Consider this... 'UConn did not have a scholarship available to give next year until Aliyah Edwards declared for the draft (yep - look it up). With that announcement, they now have an unallocated scholarship available which MAY have been what Sarah was waiting on and would explain her delaying her decision. I'm guessing it's UConn and we'll probably hear her announce that soon.

I believe it will be Duke. Lots of signs she wants to stay in North Carolina. Exciting young coach. Rumors education is important. Rumors she wants to play with Roberson. Look at their roster. Lots of young and talented pieces. There's no reason to believe this team can't contend for titles if Strong joins. I said she wants to stay in North Carolina. I would be stunned if she chose UNC. They are an older team. They underachieved this season. They have underachieved a lot under this coach. Banghart might just be a good recruiter and a lousy head coach.Does an elite prospect really want to tie their future to a question mark like her? UConn has gone all in on this recruitment. And they have made it clear to Strong from the beginning that they want her. I think it is between Duke and UConn to tell you the truth.

I agree UConn is injury university for players because of Geno stubborn ole fashion coaching style. Geno would physically run Strong into the ground. Strong probably would dominant the Big East Conference, but the competition and exposure would be in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Bottom line anybody but UConn.

@@cinquebleuu9408 Many of Uconn's recent injuries were non-contact. Paige, Azzi, Aubrey at least. Not sure about Ayanna or Jana. Amari, Aliyah, and Caroline were contact injuries. I think Geno needs to do a better job evaluating recruit's prior injury history before making offers.

Do you know how UTTERLY DUMB you all sound talking about injury history at UConn? Geno, the program, nor the training staff have nothing to do with the injuries. Injuries happen in sports…PERIOD. It’s just unfortunate that UConn has been hit with so many. Currently, they have 5 injured players. Jana El Alfy’s injury happened playing for Egypt. She has yet to play one game for UConn. Ayanna Patterson’s patella tendinitis has been an issue since high school. Caroline Ducharme has experienced multiple concussions due to in game contact. Azzi’s knee injury was first suffered during her sophomore year in high school and has been reinjured twice in college due to in game contact last year (ND, Georgetown) and a simple practice rep (non contact) this year. Aubrey’s injury this year was also non contact. Paige injured her knee last year in a voluntary pick up game prior to the season. So, tell us….HOW are the injuries Geno’s fault??? I’LL WAIT.

Sarah Strong next seems like a huge complimentary piece as a freshman, but not a 25ppg instant star, like Hildago or Juju. Going to a stacked team like UConn would be best. NC State makes the most sense basketball wise. She would be the best player, with plenty of help around her but I feel she would've made that decision months ago. I believe she doesn't want to be THE focal point and playing next to Bueckers would be ideal for her development. I think South Carolina has an outside shot, with the departure of Cardoso looming, but Pao Pao's return was the final nail in the coffin. LSU was never a serious option in my opinion.

Sarah Strong was interviewed by espn last night before the McDonald's All-American game. During the interview, she was asked what would go into your decision to pick a school. She said that one factor would be picking a "school close to home." Does this mean Duke or NC? Or, does it mean being close to her mom, who works for the Celtics org? Fact is Paige has only played 2 years and both years she has gone to final 4 1 year to the final Azzi has played 1 1/2 years so let's see what happens if this team can actually stay healthy. This year if they didn't have 5 on the bench that would have either started or would have played significant minutes. Sc would have been the only team with a shot. So I guess for now UConn fans will have to fall back on having 11 nattys the only team close would be Tennessee. Next year if healthy they will be tough again with there frontline set and guards galore. Having Azzi, Paige, Shade on the floor at the same time will be fun to watch. I mean SC got bounced with a powerhouse team last year so goes to show how hard it is. but anyone with the basketball IQ above moron would know this.

North Carolina has three forwards and only signed a guard and a post that she probably played against in the state high school tournaments. Both of these schools are within fifty miles of her home.
