The first couple of times I caught the blue Sand Crabs , I threw them away. I kept on catching them, so I decided to cook a couple. My goodness, I was blown away as to the quality and taste of the Blue crab, it was awesome, so I did not throw any more back. NT. Gulf of Carpentaria, Vanderlin Island. 2011.

@@BrisVegasFishing This trip was a great learning experience for me, with so many firsts. It was so awesome looking at the land from the sea as I sailed along. My GPS Log showed 1,200 kms at the end.

Love eating Sandies but Muddies are fun to try and catch up the Bribie passage 😊

when i was young id say the claws of the muddies were the go, but these days the sandies are my go to. They are much sweeter and much better value for your buck

I agree with you. Sandies are sweeter, but more fiddly to clean. Muddies definitely more fun to catch!

Glad you enjoyed it mate 🤙 I got those pots from Charltons, they’re a 1000mm crab’n’gear pot. So you can find them from another stockist. Good size though.

Both good but my preference is sandies.

Great video mate! Very cool seeing all those crabs walking in the shallows. I agree with you - muddies are definitely good for the amount of meat you get. But sandies are so sweet 🤤👌 I definitely wouldn’t say no to either of them though 😉

You call them Sandies, in WA we call them Blue Manners and way better eating than muddies and get this, way better than Crayfish!

I know lots of people like the taste of sandies and find them sweeter, but to me nothing beats the juicy claw of a muddy fresh off the boil

@@BrisVegasFishing Sweet iv never tried down that far for crabs . normally stick to the logan for crabs and cruse down the pin to fish . might bring a few pots down next run oh love the vids btw mate
