I'd rather the first appearance of the Hulk. Great topic

It's all about rarity for me. I'd much rather have a Golden age Superman/Batman with only 200+ on the census as opposed to a silver age key that has thousands of copies on the census.

Ya I’d definitely go with Hulk 1. I’m a marvel guy too, and hulk is one of my favorite characters

I think much of the price drops are starting to level off so I say its a safe time to buy a major key but for this case, the book's condition will depend on my answer. If Hulk #1 is in terrible shape, then I'm easily picking Superman. My reasons: 1. More of a DC Guy, especially Superman. I collect what I love. 2. Superman's Book is older and far tougher to find. I don't see 2021 prices happening again for a long time. There will always be another chance to score a Hulk #1. The best book in my collection is a copy of Walt Disney's Comics and Stories but its an issue from 1942 and its in a cgc 9.8. Its not a major key or iconic cover but as a Donald Duck Fan, having something that old and in such good condition makes it such a unique treasure to me. 16 more years and that book will be 100 years old.

Personally, I would put the $15k towards a Goldenage book like Marvel Mystery Comics 4. Otherwise, put it towards an AF15 if I had to go Silverage. Great question Laurence

No doubt 100% Hulk 1. The folks wanting those old golden age goodies are fewer and fewer. If you want to die with it, then get what you want.

I would pick the hulk and the first appearance more times than not. To say you own the very first book that a character was ever featured on is more meaningful to me.

A big piece is it depends on where the market is. If you asked me 3 years ago, I would have said golden age, which is exactly where I focused, while silver age prices were out of control. But right now, that dynamic has flipped, so at this moment, I would recommend jumping on silver and bronze, while prices are down.

1st appearance is the key. Good mention on some golden not moving up in price because it is a golden age comic. Thank you for your content.

I would go for however many high grade golden age batman related books with attractive covers. And got my eye on three already that would cost close to $15K to buy them all. 🎉

Golden Age Batman…would be thrilled to pick up a Low to Medium grade Batman or any major DC villain from the early days

I'm a Marvel Silver age as well... so Hulk 1 all the way!

X-Men #1 1963 in a 4.5 to 5.0 range. It would inspire me to finish an entire run. I have some silver age and bronze age books in my collection.

Hi, Laurence. Interesting question. I stayed away from silver-age books from 2020 through 2023 because they were too hot. I was buying golden age during that time. Now, I think silver is more reasonably priced. I'm slowly trying to acquire the top 10 silver-age books to add a little diversity to my collection :-). Great video as always, my friend.

I would take a Hulk 1 as well. As funny as it sounds, if I had $15,000 to spend, I'd buy a high grade Fantastic Four 3 (1961).

Hulk 1 all day everyday, as Superman 2 isn’t a major key. Hulk 1 is and a major first appearance.

For my personal it would be Hulk but I don’t think Hulk will ever hold the level of popularity as Superman…plus the ages of the book…

i would buy the superman 2 mainly because on the cgc census their are 2000 hulk 1s and 200 superman 2s, I care more about rarity than key significance

Personally, I'd pick up Fantastic Four #1 for $15,000. It's the beginning of the Marvel Age.

There are three grills that I’ve always wanted and do not believe I will ever get, Captain America #1 amazing fantasy #15, and incredible Hulk. #1. for me this is a no-brainer. I would go for that incredible Hulk. The captain America will be over 100 K. and amazing fantasy 15 is also all over the place in prices that I might be able to get one at a .5 but I would want something a little nicer. Thus I would 100% go after that incredible Hulk.

For $15,000 I would definitely get Superman #2. I already own a CGC 3.0 Hulk #1. 😂

Go Golden age, Silver age Marvel is too volatile

As long as I am working I have a decent amount of free cash coming in, and so I face this question all the time. So far I have gone with EC books and some other pre-code books, just because I like them. However, I now would like to buy more superhero books, and I find myself focusing more on golden age superman, batman and wonder woman, mostly because I like DC more than marvel. The bottom line is I think it comes down to whether you are a DC fan or a marvel fan. DC also has some decent silver age books that I am eyeing as well!

Hulk 1 100%. First appearance and a low population book. Hulk was my favorite character as a kid and I spent a summer working to save $100 to buy one in VG grade (this was the mid 1970s). When it came time to buy it I literally could not find one. I ended up buying a AF 15 instead. Hulk 1 is rarer than most people think.

It’s so interesting, I’m thinking that I would prefer the three keys over one that are more diverse. Chamber of chills are very cool ec books. Hulk 1 is awesome but I personally would AF15 but your question on these specifically, happy with either as key books but I am against the grain here clearly but picking the trio

Me personally. The Hulk1. But it all depends on your collection. Superman 2 are super rare and not many for sale but the market doesn’t move on these. There is no marker to compare against. &15k is still somewhat in reach. Sort of. Personally I’d get Captain America 1 if it was affordable. 😮

For $15k, pick up an AF 15 (prolly 1.5-2) - it’s a no-brainer - definite pass on the hulk.

Incredible Hulk 1 all day long. I love gold age Batman, but extremely hard to find an out of my price range.

I just bought a Detective Comics 58 1st appearance of Oswald Cobblepot aka PENGUIN so I guess that answers that questions 😂 But in all actuality I’ve been selling most of my collection for golden age keys and classic covers. Mostly out of the increased thrill of finding, bidding and buying more rare books. How many Hulk1s are for sale right now at this moment? It becomes less of a question of the money but more of the chase.

Hulk 1 TOS 39 JIM 83 are all books I would happily buy with 15k

I'd buy Fantastic Four 48, 49, and 50 all in CGC 8.0.

And to be honest, those silver age marvel keys continue to get crushed. A Hulk 1 CGC 3.0 sold for a bit over 10k, so although some of those golden age books aren’t having great leaps and bounds, there is some stability from a financial perspective.

In this case, give me the Hulk. If I was going to lay out big money for a Silver Age key for my PC it would probably be a high grade Showcase 22.

I would get Hulk 1….i wish Disney and Marc ruffalo wouldn’t do hulk anymore. They make him so weak and soy eating. I like the tough angry hulk 😅

There is no right or wrong in this question, what you buy is what you feel is important. Some say Af 15 some say Hulk 1 some would even argue and grab first Riddler or Batman 20 first Batmobile.. Collect where you see there’s value.

I am going to sell off all my comics but one short box that I really care about and maybe have enough cash from it to get a TMNT#2 second print cause I don't wanna come out of pocket for it and then I am done buying comics for this year and then next year go after a Hulk#181,X-Men#1, Amazing Fantasy#15 and Batman#1 then I am done collecting comics unless I find keys in the wild cheap.

The video is a year old and I know you're have picked up some more books since then but I will check the video out.

I would rather have a first appearance, or a top of the census book for 15k. Personally, I would go for AF15 before the Hulk 1.
