or not. A person doesn't need data to know that exercise is improving their life. I would argue that these kind of numerical assessments are actually detrimental, but it focuses people on these external measures of health. A better approach is for people to focus internally on how they feel.

What about when they need proof of the progress that they are making when the number on the scale hasn’t changed like the originally thought it would? I love the idea of feeling better but do this training thing long enough and you’ll know people aren’t great at recognizing their progress - it’s our job to help them see it. So focus on feeling great, I love it! But turn it into a weekly rating scale of how they’re feeling so they can see the change over time.
