Where is the best place to see wild orangutans? I did a 3 day cruise on the Kinabatangan River in search or Orangutans staying at the Sukau Rainforest Lodge. I love wildlife adventures and Sabah, Malaysia on the Island of Borneo is a great place to find animals in their natural habitat. This is one of the best places to see orangutans in Malaysia. Is the Borneo Kinabatangan River Cruise worth the money? In this video I show you the full rainforest experience in Sabah, Malaysia. We also explore Sandakan, the old capital of Sabah here on Borneo in Malaysia where we visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center and the Rainforest Discovery Center.

It really was just incredible. Just being out there was amazing but seeing orangutans completely on my own like that was something I will never forget. Thanks so much for watching!

@Farawaynow extremely lucky like British vlogger karl watson. The other British vlogger paddy doyle wasn't so lucky. It was raining most of his trip.

Yes, I do think we we managed to be lucky enough to time things just right. We only had one afternoon with a short period of rain

@Farawaynow it is just different with Tanzania, kenya, south africa safari because animals can easily be seen in the grass land. We have the oldest tropical rainforest in the world, the animals play hide and seek with humans

@@keangwooichoo6138 Yes, I have been to all of those places and seeing the main safari animals that are in huge numbers is quite easy. The forest animals are a different story. You have to hike though the forest to see the apes. When I saw the mountain gorillas our group was split in two and we hiked for hours and my group saw them but the others did not. I am hopeful as we plan to search for chimps in the Mahale Mountains National Park on Lake Tanganyika. Fingers crossed!

My suggestion : to see pgymy elephants, go to kinabatangan at the dry season (our summer). When it is wet season like monsoon, elephants seldom appear at the river banks.

Malaysia does not hv chimp (another ape) but we hv gibbons. Malaysia is listed by united nation as one of 17 countries around the world with mega diversity. Only 3 countries in south east asia shared this privilege. They are philippines, indonesia, malaysia

A couple of questions. What time of the year did you go? Did you have to take many precautions? I mean injections? Malaria tablets? Many mosquitoes? Was this the best lodge or are there others of similar standard? What made you decide on this one?

We went in September. The lodge was great, there were a couple of similar. This one was a little more pricey but we picked it as it was a special occasion so we splurged. There are also many cheaper options. We took bug spray but no malaria tablets.
