Which Intake Makes The Most Power? 2022 Subaru WRX Intake Shootout!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
We head to the dyno to test which cold air intake make the most horsepower! We test the AEM/Perrin/ETS systems to find out the pros and cons of each intake. To make sure we give the most accurate findings we test the stock tune vs the pro-tune results as well. Watch to find out which one is right for you!

Pro tip: Research your mods, purchase as many as you can, and then tune. If you buy your intake, tune, and then a couple months later get a new turbo back, tune, and then a few months later you get a top mount, tune, you had to pay for 3 tunes or more. That adds up fast. It is best to bundle all mods into one. It saves money and time.

i waited two years and did my research before i modded my 18 wrx and did all the bolt ons and the tune at a shop in a weekend. very good advice. that being said the VA's are much more expensive than the VB's are to mod. an intake alone makes just about the power mine did with much more parts on 93.

Great video guys! What this video shows is how badass VBs are 😎
Loved this! I’m moving onto power mods after doing some aesthetic ones. Really want more acceleration and power for my daily driver 22 wrx sport tech. Was going to get ETS intake this has persuaded me to get AME

@@christopher-gardner the rumble is still there, the rumble comes from Un equal length headers which are actually a big reason why the ej was unreliable. Unequal length headers create negative pressure in cylinder 4 which in turn causes ringland and head gasket issues. The FA20 and FA24 have equal length headers which create equal flow of games which gives you better performance and reliability. If you want the rumble on a FA block your a UELH away from it.

GREAT test!! Pleas can you put the Mishimoto through the same test. They are a legit contender and aesthetically their product looks great but we need to make an informed choice when buying these parts and you can help us with that!! Thanks so much for all your work on the new VB platform.
When Graham talks I listen. Always great info from you guys vids!
Could you do a similar video with all the exhaust systems that you offer? I know the differences would most likely be minimal in terms of power but it would be nice to help decide what cat back to purchase.
Great video.
Very cool video!
Thanks for this illustrative video! I have a question, if I understood well, when I want only to increase power but don't do any tunning stage, is the option the Perrin Intake? Thanks a lot for your time :D

Awesome and very interesting video. Sadly it seems the torque curve isn't as flat compared to stock, I wonder how dramatic that would feel when driving the car?
AEM seems to be the way for me in the furture, just a catback for now we'll see if i can get to the end of the warrenty before i go with the AEM and a tune.

Suggestion for a follow-up video. Lots of people want to remove the carbon trap and use a high flow pannel drop in filter in place of the OEM filter. Could you do a similar test for that OEM+ intake? I do not want to tune my car and I'd like to see actual data showing that this OEM+ mod won't lean out the AFM and be dangerous for the engine.
I've had mine 23 WRX for about 3 weeks now. I think I'll wait before getting an Intake system.
If you want to be safe with intakes, follow the Perrin structions. And if you want to go fast put some corn on the Cobb 😂
What were the boost numbers you were getting from each?
If you install an intake, do you/should you have it tuned?
Do you think if you had the Perrin Charge Pipe it would have made more power in the dyno??
What size wheels and offset are on that car? Tire size also ?
So stock tune AEM or Perrin? For the moment I just want to do an intake.
What would you guys consider a good strong safe afr for the 2022 Wrx?
Would you guys do a top mount inter cooler comparison, or is it not really worth it?
ETS stage 3 package is the way to go if u plan on getting a pro tune. U looking to spend 1k or more for your pro tune, Make your dyno day worth every penny . ETS FMIC, ETS Intake, ETS exhaust, coobs access port. Additional J pipe.
Is a breakdown of the numbers available?
I don’t know about this generation but my 2014 WOULD NOT boost with a Cobb intake til I got a tune. So I guess the answer is whose got the better tune.
Any chance you can dyno a stock tune with ets and sleeve?
Will the jb4 work good with an ets intake?
Where is this Boosted Performance dyno shop?
I’m confused, you talk about open loop, but then you talk about adjusting the MAF to not “lean on the corrections” does the FA24 have full time closed loop? There were several contradictory things said in this video.

You would have to spend big money on a stand alone ECU to tune for a catless downpipe which is technically only for off road use aka race cars (North America). You would otherwise be driving in limp mode. Cobb and EcuTek can no longer shut off check engine codes that relate to factory emission devices. This change happened in April 2022 for Cobb and April 2023 for Ecutek. These include Catalytic converters, TGV's and air pump among the most popular items. Most high flow cats are throwing check engine lights now and the ones that do work are expensive and even then, still hit and miss.
