I have fallen in love with fiddle leaf fig plants. I didn’t think I would be able to grow them; but the challenge is not as great as I expected.. all of your figs are beautiful; I hope be able to find a variegated one soon..

I have a small FLF and added it to LECA when you did yours, but my bigger one is still in potting mix because I was waiting for your experiment and results - Thank you.

I have not used the long method with transitioning any of my plants from soil to leca. I have found buying a healthy plant and putting it straight into Leca works best. The healthier the plant the better it will grow. It might be a shock to some plants. Others it may be a relief, especially when it has been potted up in some horrible soil mixes.

Best thing I ever did changing to Leca for the FLF. My dying plant is now thriving. When I repot her I did use a mix of Leca and MAB Grow just because it's a thirsty plant and I find they enjoy a mix of both. So looking forward to successful end result

That is good to know. I never got into MAB grow at all. Not sure why

I threw mine straight into volcanic rocks (vulkastrat). It was one of my first to transition. It took a long time, but it's growing new leaves after nearly a year. It was as big as yours. but I cut most of the bottom leaves off since then. The rason I used vulkastrat is because it's much heavier than leca, and keeps bigger plants in place so they don't flip over.

I have my fiddle leaf fig in a cactus mix and I’m so scared to move it since they are so picky. Most of my other plants are in leca and pon.

Hi! Have you ever had to split two fiddle leaf figs from each other? I have two decent size FLFs, one at work and one here at home. Both of them have a little conjoined twin unable to reach full potential in the shadow of the bigger twin. 🤣 Do you have a method yourself, or maybe a recommendation for the best way to separate the two plants without killing either one? I find it very rewarding to watch the fiddle leaf figs/ficuses grow and would love to grow the two little ones into large plants, like the one you just featured in this video. Mine aren't there yet, but heading in the right direction. Both in soil, currently, btw. Cheers from Mobile, Alabama, USA - Glenn

I know exactly what you mean. Mine were probably smaller than your so easily to untangle. Good luck with yours.

sometimes the transfer process is very scary.....its like, why change things when they are working??? You can only take a leap of faith & make the change. Worst case scenario? You buy another plant and try again.....still.....it can be very sad.

Hi Leca Queen. My anthurium luxurians x radicans has a big root system. If I transfer this plant to the leca method, the plant will be triggered to make water roots. What will happen to its old roots? And.....IF the soil root itself makes water roots, it will take the water in. But will the soil roots be able to take that water in?
