Today I checked the refurbished section on Apple's site again and it now had the 7th gen iPad from 2019 w/ 128gb for $279 - this is NOT WORTH IT, it has the A10 chip and for $50 more you get the newest iPad 9 with the A13. Plus it's brand new. Just wanted to add that here, and as always that $329 iPad is by and far the best value iPad.

Im still rocking my iPad 7th gen 128GB from 2019, great tablet but if you have it I don’t really think its worth the upgrade to the 9th gen if you already have it. That is if you are looking to get it, don’t and just get the 9th gen

Do you think getting the 6th generation iPad from 2018 for $200 is worth it
If you don’t mind an old design, the iPad 9 is more than powerful enough for most people. I personally use my iPad 9 as a work iPad for video editing. It can handle 1080p 60fps footage with absolutely no problem. Even when using color grading, stabilization, overlays, etc. Great video as always!
Here is my opinion: Either go big and treat yourself and get the Pro or get the basic entry level iPad. Or maybe get the Mini if you want a small device. I myself don't think the minor few upsites of the Air don't justify the price.

I think the air is actually worth it dough, for those who want a bigger screen and a new design. This is pretty good, especially if your doing trade in. You can probably get 256 gb for maybe 599 , trade in? Or using education discounting. Now the mini 6 price is ridiculous. Here’s why , 799 for a 8 inch iPad is outrageous, I could simply just buy the air 4 for a few bucks more with a much bigger screen. I love the mini but the price for 256 gb isn’t it. Maybe if 128 gb was 499. I would suggest it.

I would say the mini because it’s the most portable and comfortable overall it’s the perfect size iPad. The 9 has the ugly old design it’s ok for people who hardly use a iPad or gets shared around the home that’s it
Just bought the new iPad mini. I love it so much
my ipad is a green 4th gen ipad air 64gb bought it yesterday and absolutely love it
I use a 2018 11” iPad Pro and I love it. Aside from the iPad 9, the 2018 iPad Pro is the best value in my opinion. Compared to the iPad Air, the 2018 Pro gets a better display, better speakers, and you save $100 to $150 compared to the iPad Air equivalents to storage. I got my iPad Pro with 256 GB for $599 which is the same price as the iPad Air with 64 GB. Unless if you really want Touch ID and prioritize longevity, no one should get the iPad Air right now, especially since it’s likely to be upgraded sometime early next year.
I got the Air 4, it’s amazing! Everything I ever wanted in an iPad!
I love my iPad 9th gen, it’s so fast and it works for everything I want it to do, sure I would like to know what’s like to use a 12.9 inch iPad Pro M1 but hey, my current iPad works so I really don’t need an upgrade.
I just bought an iPad 9 and I’m pretty excited for when it comes in. I’ve been using an old iPad that’s running on iOS 9, and… to say that barely even works anymore would be accurate. As much as I love the idea of the extra bells and whistles added in things like the iPad Pro, it’s like you said…. For most people it’s just overkill. I’m excited for when I can go pick it up from the store, and I’m glad I watched this video since it gave me an idea on what I was getting myself into.
I am actually watching this video on my iPad 9. It works great and was a great choice. Keep up the good work Josh!!
Got the 11inch pro for graphic design work. Been loving it so far. Definitely agree that the ipad or the air (for that sexy pencil) are for most people. The pro and mini are for more niche customers. If your into gaming i’d snag the mini. My first iPad was a second gen mini and it was the perfect size for most games.
I needed this video
Watching this on my 12.9 4th Gen. iPad Pro. I bought this honestly, without doing any research or comparisons. I love it tho! I use it at work for light task on MS Word, Excel and Outlook. I also game and browse the internet and converted all of my paperwork to all digital. Was looking for a laptop at 1st but this just seemed more fun, and I liked the design. When they introduced the Magic keyboard I snagged it right away, very functional. Long story short, I have no regrets. If you have the money, go for it!
I would love to see you doing such a ranking with the Apple Watch!Greetings from Germany!
I think the basic iPad having 64gb makes it a better deal for me than 32gb in the older version. I might get one for $329.
Im using an iPad 9th gen now.. just got it and i absolutely love it 😍 great value indeed ! 👍
I recommend watching Amazon for iPad sales too. I picked up a new iPad Air 4 in blue for like 100 dollars less than Apple’s website. That’s what I have been using for KZread, video chatting, and typing (with magic keyboard) for most of this year. I occasionally draw with the pencil as well.
Great video as always!
Using a iPad mini 6 cellular. I had an iPad Pro. Always found out it was too big. Perfect complement to any additional uses which needs more screen space than a iPhone.

Hi there! Did you get the 64gb or 256gb mini? I'm in the market and bouncing between these two options
I got the budget iPad and I totally agree with your opening statement the budget Ipad is an excellent choice if you are using the iPad as an utility device. I use mine to run iMPC drum loops and remotely control media apps for (ATEM, ProPresenter and PTZ cams)
I'm getting the iPad mini 6 soon, I love the iPad mini and now even more with the new design.
Nice video, I'm using the iPad 6th gen right now and it performs really well 😀👍
I have the iPad Pro (11-inch, M1, 2021) and I love it! Very unnecessary, but I’m no stranger to getting the best of the best considering I upgrade iPads every 4-6 years. My previous model was the iPad Pro (12.9-inch, late 2015) so I was definitely due for an upgrade.
Tbh I’d get the mini. Great specs, smaller more pocketable design, it’ll do what I need it to do, the perfect ipad for me
I just bought the 11 inch iPad Pro with the M1… Did I need it? No… But I sure do love the thing! No matter what I throw at it, it just blazes right through
I ended up getting a used iPad Pro 10.5 inch (2017) with 256GB and an Apple Pencil and I am very happy with it!
I actually just recently got the iPad 9th generation & am absolutely loving it & no regrets!
the Apple Pencil 1 includes an adapter to charge it with a standard lightning cable. it CAN charge through the ipad’s port, but that isn’t the intended charging method
I just ordered the iPad 9th gen a week ago from Amazon. Says it will be here in December. It'll be my first iPad. I was using a budget samsung tablet before, but it's too slow for me now. I agree it's absolutely the best value for people like me who just want to use it for watching youtube or playing games.
I use an iPad 8 for some note taking, and content consumption. Couldn't ask for better value tbh
I’m using the 8th gen iPad and I love it. Use it everyday.
I got my iPad Air 4th generation on sale at Walmart for $539 before tax. Amazing experience and was a steal.
Typing this comment with a 7th gen iPad bought nearly 2 years ago. It’s still great and I love the old classic design, it’s so iconic ! Though I definitely wouldn’t recommend buying it anymore given the amazing value of the iPad 9.
I sprung for the iPad Pro 12.9 M1 2021, I originally bought the air but the lacking screen quality plus the M1 chip made me return it and spend the few hundred more, probably overkill but it’s a fantastic device I use the hell out of it daily , I also use it for design projects for my company which is extremely smooth
Great report that holds up even after 8 months. Thanks. I'm thinking on getting the standard Ipad. I simply want a quality viewing experience streaming exercise progams, movies and KZread videos when I'm using my treadmill. In my mind there is really no competion against it at the $330 price point. Thanks again.
I got a Mini 5 for $299 at Best Buy when they were getting ready for the Mini 6. It does everything I need it to do, and a whole lot more. My Mini is set up as a mini-laptop, and I use it to edit video and write notes while on trips. I have a mini 2 that I use on a regular basis for the same reasons as the mini 6, but while traveling in more tablet risky environments. Better to break a $50 tablet than a $300 one. Oddly enough, the Mini 2 does all I need it to as well, just a lot slower. For video editing and serious writing I have my wife’s old IPad Air 2 with 128 gigs of memory. It has a slightly cracked screen, so she replaced it with an IPad 7 a couple of years ago. I have it hooked up to a 27 inch monitor and a Bluetooth keyboard mouse combo. It works very well, but I am planning on replacing it with an IPad 10 IF it includes a USB port. Otherwise I will continue to use the Air 2 until it dies off completely.
I am not quite sure which pad to buy. I am considering both the iPad 9 and the iPad mini as it will mostly be for steaming and media consumption. I agree that the iPad 9 is a great for what you get at that price. However, the reason I am considering the iPad min 6 i is because the very first iPad I ever got was a mini. I know how convenient. portable and fun a device of that size is to use therefor I am not sure what to do. Anyway, great video as usual !
That's exactly what I waited for. I searched for exactly this vid for a few months now, but couldn't find it, turns out you didn't made one yet. The more you know!

I think for basic studies the 9th Gen is more then enough, probably getting myself one after Christmas
Excellent 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Just bought a Apple certified refurbished 12.9 2018 model a few weeks ago. I love it, coming from an OG iPad 2, 16gb! While I could have bought a brand new one, this specific model is the last 12.9’’ that has no PWM flicker (same reason I’m rocking a SE2020 256gb). I intend to use both devices legit until their motherboards break down and replacements no longer exist😂💯
I am currently using the ipad pro 11 2018 and i am still loving it. I have it since early 2020 and it is still super fast and feels great with the 120hz display. The battery is great. I would seriously recommend it to everyone who is looking for a cheaper iPad Pro because of the ProMotion display. It is really worth it!

I have the purple iPad mini and I’m loving it!
I'm thinking about the mini, however the budget iPad is good but the old design is keeping me form recommending it. If apple does redesign it and finally able to use the pencil magnetically then we have a deal
for student worker whom didn't need the full power of the ipad pro i would recommanded get the ipad Air 4 like mine. tbh for me i didn't care the 120hz display or faceID during mask mandate. Air4 is the best for me. around A14 Chip along with modern look support for Apple Pencil and Great battery life i Can't stress enough on how great the battery for me. Highly Recommanded Air4
I have ordered 9th gen iPad few days ago
i love how the mini and the air swapped in the thumbnail
I am using the 9th gen iPad! I love it so much its amazing
I've never owned an iPad but am looking into buying my first one soon. I am unsure which would be the best fit. I would love to get into digital art and use the iPad for art plus the color options in the Air makes that one stand out. But is it worth spending a couple hundred more on that versus the regular iPad? Would a regular 9th generation iPad still give me great options for drawing as well as a comfortable typing experience if I attach a keyboard to it?
I have the iPad Air 4 had it since April I am very happy with my purchase
1:15 And home button
Be great if you could do a 2023 version of this.
i am currently using a m1 ipad pro i bought it because i dont want to upgrade for a long time and this should last me a while!
Can you do an updated version
I own an iPad Air 4 and it gave me the best experience possible on an iPad, I’m buying my mom an iPad 9th gen for Christmas hope she enjoys 😄
I’m looking to buy the mini. It’s small, supports Apple Pencil II, cheap, 5G and the brand new A15 bionic chip does put a big smile on my face. Tho I won’t buy until university (for free AirPods).

would you recommend a refurbished pro 2018 vs the 2020 ipad air?
I can't believe that the ipad pro 2018 is the same as a ipad air4
I'm looking into buying a used ipad pro which year should I buy ipad pro 2018 or 2020?
I would love to see a Mac buying guide too!

Love your channel 91 tech because iPad Air 4 generation still work faster 2021
I was using an iPad Pro 9.7inch (128GB) since 2018 and recently i switched the the iPad air 4. The iPad Air 4 dies way to fast, 64GB isn't enough, and i feel like the camera is worse. I'm switching back to my old pro actually because it does the same thing the new one does. Yeah the new iPad has usb c and its faster, but my old iPad does everything I need so back to the 2016 ipad pro 9.7
I love my IPad Air 4. Almost had it a year now
Hey josh, been loving the videos lately. I do have a question though, in the thumbnail why did you downsize the air so it looks like the mini and upscale decor the mini so it looks like the air? I know it’s small but it bothers me a little. Still a gray vid tho

I'm thinking of buying the mini 5 because it's a lot cheaper than the mini 6 and I like the old design (I'm mainly going to use it as a content consumption device and to take notes, so why wouldn't I want a headphone jack?!? I don't even use wireless headphones) but I prefer the mini size.

I don't think so. The home button will probably still be there for a couple more years. As far as I know, all of the gestures still work as if there was no home button. It's just there for touch ID and for people that prefer using it over the gestures.
I got the 2018 11 inch iPad Pro refurbished in 2020. Last year I bought the iPad mini 6. These two iPads will last me for years to come.
I'm using an iPad 7 128gb stil, bought new. Now kind of wish I'd just sheilled out for an Air or 11" Pro at the time (2019) or at least a 2018 refurbished Pro. Now I WANT to upgrade, but can't justify the cost right now, even for refurbished. I wouldn't be doing anything different on a new iPad, and the old one is still capable for what i use it for. Decided to try a different screen protector for the iPad 7, instead. My next Apple upgrade needs to be my Macbook Pro, anyway.
i currently have an ipad 6, but i broke touch id after repairing it and the home button feels weird, so i plain to upgrade to the 8 or 9th gen
I just wish the base iPad wasn’t so big. I prefer smaller sizes, which is why I’ve always gone with the mini.
I have an iPad Pro 11” 2020
2020 iPad Pro 12.9. I love it but I wish I waited for 2021 version
i basically use my ipad for edtiing sketching and gaming and watching videos and other consumption on my ipad
Next year i want to upgrade my IPAD 8th gen but not sure what is best all i mainly do is play some games and watch tv and movies when i work my night shift so what would you recommend is the best for me i was thinking IPAD PRO 11" 128GB.

I think the air is the best choice. 9th gen is amazing but can be small to some people. The pro in my opinion is nice , but it seems like overkill. I wouldn’t pay 1k for an iPad. When I can simply buy a MacBook for 899 that can do more. I Only suggest the pro if you do some sort of heavy designing, a serious artist or you just love big screens
I’m using the iPad ninth generation
Still got iPad 2018 version
I use my 6th Gen. Model A1954 iPad all the time I have a Model A2200 7th that I’m gonna give to my adult daughter since I think she can do notes with the pencil ( I didn’t use either). I thought about upgrading , what’s the difference in my 6th generation modal A1954 and the newest cheaper model. I normally watch you tube videos, and. Movies and stream races and Netflix so I’d like to know should I upgrade and go with cheapest or do I need more. I don’t like minis, and don’t think I want big. I do have over 4500 photos ( how should I back them up?
i have an 8th gen and it is perfect for me. i make videos, photo edits, everything on it and for 300 dollars every few years to replace it? pretty good deal
I'm using an iPad air 4th gen green 256gb cellular
But why was the minimum bigger the the air in the thumbnail
Can i ask if anyone found the non laminated display on the 9th gen ipad to be distracting/ detrimental to the note taking apple pencil experience? I foresee alot of notetaking but i am also on a budget as a uni student. Is the writing experience for the Air 4 much better to warren purchasing it over the cheaper ipad 9th gen? If anyone has similar experiences, pls share your tots :)
When do you think there will be an iPad with an OLED screen? I mostly use my iPad 6th gen. in the evening in bed to watch videos and movies and even with reduced white point reduction, the LCD backlight iis just anoying. I just love how dark i can make my iPhone 13 mini spare my eyes.
