Really well done. Fantastic tone, fantastic playing. You really do these proper justice and milk everything a rock and roller would do with them (though I have a feeling that you're capable of quite a few styles!) I love the 'dry Marshall' tone you dialed in. I got a 60's Standard 6/19. Before that, I looked for a new Les Paul for 20 years and finally settled for PRS Singlecuts, but they never scratched my itch. Since the Les Paul purchase, I've added an SG '61 Standard and a Les Paul DC Special. Love them all - though the new SG needed fretwork done (dead spots) which kind of disappointed me, but my tech will get it right in no time. Thanks for a great vid!

Really good video! I bought the 2020 standard 50s in tobacco burst. I play with the pick guard off, as I like the look. I got it at the beginning of lockdown, and it’s 3am, and I am still playing. I don’t want to wake the house up, so I play unplugged at night, doing scales and riffs. I have other LPs and this is my favorite, as it has specs like a custom shop, and I think it’s better. Thanks again for the time. Steve

Beyond happy with my 60’s standard. I play both clean and high gain. Now my clean isn’t completely a true clean because I have a Marshall dsl20cr so it’s a clean gain. But you can turn the gain down, volume up, use your guitars knobs to get the desired tone, then between my drive and compressor pedals I can boost the volume. I know it’s a lot to get desired tones but you have a ton of range. Also once you switch over to channel 2 it’s absolutely glorious. Gives all the old school rock tones you desire. I love the 50’s especially for the fatter tone. But it doesn’t fit my playing style and I prefer Grover tuners and a thinner neck profile.

Killer playing and demo! In the old days (mid '90's), the "Classic" model had ugly greenish fret markers, super high output uncovered 498/490 pickups, and a '1960' engraved on the pickguard. It was the only way to get a slim taper neck though.

Splendid watchable and informative video with superb playing. My own choice would be the Classic - I though the extra sounds were splendid. Plus I prefer a plain-topped Les Paul, strange man that I am ...

Excellent comparison video, the Classic for me although I would rather have a series/parallel than that Bridge specific pot.

You rocked that 60s standard man!! If that wasn't your favorite guitar of the bunch you could of fooled me...

I’m currently in the market for a Les Paul Standard and I really appreciate this video. With the difficulty involved in putting your hands on higher-end guitars right now to personally evaluate, it’s helpful having a skilled presenter talk about the variation in features. One quick question for point of clarification. Is the neck on the Slash model the same as the Les Paul Standard 50s model? Thank you for the very helpful video!

That 50s Standard, from 11:00 to 12:00 awesome crunchy airy tone, almost got some fender bite & angryness ...great guitar, definately 50s Standard

I've got a 60s as I prefer the slim taper. I consistently find it to be a very sweet and round tone. I've got a '61 SG RI that also has the 61r/t pickups. I guess I'm just an unabashed fan of those pickups - though I know I would be more than happy with the BB 1&2s. I've got BB 2&3s in another Les Paul. Like them a lot, but prefer the 61R&Ts for their sweetness and complexity. Got a great deal on a blem Classic (which consisted of few scratches that I easily polished off). I LOVE it! It's become my workhorse LP. I grab it 4 to 1 over my others because there's just something about its presence and punch. Funny thing about the weight relief - can't notice any difference than my 60s, though my other LP is definitely heavier.

I purchased a 60's unburst. Searched Sweetwater site until i found an amazing top! Also just got the new Slash goldtop, also have an amazing 2017 CS Slash Anaconda. The Seymour Duncan's Alnico pro's just blow away the "Slashbuckers "...hands down. Only reason i got the new Slash goldtop is because the head administrator of the Fender/Les Paul forum has more disposable income that he just reviews 70% of what he purchases then sells them. Got that goldtop for 2,000 with an hour of playing on it and pro setup. No tax and still smelled new! Weighs 10.5 pounds though. Jack is a skilled player!😁👍🤘

I heard the riff which I instantly recognised, then spent half an hour trying to rack my brain to think what track it was, then I eventually had to go through the comments so thank you, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to sleep, still trying to think where it came from 👍
